I'm willing to bet that if you hold still, or hold right, or hold left (one of the three) the flag will always turn into a star. Because magic Koopa's aren't random, they just work off Mario's movement (in longer levels that almost always makes them random, but a preprogramed ai playing the game gets consistent results)
I must say, Star Trek and Ryukahr is not a crossover I ever expected. The castle-themed bits clearly depicted various parts of the Enterprise. The Night-forest (Pipe world in SMB3) evoked parts of the ship that were being taken over by the Borg that had sneaked on board. The galoombrats with buzzy beetles on their heads may have represented crew members that had been turned into Borg drones. I personally am a big Star Trek fan, but for you, First Contact may be the only movie worth watching. But then, you haven't even seen Star Wars, so 🤷♂
The actions etc was awesome. But the design and time to create the level, was not good. Some people just make some quick levels to enjoy the fun stuffs, but not think so much to design it, when the level was very short. Nothing wrong with that, when its very different how much time people have to use time creating levels.

Love Star Trek, the room with the buffer red coin was very clearly a model of one of the Enterprises Not sure if the red coin rooms had some Star Trek references, could be each focussing on a different "lifeform" (making first contac), but I did wstch this at 1 am on a barely lit phone screen before going to sleep. Cool level
In the star trek first contact level I recognized the first room as being the klingon bird of prey but the rest of the level I'm not sure. I remember seeing it a while ago and they have to go back in time to stop the klingons from interfering with earth's first contact with the Vulcans which triggered the space exploration and star fleet if I'm not mistaken.
As you can see even in that footage, the flagpole pops back in every time the magikoopa who despawned it is defeated. That's why it keeps reappearing, getting hit by a spell, and being turned into enemies multiple times over the course of the playthrough.
I HAVE A NEW HAIL MARY CHALLENGE IDEA FOR RYU. If Ryu uses 1 life hail mary at 1 life and manages to complete the run, he must after play one more level and one shot it for the run to be valid. He must also provide new footage of the princess being rescued lol. If he uses 2 life hail mary he must play 2 levels and so on. Yes, we will have more "sad runs" for sure but it will be a nice challenge that will provide some epic moments and will allow ryu to use hail mary more and in a more strategic way. Can you imagine him using a 5 life hail mary, owning that last kaizo weird beetle-ceiling technique thing and then having to play 5 more leves???
So I watched one of your videos from 6 yrs ago it was a casual z7 level 60 second timer...you wondered about cheese and I have it for you...first go into the leaf room then go to the cheese room fly up to the vine and then she'll jump to victory...can be done in less than 60 seconds...maybe you could try it and post it here on youtube
what kind of person has never seen star trek ? you are missing out. i morn and weep for you. i grew up watching star trek with my mom i watched all the movies with my family. you good sir have missed out on a huge part of a life that you could of had 😥😭😢
What was that Koopa level with multiple checkpoints ? What a piece of crap, at the time of MM1, you would not have any checkpoint, and only the best ones could beat it -_-'.
