To everybody talking about seasoning… THIS IS SOUL FOOD!! You don’t eat soul food to worry about your blood pressure 😂! It’s not supposed to be healthy, it’s supposed to be as flavorful as possible!! Pepper doesn’t raise blood pressure, there’s seasonings outside of salt. There’s NO excuse not to season Country Style Soul Food!!!!!
What is "soul food"? Preparing fried foods, boiling vegetables, and heating things up in the oven isn't "soul food". Everyone season and make this food. The food is from other cultures. It's just stolen culinary dishes on one plate.
What is this "soul food" anyway? Because all that I'm noticing is a plate full of store bought easy to prepare of different cultures food. This is why most of the items are fried foods.
There's debate on whether or not salt even causes high blood pressure. I eat multiple times the daily recommended amount of salt and have zero issue with blood pressure
@@lordeowstheking I was gonna ask why you’re complaining over a simple comment and then I clicked your profile and saw 100+ previous comments of you just complaining on every one of his videos. You seem miserable😂😂😂
What on earth is happening?! I recently ordered oxtails, rice, peas, and cabbage from a Caribbean restaurant, only to find it severely lacking in seasoning. Is it conceivable that we're witnessing a generation of restaurateurs who have neglected to grasp the fundamentals of properly seasoning food, which is a basic but critical culinary skill?!
Your biggest mistake was eating oxtails from carribeans when it’s a black American thing especially in Texas and Louisiana. Jamaicans make their beef meets with the same bitter broth as for that n Guinness tasting brown BS or it tastes incorrect which is because they use brown sugar in it
Ppls that are diabetic messed da food game up alil cause now restaurants serve they food wit little to no seasoning bckuz of ppls wit high blood pressure so that's why they give customers salt& pepper on da side! Some restaurants dgaf & season they food da way its cooked at home
Facts but then you gotta people sayin "fOoD iS bEeTteR nO dRowNneD iN sEasOnInG" like bruh there's a different between well seasoned and over doing it. You can literally tell by looking how much you put in. And no seasoning at all is just terrible idk how some people got it in their head no seasoning is healthy or somethin cause it not that's just a lie.
COVID-19 lockdowns have made people epically lazy! Workers no longer have pride in their work, and they are perfectly okay doing the bare minimum or pretending to do the bare minimum.
I'm not a grandma, my boys are 25, 29 and almost 34, but I can and do know how to cook. I live in Colo and just had crawfish for lunch and I have chitlins in my freezer. It doesn't matter where one lives to learn how to cook with flavor.
I can agree about the title😂😂I’m still struggling to find good food!! I live in concord and I went all around.. I moved here from DETROIT!! Everybody keeps telling me I’m going to the wrong places but I feel like it’s all the wrong places😂😂
Born and raised in CLT and this man is spitting facts. Prior to me relocating 3 years ago I was disgusted by the ‘soul food’ restaurants there. I had to travel out of my city and sometimes out of the state itself just to get the authentic experience. Unless someone’s older family members were throwing a gathering at their home.
Moved to NC from MA a few years ago at this point. The food was night and day. Can’t get better than mid Chinese, no good pizza or Italian food, Mexican/hispanic food is hit or miss, same with soul food and bbq (mainly miss on those last two), and no European or Asian restaurants like at all. The only state I’ve been to that has worse food than NC is AK.
Bro, you're breaking my heart. My hometown has been gentrified of its soul. You may have to go get a plate from an old auntie in order to redeem the city
That’s exactly what I said! These are not the days when restaurants cared about turning out good food. Now it’s about putting out the lea$t & pocketing the mo$t.
@taahiramcgee The slander is wild. I'm from Michigan and live in Tennessee. And it's only hot chicken here. It's too damn hot to eat. All heat and no season
@@kjb2218 Bogus, my owner is Cajun the food is ok. He uses his own season blend no Tony's. I appreciate it. If they have Northerners running everything (Doubt it) why don't the locals want the job?
I know what it is already lol 😅! Mr. Chime time taste buds got upgraded when he left North Carolina hahahahaha. Now he's back home he's realizing how bad the food is there Damn 😅
For what it's worth, it's not North Carolina, it's Charlotte. Other cities in North Carolina are much, much better. Charlotte has a horrible food culture. It's been that way for over 25 years that I am aware of. If you drive anywhere else in NC, the food is immediately better.
@@89rnicole1 You are right!!! I recently was in that part of the state (Nashville) and the food was way better than anything you can find in Charlotte.
@@TheTruth27536 when i was in North Carolina one of those spots had the best Mediterranean of all time. but that was in Mooresville. damn, no wonder why people in Charlotte be so mad.
