I had sisterlocks for 4 years and right away I used conditioner. My hair was always dry and even more so with locs. I used organix brand. It worked great and no build up. Then I used a mixture of rose water that has glycerin in it, water, essential oils, and aloe vera, worked great. But every ones different, dont be afraid to try things and see what works for you.
I know my hair, and it needs a conditioner. I dilute it with water and put it in a spray bottle. I haven't experienced dryness with my microlocs. Just listen to your hair and do what works best for your hair.
I'm a loose natural and have no intention of locing my hair but have been binging your videos for 3 consecutive days now. I must say, your mom's front-of camera confidence has grown so much. I love to see it! Also, her eye shape is so pretty 💕✊🏾🇿🇦
I agree with mom on the size vs number thing. Kind of like quality over quantity. I have sister locks and my loctician told me that she was more concerned with the overall health of my locks in the long run than the number. I have about 434 locks currently. We discussed combining if need be. As much as i love my grid and all of that i want my hair to thrive and be strong first.
Your mom is so funny. You guys remind me of the relationship I have with my mother. Everybody thinks we are sisters! But, I love both of you guys hair.
I had to use oil in my locs in the beginning stages because my hair was so dry. Just using water didn’t work for me. Try the daily leave in conditioner by Yadain Cultural Solutions for dryness, or add aloe Vera juice to your water and glycerin spray and see if that works
I LOOOOOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!! You and your mom are sooo funny and I truly enjoying watching u both lol!! This is my 4th time starting my loc journey and I’m more so excited this time than I was the last 3 times. You’ve bn one of my main inspirations to start again(plus the easiness of having locs) What’s the name of the oil you use again??👀 I’m in between deciding on what products to use for me and I’d love to try that oil
I’m with your mom about my hair and decision to Loc. I love my Sisterlocks. I have very thick hair and if I had to do it again, I would do microlocs. I started my daughters and should have made them smaller.
Thanks for sharing newbie. Love you and your mom already. I have traditional locs (2nd go round) and I am in the process of taking them down again going to do mirco locs. Thanks for the content.
@@TyKaraAnn you have to think of it as a whole and what would 1/out of(whatever) takes to get to 100. So for 1/4, 1 of them equals 25 x 4 so that gets you to 100 or 100% or 1 whole pie etc.. $25 x 4 gives you $100 so that would be 1/4. Each one is 25 and 4 of them equals 100. So with 1/8 that would be about 12.5 X8 will get you to 100. $12.50 in 8 rows will get you $100. 1/4 takes less rows of money, slices of pizza, etc to get to a whole and 1/8 takes more because its half (smaller in amount)the size of 1/4. Hope that helps and it could be applied to 1/3 as well 33.3 x 3 is 99.9 basically 100. Sorry but this something i struggled with so now that i get it i try to explain to help people not just tell them it's wrong but how.
I condition once a month, I spray my hair daily (rose water mix I listed on your other video) because I have dryness to. I do not have mirco locs I do have traditional locs and this is what I was taught. I do not wash mine every week but every two weeks.
I’m late for the questions, sorry. How often do you do your retightenings? I have not been on a consistent schedule. I am now 8 months in and finally seeing some growth. I retightened my hair times so far. But like you, my micro twists are no where near locked.
I think your mom might like the Melanin Haircare oil. It’s an excellent sealant, so it’ll keep her hair moisturized after washing without being greasy.
Awesome job ladies. Tell Grandma I said Hello and may we can get a photo of the back of her head? I'm living to see hers as well. I understand her not wanting to be fo la laing with RU-vid!
If you want to avoid matting, one thing you can do when you wash is braid and band your hair. A second thing you can do after washing is separating your roots.
