Rafa, the BYD sells for $44,000 compared to Tesla for the equivalent at $70,000 nearly about half price and there is a 2 years' waiting list to purchase the car in Australia. All reviews by auto enthusiasts and experts marked it very highly for the quality of the make and also reliability. Thanks to good research and design of the vehicle by BYD.

Every electric bus in the US is made by BYD and is made in the US, with its headquarters in Los Angeles. I think BYD will start selling its electric vehicles in the US market soon.
This phenomenon won't happen, because the U.S. government and Congress have formulated many restrictions and regulations that violate the WTO rules in order to suppress Chinese enterprises, among which restricting Chinese-made electric vehicles is one of the key points.
One interesting thing about the BYD cars is that the name of the car series are taken from Chinese dynasties, such as Tang, Qin, etc. Still have not figure out their naming methodology. Perhaps Rafa can get a BYD person to explain it.
The safety of the battery should be the vital factor in EV not just how far it can travel per charge. Heat control is vital especially during the summer months which are virtually 365 days to those living in the tropic. Testing the EVs in the temperate climatic condition is common but they should do one in the desert area.
