I graduated from beauty school 1972 and those rubber caps are still the best way to do highlights

I used to get my hair highlighted like this back in middle/high school, but I had shoulder length hair. It hurt like hell every time the woman would pull the hair through the cap. Eventually I stopped getting it done, as it wasn't worth the pain/money and didn't even look good anyway.