Being a Latino from north Jersey I don't have much experience with soul food but I know enough to see that food is soul less lol p.s. seasoning is the cheapest part
Have you had fried chicken, fried fish, bbq beef or pork ribs, sweet/mash potatoes, pasta, some type of bread that used cornmeal, vegetables, rice, Kraft mac n cheese, or a cabbage dish? The term "soul food" is used because this group doesn't have an identity here in America because most do not know where they're from. This "soul food" is nothing but stolen culinary dishes served on one plate. I've even seen a video in California with some food trucks making "soul food" tacos. Everything was store bought goods to make a cheap basic taco.
one thing you have tried junk food that is something else and you try food without hygiene that really are not in the rankings and best positions in the city is not my problem since this comment has passed 5 months there are new restaurants here and there will be more and good experiences then do not say without meaning since fanaticism is pure hatred when really your hatred comes out on the other side some the food that depends on where you go or restaurant in the city since food tastes vary what He likes to eat but with that comment it is an empty piece of paper without any sense because it is known that you have not tried the foods that I have tried that remove your expectations of hating food in the city so think before commenting thank you
At least they apparently know how to cook the actual food. They just need someone with heavy ass hands in the kitchen spicing the shit. Spend the couple dollars on some broth for your gravy at least, good lord.
Somebody send him to Mr 3’s crab pot, the taco truck at compare foods on tryon , optimist hall, Niki’s food shop on the ford, sabor Latin street grill, hell why not the river Chinese buffet, what the fries, haberdish, Cabo fish, Boudreaux’s Louisiana kitchen top it off with Amelie’s
Hey Mr. ChimeTime! Before you leave Charlotte, please review the Double Turkey Burger w/cheese (all the way) at Smashburger at 4400 Randolph Rd in Charlotte NC. You can try one with their special sauce and another one without the Special sauce and add mayonnaise. Do that for your boyee.
Chime my guy, keep doing what you do Bro. Apply Pressure! Especially when it comes to us. Represent your Brand. And to you sir. Salute again. Great commentary 👌 👏🏽 👍🏾
Cookout is a pretty good fast food train get the tray with a big double burger, chicken ranch wrap, and fries then substitute the drink for a milkshake if you’re willing to pay a little extra
So I watch your content often. I really like to see you win with your food choices because I lke to see you 😊. Well may I kindly suggest Kale's Kitchen in Durham, NC. The Bougie soul food truck in Charlotte, NC. Hope this helps.
@Mr.ChimeTime You have to go to the 1) Leah & Louise 2) Sol’ Delish 3) Soul Central 4) LuLu’s 5) Freshwater 6)Nappy Chef 7) Skyview 22. *******8) Original Chicken and Ribs - one of the oldest Black owned restaurants in Charlotte.
Your reviews never cease to disappoint 😂😂!! If you’re ever in the lake Norman area, try Mooresville Family House on River Hwy! Their cabbage and fried chicken are 🔥🙌🏾
Is there something I'm not understanding? Do a lot of people get down with bland food and actually enjoy it? If I'm paying premium prices for food I want it seasoned and flavorful.
Its has to be the right amount of salt. Im like that too at times & im a guy thats usually a salty eater but even i know when its too little or too much.
Some of these restaurant cooks prolly got through so far due to their meals looking good, cuz even my sister will season the crap out of anything when she cooks, and she HARDLY cooks.
That definitely look like funeral food. Perfect description👌🏾 Update: After watching the entire clip… that cornbread and beef rib just made me hungry AF!! That’s all I would need & im good👍🏾👍🏾
Moved to Charlotte from Chicago a couple years back and while there are some gems overall a lot of the food in this city is just missing something, especially the Chinese and Mexican food. More expensive than Chicago too! Some damn good Colombian out here places tho
You have to try full ribs plates and Mac and cheese at a restaurant called OINT JOINT Newnan, ga. You can only get the ribs on Friday and Saturday hands down the best around
Bro who TF keep recommending these diabolical ass soul food spots in Charlotte lmao I'm tryna find a good spot by watching his videos but the food don't ever be looking good 😂😂
Hey Mr.ChimeTime!!!! Have you tried Angie's Diner off Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte?? It's a bona-fide hole in the wall black owned soul food joint...
Honestly, try pine hurst, go to the holly Inn, hit up the bar, and enjoy. Place is fucking awesome and i worked there for forever. You'll enjoy yourself. Everything is made in house and from scratch, should try the salmon and for sure country fried chicken. If they got a special, get that shit and eat on the balcony. You'll make the kitchens day and tell em an old friend sent yah.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the food definitely garbage as soon as he open it i knew his face expressions says it all that cornbread does look good glad it taste good so does the beef rib
