This drawer sucks. Drawer 1 and 3 were great, classic wooden drawers, but for drawer type *MALM,* the IKEA designers obviously were not thinking straight.

This had everything: A firm start, amazing visuals, a gripping narrative, the stages of grief, flashbacks, visual storytelling, comedy, tragedy, you name it.

James makes anything entertaining. He could read all of those manuals that were in that drawer and I would listen to all of it.

Word of advise for anyone who builds stuff from IKEA: Their stuff is really not that bad but you need to know how to handle it. The construction by itself is relatively sturdy but can be improved by use of proper wood glue at some key places such as screws drilling directly into wood, on any tongue and groove connection, on the wood dowels and especially on that flimsy drawer bottoms. The latter ones usually don't break due to heavy load but because they get loose over time and slip out of their groves, loosing their structural support. The glue prevents that. I had some of my IKEA stuff for >20 years and never had any mayor issues with it.

Why did I watch this? I guess it just goes to show that anything James Rolfe is somehow watchable. I could listen to this guy talk about food and it would be awesome. I could watch this guy sit on the toilet and take a dump and somehow it would be like the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I think it just goes to show that this guy and his videos no matter how mundane some of the content can be, this guy has an effect on us all in some way that makes us all feel happy and somehow appreciate the things from our past, even little things like repairing something we have had forever like... a giant chest of drawers.

I have several pieces of this Ikea collection. All I can say is, he's missing the metal support brackets that are supposed to go under each drawer. I would imagine a lot of people not installing those because it seems like an extra step but this is the result.

About the wooden “drawers” in the 80s, shit was built to last. We made shit out of wood, and metal. 80s MegaTron was metal. Get a modern MegaTron. Plastic trash.
