This Company Quietly Released One Of The Best EDC Wallets Of The Year (Patepluma Co. Lempira Wallet) 

Thanks for commenting on this Mike. As an independent reviewer it’s my job to mention that this design was heavily inspired, but isn’t an exact copy. So what I focus on is quality, craftsmanship and how much was changed to make it their own.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Agreed. Open Sea is inspiration to many of us; I tell my customers to support your company as well, because I love what you do. What I have noticed myself is that any wallet with a flap tends to be compared to Open Sea's wallets automatically even if they are very differently built/designed, thus its difficult for smaller companies in that regard. However, I feel at peace here; I have never copied anyone (although, yes some colleagues inspire me. But that is normal, like in music and paintings). My wish is to see that customers also see my work as innovative. I never saw another company with a stichtless, adjustable wallet like the Yohoa. Or a veritical and horizontal wallet like the Utila, Or a wallet inspired from the design of a car, like the Cyber wallet. Anyway, best wishes to both of you Mike and Chris :)

The wallet's design presents a challenge for right-handed individuals. While the flap opens conveniently with the right hand, the card slots are located on the left side. This necessitates an awkward transfer of the wallet to the left hand in order to access the cards efficiently.

@@1974Redhill looks that way, but I am right handed myself and have the wallet also, this is not a problem. Although the internal slope os towards the left, the card is exposed making it easy to use your right hand to swipe it up. Believe me, I test everg design for months before releasing it. In addition, customers can also request the internal pocket to face to the right as well as an off the menu option. Everything is possible. Not a crazy comment though, this is what I thought as well when designing it. In practice, it is not a challenge. Kind regards.

Indeed. I use my personal Lempira like this. It gives a beautiful look (almost like mountains, due to the slopes of the leather), and it gives you a safer quick access front pocket. Nice observation 😊

Well I talk about that in this video right? My thumbnail says, “Classic Design” And there’s more than 3 makers that do this design. But they all do something a little different to make it their own, and these guys nailed it

Probably just a pattern that you can pull off the internet. There are only so many ways to make a wallet and they’ve all been done it seems like. Only way to set yourself apart is adding little personal touches and exotic materials.

​@@RiZenAsH I wish...that would have saved me many hours worrying about each milimiter 😊. It is a classic look like Chris said, but this is built very differently. Three pieces of leather in different shapes and sizes come together to create this beauty. I had to make many prototypes prior to paying for cutting dies for this one. Looks simple, but it was a long process. The three pieces allow customers to choose three different leathers and colors. Combinations are plentiful.

There’s several companies that pretty much make the same tv😂What’s the big deal here……A lot of people in the wallet making community make similar wallets,It’s not a bad thing it’s a different take on a known design

Hello Carlos, I will reply here to help Chris out: the colors are Primary (where logo is stamped) Waxed pull-up Olmo leather. And the Flap is Pueblo Black, and the third color is Pueblo Olive. The thread is black. As for your taxes questions: you do not pay taxes when you order on my site if you live outside of the EU. You may see tax there, but at checkout nothing will be added. If you pay import tax, not sure. Perhaps depends on the state? When I lived in the state of Delaware where I went to school, I know I didnt pay sale taxes when purchasing items there. But no idea, so far, I never heard customers mentioning that they paid import taxes. You do pay shipping. Best wishes, happy weekend.

How do I stack up? Not great actually. The Topsider LT is a much better wallet than I am! 🤣 But if you meant how does this wallet compare against the Topsider, that’s all a matter of opinion. I ranked the LT one of the best wallets of last year

Hi mate. If Canadian dollars are wider than the US dollars, you will have to fold the bills once, like Chris did in the video. I use the Lempira with euros, which are wide bills, and folding them is not issue. If the bills are 67mm wide or less, they will probably fit unfolded. Google says that your bills are about 69.5mm wide? Maybe they fit but very tight. Perhaps folding them is best.

Let it. This wallet is designed COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than any similar style and I stand behind what I said. I’m no mouth piece for any company. I give honest reviews and it looks like some people don’t like that

Let me clarify this for the sake of transparency: Open Sea has been a source of inspiration to many of us in the wallet business. I own many of their wallets myself, and I have sometimes chat with Mike, the owner. Everyone who supports my work should also support theirs. I don't see Open Sea as a competitor, but as colleagues that deserve to flourish as well. My GreNi wallet's front was inspired on their GunDeck, but the back is very different. And I can see the comparison of the Lempira with the Houbei, but nope...it was never on my desk when designing the Lempira Wallet. I think what makes it similar is the slope of the leather where you close the flap into, but the rest: the flap is round, the back pocket is different, the internal piece of leather is a floating piece that gives you more capacity in the back or in the front depending on your needs. It is made out of 3 pieces of leather, allowing a customer to have a lot of fun choosing up to three types of leathers and colors. So my take is, buy the Houbei as well as the Lempira. You will love them both 😊. Yes, some designs have inspired some of my works, but I never just copy something. Every wallet requires weeks of work on paper, on computer, on prototyping on leather. Every milimiter gives me headaches. And I also have very different designs like the Utila, Cyber, Groningen, Yohoa and Laha wallets. I enjoy the process, so I wouldn't take shortcuts by disrespecting a colleague and just copying and pasting their work 😊. But the comparison to Open Sea is actually a compliment for me. I love their work!
