Prepare for battles of Paldean proportions when Dialga and Palkia appear in 5-star Tera Raid Battles! You’ll be able to take on these Legendary Pokémon from Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. PST to Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Dialga will be appearing in Pokémon Scarlet and Palkia will be appearing in Pokémon Violet. You can only catch Dialga and Palkia once per save data, but you can keep challenging them to obtain more rewards even after you’ve caught them.
You’ll be able to find 5-star Tera Raid Battles after completing Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet’s main story. However, players who haven’t completed the main story may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer. You can participate in Tera Raid Battles against Pokémon that don’t appear in the version of the game you’re playing by joining a Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer with the opposite version of the game.
A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online.
To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.

Studying Abroad at Blueberry Academy, Where Pokémon Battling Flourishes
In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, you will travel to your academy’s sister school, the Blueberry Academy, as an exchange student. Unlike your academy, with its long and storied history, Blueberry Academy is a school that was established in recent years, and its curriculum puts a particular emphasis on Pokémon battling. Most surprising of all is the fact that most of the school’s building is located under the ocean.
You will take part in classes, interact with the local students, and experience school life in this unusual academy.
The story continues as you become an exchange student and visit Blueberry Academy. Most of this unusual school is located under the ocean, and its curriculum emphasizes Pokémon battling.

I hated the dynamax adventures, like I really hate it. It's not fun for me, the fact you have to go through and there's still a chance not to catch it. That's not odds I want to play with, I just don't.

That’s fair! Everyone likes different things. I thought it was an engaging way to hunt for legendaries rather than soft resetting. But I’m sure there’s people out there who love soft resetting!

Aren't the Dynamax Adventures 100% catch odds so long as you deplete its health? Kinda like how Beast Balls are available but since all of the UBs are in the Dens anyway they're basically useless. 😕

The shiny odds are kind of a drag though, not sure on the odds plus Shiny Charm, but in all of my time in the Dens I've only found a shiny Dubwool.

@@abdizur8765 it’s a 1/100 shiny chance and you catch 4 pokemon in one run so a 1/25 with shiny charm. Without the charm it’s 1/75. I think the community has just been spoiled with how easy shinies are in PLA and SV

@@abdizur8765Yeah, the catch odds are 100% But often the team sucks and the legendary defeats u, so you can't catch it. I've not once had a team that could defeat Zygarde 😅

If someone is a casual and doesn’t enjoy competitive/shiny hunting etc, then they don’t need to keep playing the game. It’s not like every other game franchise has tons of extra content for casuals to keep playing after finishing the game. Pokemon does have that, filling your dex, collecting different types of pokemon, trying to get shinies, trying battles, tera raids. An actual casual is okay with stopping to play the game because there is no need to play anymore once the story is finished and they get enough of the other content. That is what Casual means. Now us hardcore fans, a battle facility would be cool for sure, but I think I’ll personally be fine just training competitive pokemon and building teams to battle online as that is mainly what has kept me in the series for this long (since Red).

But the game doesn’t have to die a year earlier than it could! Something like Dynamax adventures is something very accessible and casual for the majority of players to enjoy! But of course there’s going to be the “super” casuals who just play the story and stop playing regardless.

I think the main issue is that tera raids are more chaotic than dynamax ones you can one shot some bosses in 1 turn so my guess (I hope I'm wrong) is that we will get just the legendary as a raid boss and you can connect with people to defeat it if you have the same snack. Or they are working on a mode like DA but with a different approach where the end boss is not a legendary pokemon.

One of my irl friends mentioned hosting the legendaries as well! I’m skeptical because then people can just keep rehosting the same shiny suicine for everyone to get. They’d have to have a work around for resetting the encounter

wait I am confused. One the battle tower at least from what I have seen is one of the most hated of the battle facility mechanics there is so why would they add it in this when it would not really help. Two I have not really seen people stop playing at least not right away. Most people that play the game either play for competitive, play to completion and then move on, shiny hunt, play through an ungodly amount of times for some personal challenge, etc. To say there is nothing to do is kinda false. Also about the whole how long are people going to sit there resetting for a shiny legend before they give up... yeah how long you going to do those DMA before ya give up when you don't get your shiny dragon you have done like 50+ times. Now of course I understand I am sounding rude but I am only mirroring the tone that I feel is being given off here. Everyone has reasons they play and the mire mention of I do not like this or that shows only your own look on the prospect without really looking into what many others do. Some people really likes elements of the story which sadly no amount of dlc will change as most people only play a game once. Some like battles which competitive might before for them. Some like mini games which the new additions orge game and the sync mechanic will fill. Will they be great maybe not. You could have a success like DMA or the triathlon of Soul Silver and Heart Gold or contest that well rarely was good outside of maybe bdsp. What I am trying to say is you can't please everyone and there is nothing that will 100% keep everyone playing forever but those that do will go back on for what they love. The fact that DMA is popular proves that as while I do believe swsh is overhated it is sadly weak story wise and innovation wise.

