This bride wants her dad's help in order to find the perfect dress. But their opinions might be a lot more different than they thought. Catch Say Yes to the Dress on TLC - Sky 133, Virgin 162, BT TV 323
I didn't like how the bride said she was paying for the dress and David Emmanuel went to the dad and was like ehhh, more money? Can we have more than that? -.- that is unprofessional and so rude.
I'm sure this was all discussed ahead of time before the cameras started rolling. It's very likely dad was already planning on adding to the daughter's budget and they planned this interaction for dramatic effect.
I just find it sexist - he didn't even wait to find out who was paying, just assumed it was "daddy". Even though it was planned out before they could at least consider some more modern thinking!
Dando London is a major designer with a wide range of prices and styles. Like Morilee as well. And Essence Australia. It is only important if the bride likes her dress.
@@stacywestly64 it's just repetitive seeing the same dresses though. I've seen the same Dando London dress in pretty much episode of SYTTDUK whereas when I see Morilee or Essence Australia or even Lazaro, they're different. This show only wants to sell Dandos' dresses because she works there. It's important if the bride likes the dress yes but atleast put her in one that is within her budget, not 700+ over
@@alina5468 it’s still nice to see some other dresses no? Shows they care more about selling their dresses rather than the brides happiness and the experience of trying different dresses
@@alina5468 correct, but they could still offer a wider variety off dresses. It’s the nature of capitalism, but a bridal shop of all places should value a bride’s happiness over a slightly higher profit
I think her dad was right, dresses one and two were pretty but she could do better. I even think she could have found much better than dress 3. Dando London isn't that great a designer I find.
That is perfect bride material She seems like another version of Woosung. Check out his song Face and read the english lyrics. I think you'll get what I mean
Totally agree. Even if you want profit can choose over budget dress around few dollar till $100 extra from original price not double them. But eventually, this kind of business always get success...
She’s a lucky woman to have a father like that, when he said: “That dress makes her look cheap, and she isn’t cheap” it shows he truly cares and love her. He was right tho bcos the dress he likes really makes her looks million dollars and elegant.
And I love that he said it on camera, not in front of her like some entourages probably would have. I agreed with dad in his opinions on the dresses. I think if she'd only brought the women she might have settled too early.
The slit was a bit high for me as well, and I think the father communicated that honestly but without being rude. I quite like him, and most of the dads that I saw go dress shopping with their daughters are sweethearts. I liked the third dress the most.
Lovely thought! Dads often work so hard to raise their daughters, and to what thanks? The bride honored her father, and was rewarded with his insight, his support, and his love❤
I'm so glad that her dad managed to compliment her on the dress and how she looked in it while still stating that he didn't think it was the one for her. THAT'S how you do it
Alina they do he just doesn’t like to bring them out when he can make double by putting them in an expensive dress instead. He doesn’t care about the budget he does this every time.
The bride said $1000, but her father said to go for more if its what she wanted. So in this case, I think $1700 isn't bad. They could have put her in a $4000 with her father not saying how much more he would add.
@@WaitingxInxSilence Even if she did try on more dresses, it would have been a reasonable number as the shooting must have a set timeline. Don't think it evokes such a dramatic response.
I spent $20 on my wedding shoes 😂 they were white knockoff chucks, oh and a few extra dollars because I replaced the shoestrings with ribbons and glued on some plastic pearl rhinestones. I loved them. I was upset with the photographer because she forgot my list of photos I wanted and I was so frazzled that day that I forgot....I wanted some pictures of me wearing my shoes and she only took pictures of the shoes when they were waiting for me in the dressing room 😑 there were a lot of pictures she didn't get...that's the biggest thing I regret about my wedding, but sadly I couldn't have known beforehand. She was "highly recommended" by my wedding decorator and caterer...
@@heathereagle2984 mine were real cheap too.. thing 20 dollar white pumps from Walmart.. I never added anything to them though..just left plain so I could re use them after wedding.
@@vanessam7769 right..but not sure that they arent still to fancy to use elsewhere. My comment was mostly cause they should have allowed her to get the first gown that had the slit, and at least the expensive shoes would be seen. I thought they slitted gown matched the shoes real nice.. and didn't make her appear cheap at all.
She wanted them red bottomed Louis Vuitton heels(unless they're counterfeit). I think she expected daddy to pay for her dress. He actually surprised me when he said the side slit dress made her look tartey. She already looked tartey to begin with. 🙄
I know. But it's a show. Secondly, it's a store with certain price range. These brides know that or should know that. You don't go to Chanel with 1k budget to buy anything but a key chain, if you are rational person who did the homework before shopping. Brides come to this store and ask for bling and glamour and princessy withing budget that can't buy much in that particular store. David knows what he may offer her within that price range and that's why he asks if there is a 'wiggle room'. Besides, it's a job. To me, they are no different than Kleinfeld US version. People forgot first several seasons in Kleinfeld store where they were pushing Pnina's dresses almost double priced that the budget bride gave them to work with. Now it's a Randy the fairy show with consideration towards budgets, because audience hated the way they went about their business there. My favorite shows are Ireland and Lancashire. Irish version is so calming and down to earth, no drama, sweet host and Gok is simply lovely with amazing selection of reasonably priced beautiful gowns. Like plus size bridal with Al and Jo too.
1000 pounds is still a lot. Seriously this guy is annoying. The dress is beautiful but not really unique they could have found atleast one dress that looks like that which is underbudget .
