Hi Family ! I don’t think Marcus was looking for a thank you from you . I think he was trying to say he did it for his wife because at that time he wasn’t a dreamer like you !! Honestly, I think you missed his whole point but i love the communication between you two .

So glad you put this out there exactly how you did @Blessed! A lot of people didn't see the possibilities or value of social media until the pandemic hit. I traveled all throughout Central America in 2012 alone with a 4-year-old at the time. If I would've known travel vlogging pays in a BIG way, and took it serious, imagine where I would be! But I didn't. At times, people stifle their dreams & creativity to pay bills and to take care of family. It's really only now that people see you can do both! Angel had the vision & she walked in it. That makes her amazing to me! And Tank took care of his family the best way he knew how at the time, I imagine. And that makes him amazing too.

She totally missed it! She was diggin. She really was trying to get him to say something that he wasn’t trying to say. Point blank, it wasn’t my thing or my vision but because you seen the vision I’m in it for you. Definitely don’t think he was looking for a thank you either but kinda pinned him to the wall a bit🤣🤣🤣🤣, I love their dynamic though!

I agree, I can see from his point of view not being a dreamer. He don’t necessarily see the value at first he just knows this will make my wife happy. Now that he sees the money, he’s willing to take it seriously and even start other podcasts. I also see Angel’s point of view where she’s like I wish you just as excited when we first started.

I think Tanks goal in the argument is to come to an agreement and Angels goal is to come to an understanding regardless of an agreement

It seems like Angel getting upset because he's not telling her what she wants to hear? I'm not sure how you can compare podcast Marcus from 2016 before sponsors, before he left his job, etc to him now. It's obvious that he grew with her into his own kind of entertainer and that he knows how to enjoy the process now, whereas before he didn't. So of course he's jumping in feet first with Goolzby. He's more confident in this area and knows what it takes to make it work and the benefits of giving it his all. He learned that from Angel. But it seems like instead of focusing on the fact that she helped her husband grow in this area, she's interrogating his reason for doing in the first place? Why does that matter? You can't go back and change it and it worked out for the best in the end so why is this upsetting?

I’m confused 😐. Both should be allowed to be proud and excited for what they are creating individually and collectively. Without question or concerns that there is anything wrong feeling good about it. Hopefully, all projects will grow and succeed beyond both of your wildest dreams and you both can be happy for one another. Feelings are none negotiable and that’s ok. Angel has pointed out a number of times that she created these podcast and I don’t see anything wrong with that either. #Tanksleyfamily!

And she just didn't want to accept his answer of "No I wasn't into it then, I was just showing up because you wanted to." Knowing his personality on camera/in the blogs that wasn't hard to believe and being his wife I'm sure she knows that. I don't understand why she kept asking. The segment could have been funny or about growth but she was grilling him.

As someone who is married, I didn't think there was anything wrong with Marcus saying he did the podcast for Angel in the beginning. Translation= He trusted your judgment. Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy for Angel to talk about the success now, but it wasn't a guarantee. Your partner is not always going to be motivated to do something new for the same reasons you are and that's okay. It was like she wanted to be showered with praise and thank you's.

This is the same conversation Tank Goolzby and Chance had when discussing their wives as dreamers , kites and them being the string. They simply didn’t see what this social media thing was & it could actually bring in money. The pandemic helped because y’all had our undivided attention but you guys had to go through the growing pains to get to where you are today. Honestly the production on RU-vid and the influencer space didn’t exist back then. Both of your growth has been beautiful to watch

So you can tell the energy was off at the start. However, these topics are more common than not. I can appreciate you both talking it through with respect and honesty. For those pointing fingers in the comments..... this is life and what makes this great and realistic. We are not happy and giddy everyday ,but even on those tough days we can still make an effort to communicate so each person feels heard and find compromise because there may not always be a "right" way or solution. What I learned was some arguments are worth it and some are not. Tone in delivering a response or in conversation is important. And if we both agree to disagree we leave that there and move on. I appreciated this even if it was a bit uncomfortable.

