That is crazy - Might be a crack head. I had a crazy experience with a buyer who wanted to return my sealed DVD after opening it, that said in the title "European" , because it won't play in my DVD player. I told her why and I don't accept returns on sealed items after they were opened. Ebay then let her return it anyway but she cracked both discs in half and sent then to me. I had to fight with ebay for 2-3 months but finally got my money back. I find it REALLY NICE how ebay has SELLER PROTECTION - What a joke!

I got scammed out of a 1070 years ago. The Seller was a “ Video Card repair service “ he had me ship it out to him. What I didn’t realize at the time I had shipped it to an international shipping company which probably had orders to ship it to him in another country after the video card had arrived. He stopped responding to me and ghosted me. Never heard from him again. Live and learn.

OMG... that is nuts! The strangest eBay purchase for me was a laptop that was a theft recovery. The thief put a BIOS password on the computer, making it unusable once returned to the owner. She already got an insurance payout, so she sold the laptop on eBay. I bought it and popped the BIOS PW, and realized that all of her photos and documents were still on it. I contacted her, and ended up shipping her a disc with all of her pics/data. She was very grateful, and contacted me periodically for months, thanking me.

btw the clear coating on the console is attacked from the bubble wrap. The guy clearly didn't let it dry enough

A weirdo like this got me banned from eBay 10 years ago, I won an auction for an Xbox game below MSRP and the seller freaked out demanding I pay extra through PayPal. He reported me saying I was extorting him for a good review or something, that website is trash.

I found the sold listing for this on ebay. I'm almost tempted to write the seller and tell him that even if he ever does have anything listed for sale that I'm interested in, I won't buy from him because of how clearly unhinged he is. I'm most likely NOT going to do that, but I am tempted. As for crazy ebay stories, this probably isn't as crazy as yours, but it is on the top of my personal experience list. A few years back, I bought a disc-only copy of a PS1 game which was listed in "Very Good" condition, and no problems could be seen in the pictures provided. The buy-it-now price was very good compared to other listings, so I went ahead and bought it. Now obviously, being that it was a disc only copy, I was not expecting it to come with the original case, manual, artwork, etc. BUT as is a standard when shipping any kind of CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/etc. that is not coming with the original packaging, I was at the very least expecting it to come in some kind of disc envelope or generic cheap disc case. But NOPE.... the guy just put the bare disc inside of a shipping bubble envelope. This blew my mind when I received it. On top of which, the disc did have some visible scratches on it, which IMO goes well against the "Very Good" condition it was listed as. It's not so much that I was worried about it being pristine looking, but I wanted to get a copy that works, so that's why opted for this copy. After seeing the scratches, I went and tested it as thoroughly as I could to make sure it worked, as I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. And this is where things with the seller get humorously ridiculous. Before I even received it, he had messaged me thanking me for the purchase, and asking for good feedback because someone else was (supposedly unfairly) trying to leave him negative feedback. Then after I received the package, I left neutral feedback saying the disc works but seller lacks common sense for not putting it in a generic case or envelope. There was some back and forth in messages about it. He was saying that there was no promise of any kind of case. I said that I didn't expect the original packaging, but it is standard to at minimum put the disc in a generic disc envelope for protection. And it shouldn't be listed as very good if it has scratches on it. And he said that if I want something in pristine condition, to go to Best Buy and buy a current brand new game. Let's just say he didn't last very long on ebay after that. LOL

It is frustrating when people don’t pay same day, but this seller is UNHINGED! 😂

been a member on ebay for 17 years, never seen this before XD, i usually just pay right away to let the seller know i dont mess around, i dont message them unless i have an issue or to thank them or any other questions. thats it.

If he's so worried about getting paid immediately, he should use that option. I use that option on all of my listings.

As a eBay seller myself not super active with it anymore but I've dealt with auctions. As a seller it does suck when the person doesnt pay in a reasonable time or waits until the last day because then you have to relist the item and wait longer but he went pretty extreme about it constantly messaging you about it lol.

Reminds me of a roofing guy I contacted. Was desperate enough I started working through the phone book. Called a guy and he didn't introduce himself. I asked "is this roofing?" And he goes on to ask "who's asking?" I play along a bit and start to explain the job and he says "are you a real customer or are you just trying to sell me leads?" I hung up after that. It's baffling how many people just fly off the handle with potential customers.

What's with this seller? I've been selling on eBay since around 1998 with a 100% feedback rating. At least with my auctions I give the buyer two days to pay. But eBay handles all the transactions, so if you did pay this guy right away, like you said he might not got his money for several days. These messages you shared make no sense.

This reminds me of a skit, well known already in pop culture, the leaving a mean message in your answering machine only to fully regret and totally back peddle and take back what they said, scenario.

I was an eBay reseller as my main income for about 4 years. I had a notepad document with pre-typed messages for a congratulations on winning, reminders, & basic feedback. If I had no payment & no response from my winning congratulations message, on day 4, I'd send an auction winner a friendly reminder to pay. I'd give them a full week (because people get busy, life happens, or whatever) & on day 7, I'd send another friendly reminder, but say something to the effect of "unfortunately since I haven't heard anything in response, I will open an unpaid item case tomorrow." Then when I'd wake up on day 8, one more reminder early in the day, but open a case before I'd go to bed for the night. Never once did I rant excessively to a buyer about other uninvolved buyers, my life, health conditions, or anything else of that nature a handful of hours after an auction ended & days after, haha. This is golden.

I sold some parts on ebay to a guy in Canada I shipped them out right away but the tracking stops for me after the Item leaves the US, the buyer was mad at me for it taking too long, once I explained I have no control over Canada's shipping process the feedback got adjusted from a negative to a positive.

"get ahead on shipping" like just box up the stuff... then print out the shipping label when its payed. how is that a hard concept

I had someone try to scam me for $120 cause they sent me a lower spec quest 2 than they listed and eBay banned them because they admitted to being a scammer and said they would try to ruin my life through eBay messages😭😭😭

I had won an auction one time for a game that I had been looking for. I paid immediately, and it was marked as paid. The seller, however, did not want to give me the game and made a huge fuss over it getting sold for less than he thought he should get (I got the game for $25 and he thought I should've paid $75 for it basically) and threatened to contact eBay legal to let him keep my money and repost the game. When I contacted ebay first with the messages, he left a "neutral" feedback with negative connotations saying we are buy things for under price. His listing had no minimum sale amount either.

My biggest issue is that you can easily see the paint got ruined on it by the bubble wrap. He didn't properly seal and set the paint when done, and it looks like crap.
