The first gown didn't look like a wedding gown, the second was too tight and the third was perfect. She looked beautiful. I did laugh when they put her hair up in that messy pony/bun and said now it looks elegant. But with the veil it was perfection. She is a beautiful bride and mum and dad were so proud.

I shopped for my wedding dress alone. I wasn't buying the dress for anyone else but me. A wedding dress is very personal, I think. I paid for it, and no opinion but mine mattered. My husband loved it, and that's all that mattered. It turned out that my family loved it too, but I would have been ok with it if they didn't.

I never had this experience when I was choosing my dress. I was all by myself, with a teeny budget. I wish I had a friend or parent there to support men. This brings tears to my eyes.

I love my dad and I would totally love to invite him to go wedding dress hopping with me but he hates clothes shopping and knows nothing about fashion so I think we would all just be miserable lol. To him, every wedding dress is exactly the same. The few times in my life I’ve gone clothes shopping with my dad, he always leaves me alone to go look at sprinklers or something because he’s bored.
