Man you ain’t kidding… I was ranked in the top #30 on Fight Night 2004 for ps2 and even won the middleweight championship belt at one time beating #4 ranked GlassJoe! I was a champion once Lol… FN 2004 on ps2 boxing is seriously the most fun I’ve had online ever!!!
Shawn Porter was one of my favorite fighters when he was active. Fought a lot of the top guys in his division and I always loved his aggressive, buzz saw style. Just watch the 8th round against Andre Berto and it will give you an idea of his work rate.
Really frustrating that they gave fighters a fifa style overall rating. I hoped they would have done a football manager style system, just have ratings for individual stats out of 20 Such as punching power, technique, footwork, speed, toughness, heart, stamina, etc people can make their own minds up based on those stats who the best overall is
That is a really great idea. Adds a little mystery. I really hope they allow us to train lower tier fighters through a career to make them better and then export them into online play. Otherwise no one will use them online. Would also be cool if we could train fighters through a “trainer mode” career then watch our AI controlled fighter vs online AI controlled fighter. Bet $ on your fighter to win with in game currency. Basically a “spectator mode”. 🤷♂️
Wish there were more people like you that play online. I have played a few matches and every one of them were either spammers or only throw power punches. I only had one fight that the person actually wanted to box lol Love these videos :)
I used to have the same problem playing Fight Night 3 & 4 mate, people quit once you get on top it was very annoying. I might have to get this for the Xbox because I've been waiting for a good boxing game to come out for years since the Fight Night days on the 360. If you play on the Xbox let me know, I'll give you a game 👍
You are getting better at cutting the ring off. As for when they are rocked. You are throwing too many shots to one side and it allows them to back up while you are still throwing
Shawn Porter definitely has better natural stamina and endurance than Canelo Alvarez. The Uppercuts look broken. They seriously need to fix that punch. Imagine guys like Gervonta Davis throwing that baby broken uppercut in his game, that would look terrible honestly. Also need to fix the way they block. It just looks weird and generic when they block and curl up there body. I’m not sure why that looks so iffy to me compared to FNC.
Hold up, both of you got knocked down in round 5, and yet the judges scored it a 10-9 round to you?! The judging in this game is bad. They need to improve that ASAP
To rush forward, you need to double tap the L analog stick in the direction of your opponent. This is a bad design choice. It would be better if you could click left stick like you would to sprint in other games to rush forward. It seems kind of cumbersome right now and boxers really do rush in when they see that their opponent is hurt. Right now most of the videos I see are people stunning their opponent and then awkwardly kind of bobbling back and forth or slowly walking toward them while the opponent backs away quickly. Maybe part of the "adrenaline mode" is that your fighter automatically moves faster to close distance. They need to do something because many people seem to not be able to capitalize on stunning their opponent.
He doesn't fight with shorts hands. It's not you. It's the game. The left lead hook to the head is the most accurate and fastest punch in the game. If you throw that same punch to the body it is dramatically slower and far less accurate. When you're an inside fighter (like you did it this video), punches miss a lot from the right hand and any punch to the body unless your opponent stands completely still. Even if they lean their head back, you will still miss the body lol. this problem amplifies the taller your opponent is.
i cant even get an online fight that doesnt disconnect within 5 seconds so i refunded it after 40mins of gameplay :/ hope they fix it, definitely not worth the price they asking
@Tez I believe online matters the most and the game kinda feels clunky anyway, hope they make it better and fix online otherwise will just have to wait for fight night 2
People that have never boxed always think that ever punch in boxing hurts. Why I hate boxing movies. Shit is so fake. I love that they can trade and everything isn’t exaggerated
Bro, when you have an opponent hurt and he’s backing away continue to chase him and only throw one punch at a time until he’s backed himself against the ropes, or don’t throw anything until he has nowhere to run. You throw out the 3 piece combo and while you’re swinging at air he’s continuing to back away and recover.
One thing I notice in all the videos regarding this game is… you can not switch sides during the round which I personally do not like … nor have I seen fighters switch from orthodox to southpaw and vise versa…. Just my opinion…
This has the making of a great boxing franchise… hopefully they fixed the spam punches. Anything after two of the same punch with the same hand should be nerfed and leave you open to a severe damage counter
when they get stunned go for the body don't waste your adrenaline on head shots because they will always block high and back away, if u catch them with body shots they almost always go down just like at 11:06
After the 2nd round u ask what round were they watching. You got to remember u fighting the golden goose of boxing. Even in the game they steal rounds for canelo lol
Ricky you’ve gotten much better over the years. Your earlier Fight Night videos I don’t know but geez you are really good in a lot of these later videos.
To answer your question about one or two fights-I tend to binge and catch-up, not usually catching your videos immediately on release-so 2 fights a video isn’t too long in my book. I even like to tune in to the Friday night fights later on in the weekend as well, and those are hours long, but I also understand trying to cater to shorter attention spans. No worries either way, brother, keep up the great work!

The gameplay is too stiff if you want a good boxing game go play (Fight Night Champion) this is a downgrade from Fight Night Champion it needs major work 👎
