Overall, great video. I just ran into your channel. Do you have a very low hookup percentage ratio! From your video, it looks like your rod is too stiff, or your line doesn’t have enough stretch. If you’re using a crank bait with trouble hooks, you want some flex so that you don’t rip out your bait from the fishes mouth. I get it that you have this awesome Shimano scorpion DCB caster. But your rod in line come in to play.
Had to re-watch this video just got this 3 months ago put it on Go to rod , love it , but now got googan muscle rod 💪 that I want try it on it hard get in Canada the googan rods
Um..... It's a DC! Its 350-400$....... outta carlotta our ballparks......😔 But glad you caught multiple fish on it. If I have several hundred dollars definitely what I'd get!
The present day DC technology seems pretty basic. I can envision a DC reel with an electric eye that can see when the line begins to lift off the spool and act to slow the spool so the reel will *never* backlash.
My man says he has a reel addiction. Meanwhile I have 3 or 4 brand new baitcasters coming in the mail and about to order a metanium right now. I was about to buy this from Japan since my friend lives there. BUT the American version which is the curado DC casts 20+ yards further on average. It's just smoother and has a lighter spool which is probably the reason why it doesn't cast as far. I can get that scorpion for $230 shipped. Personally I would rather buy the 2017 Shimano scorpion rather than the 2021 version you are holding as that version will outcast the curado DC.
I think I am going to order one of these soon. I was going to go for an SLX DC or Curado DC but the JDM Scorpion DC looks nice. Plus cheaper than the Curado bought in the states.
I won a BFS gomexus handle from fishermandadjimi and it didn't fit my diawa tatula so the wife says just buy a reel that it will fit and after some research I went with a slx because of the lightweight gear that can be used with it without going with a BFS reel and will be putting it on my gold reaction rod and had to get a new rod for the diawa so I got a gold muscle rod
You mentioned no DC whine right out of the box, prob the regenerative charging needs some casts to kick in. My first Curado DC I thought was a bad one before getting several casts on it. Just ordered a Scorpion on a whim because of two naked Zodias rods just sitting there. I have a few Curado DCs and an Exsence DC etc. but was usually too busy concentrating on catching to pay much attention to the reels. A few years ago fishing Brazil with the Antares DC MD I switched from a big 2 oz woodchopper to a 3/4 oz sinking lure, without making any setting changes. The first few casts after downsizing didn't go very far but each successive cast went considerably further until after five casts it was way out there. Very cool, the reel learns the lure.
Ill say this for you tho, the lake in the background of your video looks incredible to fish. Smoke on the water, early in the am. Looks just sweet for a 10lber at minimum.
dude...i just dropped it in the freakin dirt...you can't even make this up...you really can't...pulls it out of the box...you just can't make this stuff up...i literally just dropped it...oh my gosh, why did that happen...Logan 2021
Idk it is nice man but in a way if I have a reel I o most cry over dropping it on the dirt from 4 feet I’m not sure I’d want it seems like u would b scared to use it for fear of getting it dirty idk not being rude but is nice gear
@@LoganAndersonFishing it is really nice I just got a Slx Mgl the other day I love it ive always used lews so that’s my first but so far so good it was like 150 $ so not to bad
What is your favorite DC reel that you have used before Having a addiction of buying reels or fishing gear is better than being addicted to drugs or something like that.
@@LoganAndersonFishing I just ordered this off eBay for 190$ was gonna get the Curado dc but for the price I couldn’t pass it up. The USD is so strong compared to the JPY that it’s actually cheaper then buying the Curado. Hope I made the right choice
Nice. Got the same one. It’s an amazing reel. It can cast super far and no backlash. The only thing o didn’t like was the drag. I has to tighten the drag a lot or else it would slip. I was going to ask were you able to fix that I saw you had the same problem on you video.
Drags are supposed to slip. It's the whole reason it's on the reel. Why would they put them on every reel if they intended everyone to tighten it down until its locked and doesn't slip.
I personally like the original scorpion DC better cause it has the automatic setting and the new one doesn't.. but the new one is certainly eye catching especially cause it's super shinny 😂 the black one is much better.
Besides one being made in America & one In Japan what is truly the difference between the Japanese version via the American made DC reels!!???🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
For really light lures and any into the breeze casting it’s not about thumb control and skill, the chip controls the spool in ways your thumb just can’t without taking way too much momentum off the spool and severely limiting distance. It’s about the electronics helping with the physics of casting light lures. No noobs are buying $250+ reels anyways and they certainly aren’t normally casting the types of lures that the DC reels excel at (spybaits, jerkbaits, Ned rigs, shaky heads, square bills)
Omg hiiii Logan I bought 2 of all the googie rods and I bought all of the reels you own omg can you send me some of your hair I have cashapp btw also I bought all of my fave googie baits and scented green googies because y’all sell them for a reasonable price point
Omg I love my googan rods even though you can get good rods like the st croix mojo bass and bassx and even the triumph but still googie is life ya know
Ordered mine a few days ago. Should be here in a week or so from Japan. So excited to get it. Been trying to decide what rod to pair it with. Was considering the gold series but wasn’t sure how they’d look together. I must say it looks pretty clean
