Thank you so much for teaching people dog etiquette! I am a former horse trainer, and much of that training was socialization and teaching them how to be around people and be safe while being handled. How to stand, how to walk on a lead rope, how to pick up their feet, how to deal with being washed and groomed, how to stand while tied, how to stand and be tacked up, how to load and unload from a horse trailer. I was a ground trainer and as you can tell I basically taught 2- and 3-year old horses how to act around people. I live in the suburbs now and it shocks me as to how many people think they can let their dog run wild, bark, and be a nuisance because they view their dog as a kid (a spoiled kid) and failed to teach their spoiled pet any manners. A dog that yaps / barks / or jumps on me is a clear indication that the owner is clueless and has no respect for other people.

Thank you Josh! Great and best presentation of the Premier 1 electric net I've seeing as brief as posible! If you want to square or rectangle it you can roll it off and walk it like a square/rectangle every certain amount of posts, and while you haven't set them up, cross the net over the one laying in the ground, continue until you match the other end. Also, to have a safer joint of its edges, I prefer to pass one from the other as far as the connections allow, that way you close the gap in between them. Then, when you want to walk through them just swing open the interior post of the two closing the net, because is easier for humans to break an obstacle than for animals lol. Then close the opened post back after so no chicken are lost!

I appreciate how you train your dogs. Their very lives could depend on their obedience. I don't have a dog. I'm allergic to most common breeds. But I have trained my 4 chickens to come when called. Again their lives could depend on their obedience. I want them to understand to come immediately at command. If I see a hawk or other preditors while they're out in their run I need them to get to their enclosed run immediately. The only time I ever call chick chick is as I'm going to their enclosed pen. They come running as fast as their little legs carry them lol they know they will get treats. Then I pet each one and tell them thank you for obeying. They just get so stinkn happy when I praise them. But they're safety and the safety of others is paramount.

Yup. Best thing you can teach a dog is not to jump. Even a little lap dog needs to learn that. We love out shepherds but jumping up is a nono and they know it. Our big boy we lost last year was 120lbs.......we didnt mind him protecting the property but as soon as we acepted company he knew better to not jump on them.

I have 5 pooping on my porch, no problem..A tarp w straw or hay is easy enough if they're in a constant sport like nesting..mine sleep in the Avacado tree! Gotta start over.. Alohaa

josh keep in mind that truck bed gets hot enough to burn there feet keep a section of carpet in back of truck to keep it from getting too hot .

Or a piece of plywood. On ours we keep a sheet of 1/4" 4"x8", it protects our plastic linings especially if I carry an aggressive load like a condenser unit that has the metal bottom pulled by gunned nails or tapcon screws to the concrete (nails are worst pullers by powder). So I don't scratch my bed much and a sheet of plywood doesn't hurt much. I bet your dogs will love your plywood or, they may go for the warm metal spot at times. Look how they stayed right by where you were driving, so funny and loyal at the same time!

Mostly we have we have hawks and owls that get our birds and even our cats. One hawk that keeps flying around is almost as big as a chicken. All my neighbor’s ducks are gone, picked off one by one.

The best way is to build a safe place to close at night for the chickens to sleep and lay eggs and let them free to roam and chase insects.

Note that "night" means different things to different animals, we lost a hen to a fox about 5-5:30 PM last week. It came back about the same time 2 days later and was seen in the field about the same time the following day. Don't know what will happen if the birds (all adults) hit those 5 joules I'll be picking off the hotwire on an existing field fence.

How do you handle airborne predators? My daughter-in-law had chickens and real problems with Hawks. She no longer iives where she can have chickens 😞, but it would be nice for future reference.

My goats could care LESS about electric fences. Had one that would make my arm go numb for hours. The goats would scratch themselves on it, and walk through whenever they wanted. You could see it jolting them, and they wouldn't miss a beat chewing their cud.

Another great video Josh, thanks. Great work with the dogs, awesome! We have 3 boxers and help when ever possible with Boxer Rescue of Texarkana. It would be so great if most folks would stop buying dogs from puppy mills and support their local rescues. One of our local banks (Bank OZK) is putting on an even to help our local animal rescues and its called Dogs for Dogs (their selling hot dogs and donating money to the rescues, great stuff their doing). anyway God bless and keep up the great work.

Thank you so much for the video. 1st time viewer :) I've always owned big dogs boxers, Great Dane's, black Russian terriers... And I've been an avid hobby Trainer with them for their entire lives. I love what you've done with your dogs :) great job. Every time I see someone being dragged down the street by their Pit bull or whatever I really want to get out and teach them a few tricksThat would probably change their lives and their entire dynamic with their dog. Of course we had a friend With a great shepherd crossThat was wonderful indoors but even as an old dog was highly dog aggressive and the hardest dog I've ever had pull on a leash ( And I just told you the giant breed dogs I've had over the years) Well after some short burst training with just myself my boyfriend and their dog (no owner) We demonstrated to the owner perfect walking and heeling skills With a Pronged collar for a tool (no go, cruel, their baby bla bla, )... OK went back to demonstrating simply Using body language, stopping, distraction, treats & positive reinforcement. Walks Instantly became so much More enjoyable for everyone Including the dog! Then came Another dog in the distance... No reaction so owner Calls out the presence of the dog... I was mortified when he began to egg the Dog on ( Whispering watch that dog over and over) untill he got the reaction he wanted... Pulling And aggression. Then I realized that was a trained response And they really didn't want the dog to not act like a psycho on the end of a leash. Just wanted to share my story that sometimes owners Knowingly or Unknowingly reinforce a bad behavior, And Teaching them proper techniques is simply a lost cause. I miss training as I'm without a dog for the 1st time in 45 years! Soon though… very soon ;)

Yeah I had a dog little Pitbull that just jumped out of the back of our truck going down the road thankfully we were only going maybe 30 miles an hour but he landed right on his head and flipped over a couple times I hurt him he yelped pretty good. Never did it again after that though LOL.

Yep, I learned the hard way that the hawks are ruthless here. Lost six 9 week old chicks in the first 2 weeks of putting them out. I had to add bird netting over the entire top of the electric fencing while the roosters mature, and I'm raising a couple guard geese in the meantime. It's awful loosing birds.

It was such a joy to see two such well behaved dogs who have been trained with love and not fear. I wish my neighbor would train their dog, an 8 month old pit bull mix, he doesn't think, he knows he is alpha and does and goes wherever he pleases. He has no idea what a voice command is and I don't believe my neighbor has any idea how to train him. Such a shame really, I can see he would be a wonderful pet for the kids but unless they take him in hand soon he will end up being registered with animal control as a vicious dog and restrained by rope and line to his yard.

Your dogs are so adorable, I still remember they killed neighbor's cat and chicken..? Puppy were looking so guilty......😃😃😃😃 I had similar cases with puppies. Our puppies digged up my mum flowers lawn, bit orchid plants, partially our faults, don't know how to care and provide proper space. I was 14 yrs old.
