Daily Vlog# 1708 Leaving an Island on a very windy day on a top heavy slow boat taxi is not going to be fun. We decide to not jump waves in a Thai style speed boat but play it safe on the slow ride. Turned out to be not so safe. Leaving Koh Samet to Prachinburi.

I actually put a life preserver on my back pack. Not myself. I was more concerned with recovering data from my computer if we keeled over. Was an interesting ride for sure. Safe travels thanks for the good times Chuck and Paige 👍😎🙏

Hi Chuck ,thanks for the video, True story, 1980s Ferry from BanPae to KOh Samet ,Storm, engine stopped , took in water, NO life jackets, handfull of Chinese screaming,Thais quietly praying, boat sank, rescued by passing ferry ,returned to Banpae , more injuries getting off the boat during the bad seas. I have been back several times without incident

I day visited Koh Samet from Pattaya....in August 2023 . Island has its own nice and calm character ...loved it. Water is pretty rough due to the narrow pass i guess

That boat trip looked a bit hairy. Unfortunately most operators don't seem to care about the passengers and overloading too much. Great adventure so far. Bushyboy Oz

Incompetent boat crew! You hear about that every once in a while, especially in Asia. Where a fairy boat goes down and kills a bunch of people. It usually incompetence undertrained. I’m a good swimmer, but I would’ve had a life vest on that’s for sure! I also would’ve been riding by the high rail to be able to climb out on the side of the boat when it goes over. Glad you guys made it safe!

I Shoudn't laugh but you on the boat and your concerns filming leaning to the other side To settle things was serious 🤣😁Personally i feel the Thai hierarchy need to take a good look at things ,The Chinese packing out the hotels regardless what they spend out and about is the best way forward ..No mention of the hard working people on every Hidden Soi trying to make a living which most of us enjoy and the reason we love Thailand and the people ❤Sorry for the rant Chuck 🤦‍♂But i could write Paragraphs on the subject

Wow the Chinese tourist groups are back. Good good. Well many Chinese tourists travel with group packages because its easier. And they get to eat what they are used to. And its also because of the language barrier. These tourists do buy some souvenirs but not much as most are made in china anyways 😂 Mostly there for sightseeing food massages . And many of them haven't swim in the sea before which makes it dangerous because of under currents etc . Mostly first timers will travel with group tours then they will return individually for the crazy shopping.

I have been teaching for over 4 yrs in Thailand. I never got a TEFL. I work with NNES and they can make as much as 40k/mo. teaching science and math. I have a Bachelor’s of Music and teach conversational English and I am looking for full-time work teaching music. That’s very difficult to find.

I'm with ya on the tour groups everywhere. It def gets annoying. I 'can' however put in 'my 2 cents' on your comment about the money they spend. It def gets to all... think of it as NOT bidenomics (cover for wealth transfer) as we know that does NOT work.. it's called trickle down economics, which DOES work and reaches everyone. From the airport to the corner store. 💯😜👍 and the hotel you stayed in in pattaya is where we stay every time. 😊glad to see the crazy rock place behind is still there... 🫨