Ummm... non-competitive players will get bored easily after the main story and some special events... competitive players keep playing due to the battle side of the game. I myself enjoy wifi battles... finding ways to defeat players that spam use legendary and Overused mons.. while I only use Underused to Never Used Mons, now that is continuous playability for me.. the joy of defeating a Crowned Zacian and a Fluttermane with using only a Cacturne is so much fun...... and I continuously play and experiment building Pokemon teams.. You can always play a Super Mario game then finish the story and secrets then not pick it up again... same goes for Zelda and other games that has next to zero post-game content. Pokemon ever since I picked it up was all post-game... specially the competitive battle side of things. Sorry, just explaining why I would burn hundreds of hours on a single Pokemon game and not get bored. Peace!!!

@@EastsidedTTV Yeah. I might be. But saying that, it only means that being a "casual" player has a limitation and breaking through it is a "non-casual" player such as me. Maybe casual players just need to try out the things that non-casuals enjoy about the game. Not sure if that makes sense, not trying to argue and all.. you can correct me if I am wrong. Also, for battle frontier-like content.. I am sure non-competitive players will finish through all the challenges fast and get bored again. I personally just played Battle Factory over and over again on Gen3 since it's good practice for link battles against other people. Haha

Thanks bro. I think you missed the point and that’s okay! Even though I already mentioned it in the video, I’ll say it again 😁 the next games will most likely release Holiday 2024. The expectation is to play SV till then, which the casual playerbase will not without a mode like Tera adventures! Hope that cleared up some confusion!

I replay my favorite Pokemon games… red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, ruby, sapphire, coliseum, gale of darkness, platinum, legends Arceus, and actually scarlet, violet (after dropping off pokemon in Pokemon home)

Raids are not gonna save SV. Tera adventures are not gonna save SV. Once people do everything there is to do in the Indigo Disk, it'll be back to business as usual with the majority of players only coming back to the game for 7 star raids.

For someone who did not play Gen 8 and D.A, I cannot say much of this complaint/rant. We still don't know much on the full contents of DLC2. There maybe a lot more to do imo. 👀 It just depends on what you do with the game itself. Take MandJTV and PM7 when they do contents. Its not just raids or shiny hunts or legendaries. But I guess it depends on the person on how he/she will do the game.

I am assuming GF will continue to do different 7 star tera raids every month or so as they have done recently to keep players entertained, a few mystery gifts and outbreaks here and there like they did with Eevee but do agree with you, what next?

The game industry has shifted to a “monthly players” model so as long as someone opens the game once within a month, it’s considered a win for the developer. But what about the people who play this game daily? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

While Gamefreak has a record for spoiling their own games, I don’t think they’re revealing everything this time, so I believe there’s still hope. If this were the past, we’d know about Dipplin’s evo, we’d know what’s up with Paradoxes, we’d know about the last members of those paradoxes trios, etc. I know it’s not a lot they kept hidden but it could also mean there’s more to be found in the actual game so I’m staying hopeful

i think dynamax adventures would be pretty difficult with terastallization, cause the defensive type would be totally different to the offensive type and it'd just lead to a bad player experience when online with randoms

Gamefreak is definitely gearing up to announce a new game, whether that's a remake, a new Legends, or gen10, so while I am hopeful that Indigo Disk is gonna come with a little more robust of an end game, I'm not sure it'll be as substantial of what many are hoping for

The problem is when a game get announced, that’s the knife in the coffin of the current game. And then Gamefreak goes radio silent for 6 months. Regardless I’m hyped for what they are releasing whether it be Legends Arceus/Kyreum, BW3, etc

@EastsidedTTV there are a few methods out there to maximize coverage on the dig sites that I've seen (BDSP is new to me). My method just maximizes chances at Large shards, so can burn through dig sites faster. I'm sure someone has come up with a better way to explain the method I use, but the YT algorithm probably ate it. The bes way I can describe it is 'like a knight in chess' My method drives my own OCD pretty crazy, because it pretty much ignores the existence of small shards. Either way... I've never Masuda method a shiny, but I feel like this is a similar fruitless grind.

Rather than Battle Tower I wish they brought back the Battle Video feature from 3DS games. I think most people maybe didn't even know you could do this but you could not just replay the videos but also rebattle, so if you made like 100 competitive teams you could battle the computer which was marginally more intelligent and also included better items and movesets than the tower since it was basically your own or friend's Pokemon. I made Gym leader teams for each type and then would (and still do) play to beat them and it was pretty challenging. I don't think they'd ever bring it back but I wish they did, maybe it's even the best feature the franchise has ever had imo.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. I dropped SV in about June and started hunting in dynamax adventures or playing through Gold again on my 2DS. Let’s hope they add the rest of the legendaries and mythicals in raids.
