Thanks Nathan for the Tokyo Sakura blossom opening update. Great to know it's been brought forward 3 days to March 20th 👏 (heard it here first 🥇), putting my next upcoming Tokyo visit 13-22 on-track for Hanami viewing 🌸 Hopefully the warmer weather will see the Sakura opening be brought forward even further 👌. Japan is the playground of the World 🌎🚀
@NinjaMonkeyguy
@NinjaMonkeyguy 4 месяца назад
I'm guessing it will prob come forward even more! But take care.. these forecasts are still premature and the important dates are the "best viewing" dates. Usually the date of sakura is the skaura opening

Yes full bloom is to aim for, but early bloom is certainly better than no bloom at all 🙂. In fact on our 2016 Tokyo visit we were there for the full Sakura bloom into Hanafubuki (falling petals) which I think is probably the best of part the period with flowers on the trees and petals raining in the air 🤗🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

We just arrived at Haneda International airport today (28 Feb 2024) and we still had to do it the old fashioned way by queuing to get to the immigration counter. The officer scanned our QR Code or took the written embarkation form. Every individual has their own QR Code even if are registered under one family. Then photo & finger prints taken.. The only difference was at the next step. the Customs clearance where we had to register the QR code again at a machine whilst waiting for our luggage. Then we proceeded to the Electronic Clearance gate.

Living in the future.... hahaha, nope. Those kiosk/terminals are excellent, but I've used them in other counries for years. My three trips to Japan in the last five years have all averaged one hour plus to get through passport control. Typically because there's fifteen booths but only five operating. Strange considering the airports know exactly how many passagers are coming and when.

Regarding Mt. Fuji, do you know if it will still be allowed to climb the mountain in one day? I mean for example starting early in the morning and being back down by the afternoon. I don't want to stay overnight in a mountain hut unless it's absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance, keep up the good videos

I can only answer from the info provided about the new fees and restrictions. My guess is that Yes You would be able to.. the question is how would you return if the gates close?
@nilsteegen33
@nilsteegen33 4 месяца назад
@NinjaMonkeyguy good question. But if the gates close at 4pm and I can get back by that time it shouldn't be a problem. It will probably be pretty exhausting but I might just try it.

I couldn't get Japan Web to accept my passport . It keep tell me it wasn't bright enough so I gave up and just filled out the cards On my last attempt if there was any more light I'd need to be standing on the sun. That said did use the new passport and picture stations and they were faster, before we got to the human who reviewed forms. So I'd say there was a little bit of time saved. Totosu Senkyaku Banrai and Samurai Lord Experience are definitely experiences I'd consider doing.

Japan has no standard immigration policy. All “immigrants” are Ad Hoc. Japan also has no plan to expand immigration regardless of the population decline.
