Never any guarantees that the part you fit is the right part. So many different variants across manufacturers. Suprised a garage repairing don't recognise this.

Always important for garages to check the spec of the car to see if it needs an active or passive abs sensor.

Regarding abs sensors I always get parts suppliers to double check if it's the right part for the car vag ford and mercedes are critical on abs sensors and sent me down a rabbit hole over the years.

garage should be cross checking the part! VAGS have the same issues

Wrong part supplied.. How many times have I experienced that issue ( as well as new parts that were faulty out of the box.) Excellent diagnosis Ryan.. Hope your mic sorts itself out.

The stupidity of manufacturers. The plugs should be different and not be physically interchange.