After 23 years of marriage, I understand both points. As a wife, I've had my husband tell me I take our conversations/arguments too far because I'm trying to get to the nitty gritty. He often says we've finished the conversation, why are we still talking about it. He says that as women we talk more than men and so it causes an argument. I get it. We finally agree to disagree and I'm usually the one that just lets it go. Funny, we laugh later after really thinking about it. I enjoy watching both of you because it's like listening to me and my husband. Thanks for showing your realness.

I love you two and how well you seem to cooperate with each other. However I will say it seemed like at the beginning of this episode, it seemed Angel was trying to start an argument. I mean we can't change the past. Considering how they have said Marcus acted previously, why would Angel think he wanted to do the podcast- except to do it for her? She was the dreamer and the one who understood and saw how dreams and ideas came to life in her acting. He would not have known that. So I'm confused as to why she's surprised he only participated for her. And in doing so, he's expanded and now have started to dream as well. Isn't that what we want to see in our relationships? Growth and how we can make each other grow. Maybe I'm wrong.
@tboogie38

@Deee.mcb92
@Deee.mcb92 2 года назад
Exactly. Also, why is it hard for her to hear that her husband did something solely for her? I mean sometimes in marriage you do something for your spouse because they want it and not because you're particularly excited about it but in their case it grew into something Marcus really seems to enjoy now. He's her husband. Of course he wanted to do something for her. And she was the only entertainer in the relationship when they started the podcast. Of course he didn't see much in it for him. I'm just not sure why him admitting that is so upsetting to her.

Angel was harping on trying to get marcus to say he didnt believe in the money like he didn’t have faith or wasn’t ambitious or a hard worker a little too much. That wasn’t what he was saying and I dont think think he was looking for a thank you either he was saying it was your passion and he was willing to team up for something you wanted to try out. Classic kite & string. Marcus just couldn't see what you could see Angel but God bless you for being determined to pull out the potential that you saw in your husband. Marcus God bless you for KNOWING that your wife can see what you can't see and TRUSTING her even still. #realtionshipgoals 💜

This is so interesting!!! My husband's personality seems to align more with Angel. He has made that statement before about needing to make sure he's understood. Not just with me but with anyone. He gets frustrated when he thinks he's being misunderstood or when he thinks someone is putting words in his mouth. He'll continue talking until he feels clarity has been achieved. I tend to struggle because somewhere in the middle of his talking for clarity I sometimes (not all the time) zone out. Not on purpose, but it's hard for me when I feel like he's just saying the same things over and over. Then I start feeling a way cause I start thinking that he thinks I'm this slow to where he needs to keep this conversation going and not just end it. LOL! Him doing all this makes me low key feel like he doesn't think I'm on his team. Angel (or anyone with some sense, lol!), what are some things I can say during these kind of conversations that can make my husband feel understood?

You could repeat what he has said in a way you understand. For example, he says something. You say "Are you saying .. ( give your understanding)..." I tend to seek understanding from others and vice-versa. It's not just understanding, it's the underline feeling and thoughts I wish to understand and express to others. I find that many times people don't say what they feel, or think about something that affects them. Instead they find something else to argue about and not the real thing that affect them.

My husband is you. So when he’s overwhelmed with the conversation we have agreed that he’s allowed to kindly interrupt me and say “ sorry I’m not trying to be dismissive and I really want to come to an understanding but at this point I’m overwhelmed and can’t “hear” anything so can we take a break and come back to the conversation?”. I respect that and we address it at a later time.