True. Thousand pounds is lot of money for many people. But it doesn't go that far in this particular store. Bling and princess like comes with a price tag. In this store, they simply don't have what she wanted in that price range. In many other stores she would be having much better selection to choose from, but here it's just not the case. I'm surprised that brides opt to be featured in this show and choose this particular store knowing that their money won't go far here. There are bridal stores offering amazing gowns for half of her budget. But no cameras or Diana's designer there. It's a matter of choice and they know what they are doing, I hope.
She's of the right size that she could have bought a sample of a discontinued gown off the rack and had it altered. If she was serious about her budget she would have made them start there. I'm not criticizing her for spending more, just saying with her figure she could have done it if she was willing to pick from older dresses.
I don't think they realize how much 600 dollars/euros makes a different in an ordinary person's life, it's just unfair they deliberately chose dresses that cost that much more
@@ChristinaI A spoiled girl, who spends 800 pounds on shoes nobody can see under a wedding gown, most certainly won't go for 'discontinued'. 1000 Pounds for a dress in that shop, is like asking to stay at the best hotel in London for 80 pounds a night. Not going to happen.
She’s a sweetheart of a daughter. You can tell she values her Parents opinion and trust them to know what’s best for her. I wish her wedding blessings to last a lifetime.🙏🏽
Wow, wow, wow. What a perfect dress for this bride. I love how gentle her father was when her didn't like the first couple of dresses. You can see where she gets her elegance from.
She looked beautiful. It's funny though, usually when the brides are trying on the dresses and their hair is all over the place I look forward to seeing what they look like with it pinned up. In this case however I think she looked much prettier when she first came in with her hair down than when it was up.
Her dad saying she's not cheap is actually something young women should hear more. Dad is teaching her to see herself as a woman of value and not a person who has to low herself by dressing as a sex object to have attention and validity. He's showing he really cares about her and her life's milestones. I never had that and I reckon it's probably the most precious thing in a woman's life.
Dear David Emanuel, Sir you need to learn the definition of the word: “Budget” it’s spelled B-U-D-G-E-T. There are several definitions, however in this case it means; “The total sum of money allocated for a particular purpose.” i.e. Purchasing your wedding dress! P.S. I’m sorry I forgot to mention the poor bride because, I was so upset about David Emanuel constantly going over the budget. Darling you are a beautiful young woman and you’re going to make a lovely Bride!
@@raahmakhan2087 Spoiled because of her spending so much money on shoes and then needing someone else to pay extra for the dress, since in such a shop it's hard to find one with such a small budget. She is spending daddy's money the way she wants.
he didn't go over budget, the dad said he would chip in if it went over the 1k before they started looking lol 1k+ was the budget, wich isn't really specific, wouldn't have blamed him if he tried to sell em something worth 3-4k or something xD
So 50% or more of the comments talking about her going to Lancashire with Gok and the other 50% talking about how much they're tired of Dando London!! 😂😂
What's wrong with all you little princesses, wanting to pick a fight? A 1000 pounds doesn't get you far in such a shop. She should have bought second hand then, or in the shop in the back alley. How DAREEEE SHE COME in with such a ridiculously low 'budget'? Luckily the grown-ups were it bit more realistic.
1. A good sales person will always try to get every Penny plus some from the customers. 2. It’s a tv show, it’s all done for effect! 3. Calm down love, he hasn’t suggest arse raping their pet kitty! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🥴🤦♀️🤦♀️
I think the UK version is my least favourite.. the dresses look outdated and David comes off as more interested in the money that the bride is gonna spend..
So that you don't have to take them off 5 minutes into the reception? I've never worn good high heels cause they're so uncomfortable, so that's all I would expect from expensive ones haha
Talk about father goals, wow her daddy is caring respectful man . I love how he gently protected her from being too exposed bc he knows she’s more elegant. The whole family is so loving and supportive. She looks stunning in the last dress.
Right? I’m so happy for her and I think it’s so wonderful she has that, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me a little jealous. My dad would never act like I was that valuable lol
And the clients should respect the kind of store they walk into. This is a prime store, probably on a prime location. You cannot expect your average little town prices there. Who on earth takes such a low budget to such a store? I find that disrespectful towards the store owner. He carries the dresses of higher end designers. That comes with a price tag. Or do you go to the best restaurant in the city and expect to get a glass of wine for 4 pound? Of course not. So perhaps your brains can prevent your heart from breaking?
One of the best episode. So emotional and lovely . Happy Father’s Day everyone. I am so happy that my baby girl is also blessed with a such a nice dad just like him. 🥰🥰🥰
I think Harriet looked stunning in the last two dresses that she tried on. She is beautiful inside and out and has an incredible family as well. I wish her and her fiancé all the best. 💗
Fabulous shoes, but felt the money could have gone towards her beautiful dress and she paid for it herself. She's very fortunate to have parents that can afford a grand luxury wedding for their daughter. Hope she has a wonderful day and doesn't forget her parents loving generosity.
She should have gone to Gok. He would have respected her budget and find her a beautiful dress. What this shop does is always rude, they never respect the budget
That last dress was perfect on her. Dad has immaculate taste. His wife is beautiful and the daughter is beautiful. Maybe he should be a bridal consultant.👍👍👍.
Her father is a clever man, smart on the fashion and so proud of his daughter. It was the one thing I missed...my dad died while I was still working my way up. After he died no point.
She’s so lucky to have her dad with her all the way and she looks stunning! I wasn’t feeling the first one though. I bet my weight in gold that dad is going to cry on her wedding day🥰
Harriet - Treasure your Dad. He’s a gem! I was the only girl in my generation, and my father’s last words to me were “I never wanted a daughter”. I never had moments like this. You are truly blessed!
