I use a dji mini 2 which will lift a 200 gram bait/rig which is plenty enough for most species and has a bonus with the 4 k zoom lenses and gimble. Droppers can be purchased on ebay with around 300 yards range

I got the fd2 a little while back and I love it ! 600+ yard drops with ease on the tx coast and big baits too dropped a whole jack with it with 1lb spider weight on it as well . Only place I’m getting in a yak will be fl when I’m able to make that trip

ive had 2 fishermen drones they both flw off incontrollably crashing into the ocean not to be seen again not sure why i have had such bad luck with them. Started with a spry plus before stil have it but its one bait drop per battery. Moved to using a phantom 3 and love it just wish it could carry more weight.

Why even have drag on? More drag even just a little will make the drone use more battery with the resistance. I actually lost my DJI drone like 5 years ago because battery just cut out on me while going out pretty far with bait. It was a sad day.

Some states like NC for example it's banned. It's a really stupid law thou because they allow ppl to fly drones with cameras up and down the beach all day and night. From my understanding peoples privacy was the big reason they banned it. Or at least what they used as an excuse.

You did not have to go for fishing in an area you know well that you will get a shark if you throw your bait! That was extremely unfortunate 🤦🏻