I definitely understand Angel. As a wife it can be hurtful to watch your spouse do the exact same thing with another person and be more excited to do it with the other person. I definitely notice Marcus energy is more upbeat in his other podcast (not to say that it shouldn’t be). I do understand things are different for Tank now and he can devote more time and energy to focusing on podcasts now. However, as a wife I wouldn’t want my husband to do something for me and I have to constantly pump and prime him to doing it. Then seeing a friend come along with the same idea and his energy is through the roof about it. I see both sides but I definitely understand where Angel is coming from.
@tboogie38
@tboogie38 2 года назад
I understand but it’s not fair to compare the two. You’re talking about going from not even knowing what a podcast was and basically doing it for free, and for your wife to help support her dreams to seven years later you’ve seen it blow up you’ve seen the value in it and how your participation has helped it. You quit your career so that you can help grow said podcast and other endeavors, But you also have to venture out on your own so you can generate income on this platform that is not tied to your wife. This is the first time that he has done this, so of course it will be exciting. Why feel some type of way about it?
@crystalthomas7155
@crystalthomas7155 2 года назад
I personally would feel some type of way because if you say you were doing it for me, I would hope you would do it with the best attitude even if you didn’t fully understand or see the point. I would prefer you not do it than to do it with a bad attitude or feel like I need to force you to do it. Yes, his attitude changed after he saw the monetary gain. So if he said I just did it to see if I could get money from it, it may have come off differently. So it may seem like Greg is getting the best version of him from the very start and Angel had to endure the rough side of him before getting the better version of him. It may not feel fair to her.
@tboogie38
@tboogie38 2 года назад
@@crystalthomas7155 But, even if it doesn’t feel fair, what can be done about it now? Why be upset now? Isn’t that part of growth? Angel also likes to say that she does all the work and started all these podcasts. So…maybe they don’t feel like they belong to Marcus? But to be upset of something happened so long ago as if it’s happening right now isn’t fair because the person can’t change it.
@crystalthomas7155
@crystalthomas7155 2 года назад
@Nisha Grant I don’t think Angel is upset. She compliments his growth and how well his podcast is doing at the end. She maybe just wanted him to recognize that he has in fact changed. Also, I believe a few podcasts ago she mentioned how Marcus was eagerly building the podcast space for him and Greg but didn’t bring that same energy building their new back drop. So I don’t think all of this is in the past. Also, if something happens in the past, it doesn’t mean you can’t feel a way about it. Feelings aren’t voided because ppl can’t changed what they did. You can choose to forgive and move on but it’s very much possible to be upset, sad, happy, joyful…etc from things that happen in the past.

Why not allow him the space to say his truth without making it an issue. Why must he feel what you feel…and the throwing it in his face about the decision you felt was best is the main reason men like there own outlets…it was slightly emasculating….men think different, he has a family and worried about his roles differently then you. Your dreams don’t mean that’s his…he supported…what’s wrong with that. I’m like Marcus I got to see first before I let go of guaranteed income…

yalls comments are so horrible and just completely dismissive of angels points and feelings. like wow. it’s like men are the only ones that deserve praise or respect to y’all. wanting acknowledgment and praise for leading your family to something so great isn’t wrong, it’s like it’s actually not even a thought to y’all that women/or wives would want to human respect as well. “emasculating”, well i guess tank wasn’t really letting angel rest in her feminine energy by not praising and reaffirming her intelligence and no how on social media, and not centering her in all he does (their podcast). *i can’t even imagine a wife centering her friends anything over her husbands anything and you oldies not lecturing her on how men need to be constantly praised and first in their wives life.* like y’all are so full of it. “throwing it in his face”, acknowledging reality? 💀 this lil argument is long done and over but wow, the way you guys treated this lets me know how much you guys value yourselves. in your homes there’s probably no two way respect and standards and you would let your husband do things to you that you couldn’t dream of doing to him. shout out to tank and angel, wish y’all had less delusional and biased old housewive fans to truly get equal understanding for both respectable viewpoints.

I’m with Angel on this. Of course I won’t say it’s a women thing, but men are solution oriented, whereas we are more let’s break it down so the SPECIFICS won’t come up again as opposed to just this particular situation. Because nuance does matter in situations. Especially in solution finding. You can’t try to fix a machine and keep saying “well that 1 screw don’t matter”.. if it’s a problem and there’s an unaddressed screw. Fix it or screw it. But rather fix it.
