The Cavs season is over after a loss to the Celtics, what that means for the future of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland... and the Thunder lose game 5 to the Mavs. #donovanmitchell #nba #cavaliers
If Mitchell is willing to resign long term he is the OBVIOUS choice. No thought needed. Especially after the terrible year DG had there is too much uncertainty surrounding him.
@@jowasijo yea but Mitchell's at his peak ceiling and he isn't really that much of a gamechanger. There's at least some potential un garland, tho not much better if we're being honest
So why didn’t he sign the extension? Bro doesn’t wanna be in Ohio he’s from New York lol I mean 😆 Small market Cleveland Ohio or New York City the 2nd largest market next to California… I’m js Bro wants to come home and it’s the leagues worst kept secret.
@@boris2997 it actually makes sense to wait until this offseason because he could get more money this offseason as opposed to getting it last offseason. Get some knowledge before you speak nonsense
@@JoeyBK_86 the Knicks don’t want him. Brooklyn is bad. Simple as that he is not going to NY. After he is traded the heat and lakers will not be better than the Cavs had he stayed. His best option is Cleveland, like it or not
You did not just say dynamic..... This offense has been anything but that. Look up the definition and please explain how this team has been dynamic.... JB has only made attempts to change up the scheme or rotation due to injuries... like wtf... and when he found things that worked he went away from those things... not dynamic at all
@davyunwashington3613 honestly, I did actually miss that part. Lol. That said,, the coach needs to create an offense that keeps everyone involved and JB didn't do that throughout the year. My bad, I did miss that
Everyone says this bs. Check the numbers the numbers show they can play together. Idc. about yo eye test so don’t say it. Numbers speak truth and the numbers say they can play together
People will say anything to push the narrative of Donovan leaving Cleveland. He could come out tomorrow and say he’s signing an extension and people will still start rumors about him going to big market teams. Cause apparently a small market team that has to built their team from scratch can’t have anything.
At last, someone says something logical, all this crap leaking after is highly suspicious and I'm sorry but unless it's coming from the people involved I call bullshit on any "drama or news" they just want this team to fail and break up so their big market teams and cherry pick the pieces they want for their teams, this team is a consistent playoff contender and if healthy can make a run and that scares media that only want big market or "sexy" teams to have success
@@jonathanparker1774either way that backcourt duo and their overall team doesn't play to each others strengths I'd say trade garland and if mitch don't resign then trade both or keep garland and actually build around him in the first place
It’s incredibly frustrating. He was just quoted in saying “I am happy in Cleveland, I’ve been happy ever since I have arrived.” He’s constantly wearing Browns and Indians gear. He’s constantly going to those teams games. Despite all of this, you get lazy takes like this that “Mitchell wants out” and “Cleveland is trading Mitchell.” You’d think that this dude would take 5 minutes to do some research considering he is a fan of a small market team, but he’s just as lazy as the mainstream media.
Mitch should honestly go to atlanta for Trae Young him and Dejounte would work and garland to brooklyn for mikal bridges cause i doubt he has too much value atp and it's not necessarily his fault
I’ve been saying that for months. Cleveland needs to trade one of Mitchell or Garland. Mitchell likes being in Cleveland. He was quoted in saying “I am happy in Cleveland, I’ve been happy ever since I arrived.”
I can guarantee you the Knicks aren't trading for Mitchell now. When Brunson was more of an unknown and the Knicks were coming off a mediocre season, it made more sense. Now, they've built their entire roster on fit and, when healthy, it fits like a glove. Garland and Allen are getting traded if Spida is extended. If he's not re-signing, he'll be traded to Miami or Brooklyn, not the Knicks.
The fact that OKC es shooting poorly is not bad luck, at least not in any significant sense. When the physicality of the playoffs defense goes up the jump shot is less efficient, you cannot get enough lift or separation. In short, it is the intense playoffs defense.
@@sgrey9181 not at all. the Cavs need players. Specifically very good wings. Best possible trade is a swap dg for Brandon Ingram. The spurs can’t to anything close to that
Spida is now stuck in the same situation in Jazz - Cav's not good enough for a champ, but no better team has a fit for him. This is probably just fate.
Ngl I agree with the garland take, so many people want him to get traded rn like they forgot he had a bad injury and he’s only the age of 24. Sure he hasn’t been the best, but I think it’s too quick to give up on a young player like that, especially since he’s the reason the Cavs were in the situation of getting Donovan in the first place and got them the buzz they have right now.
I DoNt tHinK MiTchEll wiLL sTaY even though most reports around the league say he’s leaning more towards signing an extension with Cleveland. Hate some more Tuc. You’re not getting him in Brooklyn lol
I feel like OKC to me is a year ahead of schedule and can make the move or moves to get better next season quickly. Add some more size upfront and a few ancillary additions and they got something.😊
Why ppl don’t want Donovan Mitchell on the Cavs? I swear every since he got there ppl been creating fake drama saying he’s unhappy & that he wants to be traded
I honestly think people just want him to leave imo. Or maybe I just don’t know basketball but the cavs are not a bad team. And had a legit chance to beat the Celtics if Donavan Mitchell didn’t give up
@@t-god2439 Yeah brian windhorst keeps mentioning them but the fit makes zero sense for him. Unless he really just wants to play in NY and doesn't care about winning.
