This Donovan Mitchell Trade Makes PERFECT Sense...

So after the Cleveland Cavaliers got bounced in 5 games to the New York Knicks in the first round last season the Donovan Mitchell rumors really started to heat up, and they never slowed down. As a Cavs fan myself it hurts to talk about this, but if the cavs make an early exit in this years playoffs again, changes will need to be made, and that does mean Cleveland should trade mitchell and get what they can now before he walks, and honestly, i may be the first to say this, but i think Spida is a little bit overrated, hes obviously a great All NBA player, he puts up great stats in both the regular and postseason, but when it comes to leading a team, he's not a guy that makes you a contender, and what i've noticed in last year's playoffs and this years is that he tends to have great games early on in playoff series, but then he will disappear when things start to go wrong later on. I really did believe in the core of Garland, Mitchell, Mobley, and Allen, but I've come to the realization that they guys aren't gonna sniff a finals appearance in the next 4 years and because of that the cavs either need to retool or rebuild. And I have the perfect trade that allows them to do that.

Ngl, giving up on garland at the age of 24 is a pretty outrageous take. Though I could be bias since he’s my favorite player in the league (besides Anthony edwards)

The Heat trade may be good for Garland (only one first) but not Mitchell. You would have to give Cleveland their preference of an additional first or Jovic. The Cavs are giving unprotected firsts for the next 3 out of 5 years and pick swaps in the other 2. I think Herro and Garland/Mitchell would be very good complimentary backcourt. They would trade better results in big games with that combo than what they trade now. I think what Mitchell would cost and his injury concerns, If take Garland as a true PG. The Cavs CAN NOT rebuild for the next five years. It well be counter productive to be bad because they are giving away the picks. They have to at least make the playoffs.

I am tired of people trying to make another team better while also trying to make us worse. NO the team needs time to gel together this team has not even been together a full year completely. No Trades just play better and run it back.

I would Donovan on the Heat and if he wants to stay we move on. Then we go get Dejounte or Malik Monk for Herro and first round pick. Draft a big like Zach Edey and Alex Karaban in the 2nd round. Watch Garland go to the Spurs and end up averaging 25-10-4 and Mitchell go to the Heat and up making the Finals or Conference Finals every season the Cavs are a dysfunctional organization Bron just made them look stable in reality they aren’t at all we seen what happened when KPJ and Lauri Markkenen left they both elevated their game the same will happen with Mitchell,Garland and Allen the only good thing is though Mobley will elevate his game and most likely be an All-Star almost every season cause he will be surrounded with shooters and the 1st option most likely.

KPJ was a headcase and the best thing the Cavs did in the last few years was ship his ass out to be someone else;s problem. And Lauri simply didn't fit our scheme he did better once he didn't have two non shooting bigs clogging the paint next to him in Mobley and Allen.

As much as I love the Cavs, I think they need to rebuild around a piece like Mobley I know for most it sucks but I think Cavs need to move the furniture including players and coaches and Koby Altman. Me personally love the rebuild if the team does it the right way so I think Mitchell is either going to get traded or he is going to walk so I think he should get traded before it’s to late. I love your opinion and thoughts on this. Go Cavs

I agree in principle but idk about a build around Mobley. I don’t know if he can carry a team. I think a garland with a 3 and D shooting guard would get you further. Mitchell in my opinion should have been traded before this past trade deadline line.. However do you think if we had a bigger SF and size off the bench do you think we would be more well rounded.

You missed on this take. Garland and Mitchell definitely don't work together but that's because they play the same game. calling these other guys 'pitiful' is a stretch. the roster needs to rebuild around Garland and feel free to trade everyone else. cavs front court and SF is way to undersized rn for garland and Mitchell to be the main guys.

@@spencerpremier I suppose what I’m trying to say is garland fall off is because Donavon is there. I blame Donavan a lot more than garland due to how the roster was created Donavon had four more points in that last game.. they are literally the same player Garland passing up a layup to turn the ball over when trying to make a comeback did make me want to stare at the sun tho Tbh your take was more solid than I originally gave credit. I’m just mad we lost by a combined 60 points in the last two games.. Keep up the work and thanks for giving time to smaller market teams

Trade Mitchell for Brandon ingram a 1st round pick and Larry Nance Jr we can have Garland at the point, Ingram at Shooting guard, Mobley at PF, Allen at center and try to trade for a bigger SF
