You should try the new Zoom MS70-CDR+ when it comes out. Probably an amazing unit to pair with the irx

I tried it in my amp’s fx loop and it worked perfectly with no tone change issue. Yours sounded like something was still on and it wasn’t perfectly clean.

Thanks for the vid Jordan. I am so glad you posted this. I was wondering the exact same thing. I have a UAD Lion and there is no FX loop. I was looking to see if I could run the Express post for FX only just like this before jumping in. I had the same concern. If you figure out away around without the FX loop. Please post.

Just ran the same experiment. Maybe a very slight change in the tone with the Pod Express on vs. off (with cabs and amp off) -- but nothing like the difference you had. I suspect you don't have the volume on the Pod on full. That would give you the result you heard.

Did you happen to figure out the issue? The way you want to run it is also the way I’m looking at running it for just effects

Are you using a TRS cable between them? Or is it in the loop? IR/X might be overdriving the pod or vice versa

Where is your line out coming from? I have run this rig for many gigs as my “fly rig” since it came out. I have a a rehearsal tonight and gigs this weekend and the IRX is the mainstay on the rig. Signal chain, guitar to pedalboard (wha,tuner,90,IRX) fx send goes to Keeley 30ms with mod and verb. That signal is into my lonestar (fxreturn) which also acts my backup amp. The dry signal from the keeley goes to a baby bomb 30 power amp and Mesa 1x12. Btw, main guitar is Tom Anderson Cobra, YJM strat or 76 les Paul deluxe.

Just looks like you need to have the amp encoder knob turned to the small grey dot in the 6 o’clock position. Maybe do a factory reset to make sure the global settings are all default.

I would split my guitar to both units and operate as if you are playing 2 amps in tandem. (I usre this concept when recording but actually that rig is 3 way, there's 2 different amps in tandem with rack effects in their loops, and individually mic'd. And there's a rack modeling system plus effects that goes direct to board then it's all mixed to taste for the final product. Although many people recommend the Radial Shotgun, I have had no problem splitting with an Ernie Ball volume pedal - tuner out. Also is that IRX running a cab IR?)

Try it with a TC Electronic Plethora! 4 cable method.

Maybe you were on a preset with distortion enabled.

Press and Hold both the ALT button and the TAP switch while turning the AMP encoder to select a cab model (or none). ... I hope this helps... Joe