I feel like OKC might force a game 7, but I don’t think they’ll win the series. Especially after last night it seemed like they still have some growing pains to go through and this is one of them. SGA held onto the ball too much for my liking and it seemed like he couldn’t decide if he wanted to take over or facility, then when facilitating his guys seemed hesitant to take shots. When he tried to take over it definitely was forcing bad shots. All that to me gets resolved over time and experience which sadly they are almost out of this year, but I presume they come back even better next year with a post season run of experience to learn from
That was my takeaway from the game too. Thunder were not shooting well. In game 5, they had tons of open looks that they didn’t make. Then they started attacking the close out a bunch when they should have shot the ball (probably loss of confidence shooting). Mavs we’re daring OKC to shoot from 3
The Brooklyn Celtics are getting 🕷️ 😂 What’s funny about this is the Cs are this good because of us 😂 Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were the Brooklyn Nets picks in 2016 and 2017 😂 and we traded them for bums. That sh** hurts my soul as a Nets fan
Mavs defense works until they match up with beefy bigs and a team that can draw their bigs out of the paint. I give them an A for what they have done this season but Denver or a healthy Boston gonna bounce them
Did someone else notice how all Mitchell teams look miserable? It could be that playing with a ballhog diva isnt that fun even if there is not real pressure cause nobody thinks a team lead by him is a real contender?
I think people are wayyyyyyy underestimating the possibility that Mitchell stays in Cleveland. The guy has gone exceedingly far beyond what is expected of him to maintain a good image for Cleveland fans, it almost feels too weird that he would do all this if he really didn't want to stay here. I actually think the most likely outcome is the Cavs trade Garland and keep Mitchell, Mobley and Allen.
I don’t think JB Bickerstaff is a bad coach, but he needs to understand that he needs to get Evan Mobley more involved and let transition into a star rather than just a defensive anchor.
I mean players speak fluff all the time but since those reports Donovan keeps saying he’s been happy and Cleveland and is happy in Cleveland. I think this offseason they could really get him some help if they move Allen and potentially garland. When Garland was out and Spida took over the team the Cavs played the best basketball of the season and looked confident as the second seed
I really don’t think it’s Dallas defense. The thunder are a young team in a cold streak. And again, nobody picked them to even make the playoffs this year or had them as a top seed. They’re ahead of schedule. This off season they need to prioritize adding a Big wing/ mobile big man. Ironically Gafford is who I wanted them to go after.
Cavs no. 1 priority is draft bronny and get lebron and cavs is a instant championship contender but the only issue is will lebron willing get paid less
I'm curious to hear more about his injury. Is it more serious than made out to be? Seems pretty soft to be giving up on the playoffs because your calf is sore, not that they would have made it out of the second round even if he was healthy.
Cleveland has to answer this question right here: How close are we to Boston, Philly, or the Knicks and how can we realistically close the gap? If they can’t realistically close the gap on those teams what are the options?
Oh wow, it’s almost like Mitchell has liked being in Cleveland this whole time. He was just quoted in saying “I am happy in Cleveland, I’ve been happy ever since I have arrived.” But please, keep trying to trade Mitchell 🤡🤦♂️
Miami hawks are about as real as lebron staying in LA if bronny ends up somewhere else. this coming from a laker fan. Mitchell Garland or Allen in LA would be interesting
Weird is anyone thinking the Lakers got a shot at getting D Mitch... Dude is gonna write his own story wherever that may end up and if its a trade then somebody better open up their vault gonna be EX=$pen-$ive
Cleveland lost, cause,Alen, and Strus didn't do shit, Especially Sturs,he scored,7 points a game in these playoffs. So glad Maimi didn't keep Sturs,he isn't worth,$16 million.
Let's be honest. Cleveland had no business trading for Mitchell. Players like him want to go to contenders or at the very least teams with an established superstar that could contend with him.
I give Cleveland credit though. They rolled the dice hoping to hit a hard 8. But instead they rolled a 7. They gambled and lost. But at least they didn't sit on their ass doing nothing.
Read the tea leaves tucker why would darius want out if donovan stays mean donovan staying is much more likely then you think. His agent wouldn't threaten to request a trade if he felt donovan was leaving forsure. Also the Mobley not wanting to be In cleveland at the end of that it says he's happy and wants to be now.
Tuck I think is what's gonna happen with cleveland Mitchell shocks casuals and resigns Cavs trade darius and Jarret and depending if they can get somebody like Brandon Ingram or not in a trade build around donny and Mobley.
Perfect scenario for the Cavs is Mitchell resigns and they swap DG for Brandon Ingram. Idk exactly what to do about JA but I think committing to Mitchell and getting a star forward is the way for cleveland
@@johnhamilton2914 Hey Clevelands front office seems to be having a mental break down so take advantage it I say add a 1st and 2nd rounder good to go lololol
Donovan Mitchell is definitely overrated. He is a shoot first point guard with some attitude problems and lacks leadership. You can see it in his body language and how his tenures in Utah and Cleveland has gone. I don't think if he's your franchise player you are seriously competing. The archetype of a Donovan Mitchell player isn't a winning one, besides the regular season.
