Our company car is a C5 Tourer (estate) 2015 with hydraulic active suspension. Such a good looking car, it does long distances like no other. It has been 100% reliable and everyone who drives it marvels it. And it's super economical. Viva la Citroen!
These European brands are way better compared to other regions with respect to tech and design. This Citroen looks awesome, but the only hindrance might be the boot utilisation due to the dropping roofline. The design feels fresh and different.
This car is so.underrated and actualy it is amazing, not try to be sporty in any way but real long cruser for enoy drive or be driven,we need more this kinda cars and not usseles "sportines" ,majority of people.dont need S from.sport but need.a loot and loot of comfort
That is harsh to give a 7.8 out of 10 I say! This deserve as at least 9 out of 10 ... But no, this is a French car I hear you say. I bought one and I love it immensely. Well super done Citroën as the C5x is absolutely brilliant. Vive la France, Vive la Citroën
What is it with large cars and small engines. Yup they give them plenty gears to ensure sparkly low speed pickup…..but once underway and loaded, face it they struggle on urban hauls. This ain’t aimed at citroen…it’s aimed at many today. Load this thing with family and gear, possibly a trailor hauling the bbq and kids gear for the day away and try and become anyone other than a mobile chicane for other road users
Citroen and Peugeot have basically capped their petrol engine sizes at 1.6L, and emissions standards dictate that. So, while a throbbing 3.0L six would be a SUPERB fit for this, it'll never happen. Matt
So much nicer than any Asian car. French cars are really quite something, hard not to love once you try driving one. Good niche fit below the ostentatious german brands yet a cut above the asian brands.
Attractive, but do the two black areas below the front lights have a function?..or are they just meant to be decorative ..because visually I feel the front droops a little too much. In some ways its a pity that it doesn't have Air or Hydropneumatic suspension.
How does this compare to the Volvo V60 CC? Strange you mentioned Subaru Outback or the Audi All road. I would have thought the Volvo CC is in fact a similar product - raised wagon offering the practicality but not boxy like an SUV.
I love my old C5, it redefines comfort. Maybe this would be a good replacement except for the dealer network ( charging $560 for a service! ) that lives in a dreamland, ensuring Peugeot/Citroen will always be marginal in this country even though in many ways they make great cars for this country.
I’d never recommend an independent mechanic. This is what causes problems. European car services are generally higher because more parts are replaced-not just an oil change.
It appears you used stock footage for the boot as it is demonstrated with ski hatch pass through for the rear armrest. Does the AUS spec model come with split rear fold down seat backs?
You're good, Rob. Yes, we had to use an image from the European model to showcase the boot space, as no imagery was available (and I got photos that weren't passable for the video). Our cars in Australia don't get the ski port. Thanks Matt
@@carsguide I think the main reason for this situation is that C5 X is produced in China's domestic factory. The labour cost is lower than in France. And also reduce the cost of delivery.
Made in China but then so are the Volvos I might cross shop this against. Then again the BMW's Ive shopped recently are made in South Africa (3 series) and Mexico (4 series). The badge means nothing when it comes to country of origin.
