Indeed. Most actual bikers would take the left turn against oncoming traffic to avoid the incline, or even just to take the shortest path. Well, here in the Netherlands at least. But hey it's a game, and a seriously funny video too 😀

As also a Dutch person, I hate to say it, but there are many things wrong with the concept. 1) There is no need to separate bike lanes that drastically. We bicyclers will find our way, not much (safety) space needed. 2) People often think only of travel time when they are considering building bike lanes. It's a wrong thought. People value safety and enjoyment a lot more. Safety comes in excellent asphalt quality, broad lanes and not crossing motorised vehicles. Enjoyment comes from the feeling of freedom with nature around and no sounds and pollution of motorised vehicles. Also, no inclines please. People of age 80+ should also be considered.

I really want to love this kind of thing and would kill for you to do a CS series centered around reclaiming city centres from cars, but on an environmental level this still sucks? It's still a massive amount of concrete, which is super carbon intensive, that will require carbon instensive construction and ultimately take up a load of space, and to a pedestrian looks effectively the same as a car overpass (ie an unpassable mass of concrete). The joy of bikes is you don't need this kind of infrastructure!! I love your stuff, and CS, but I like that you criticise the car-centric nature of the game and I guess I'm saying that it's great that you're thinking about the reduction of car usage, but if you did videos on reducing material and space usage??? I would faint I reckon. Keep it up but also keep growing :) love, a European that doesn't drive ♥️
