Neville's parents are not dead. The movie doesn't explain it well. It's even worse. Bellatrix, Barty Crouch Jr and the Lestrange brothers tortured them to madness with the cruciatus curse. His parents were left in a vegetative state and do not even recognize their son when he goes to see them at the hospital where they will remain there forever since there is no cure.
That’s easily the must Fucked up fate in the series. I don’t blame them for leaving it out tbh. Every time I read the Saint Mungos visit it shatters my heart.
Harry doesn't help Dumbledore during the fight against Voldemort because.. I mean look at the fight. Dumbledore and Voldemort are way more powerful than him. Harry would just distract Dumbledore by trying to help. And Dumbledore wanted Harry to stay out of it, that's why he pushed Harry back behind him during the fight.
Things in The Order of the Phoenix novel that are not in the movie; Mrs. Fig is a Squib (a person born from a wizarding family but unable to do magic) who was Harry's neighbor for many years. She was even mentioned often throughout the book series. But Harry never knew that Mrs. Fig is actually part of the wizarding community. Harry actually found out about Hagrid being a half giant by mistake during Goblet of Fire. Hagrid's biological mother, Fridwulfa is a giant. Hagrid's father was a wizard. Grawp is Hagrid's brother by way of their giant mother. Ron's brother, Percy had a falling out with the Weasley family. He never believed Harry's story about Voldemort's return and was on the side of the Minister of Magic. Neville's parents are very much alive and are permanent patients at Saint Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies. Because of all the torture that Bellatrix, her husband and Barty Crouch Junior inflicted on them they are mentally damaged. While visiting Mr. Weasley in the hospital Harry, Ron and Hermione come across Neville and his grandmother and was able to meet Neville's parents. The Weasley twins weren't expelled. They quit school. When Harry won the Tri Wizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire he gave his winnings to the twins. Harry originally tried to give it to Cedric's father but he refused to take it. As a result of Harry giving it to the twins Fred and George started using the money to start a side business and made Harry as a secret investor and silent partner. That is why the twins kept inventing all sorts of magical practical joke sweets throughout Order of the Phoenix. When the Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and Luna flew the Thestrals the majority of them couldn't see what it was they were flying. Earlier in the school year they did learn about Thestrals in Magical Beasts class when Hagrid introduced them to the students. Those who had witnessed death had no trouble seeing them. But the rest couldn't and all they saw was raw meat being devoured by some invisible entities. When the group flew the Thestrals it was as if they were flying on thin air. They can feel the animals but couldn't see them. In the end of the book when Harry talks to Dumbledore in his office, Dumbledore reveals that the prophecy actually came from Professor Trelawney and it was he who witnessed Professor Trelawney make prophecy while she was in a trance. The prophecy was; "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..." Dumbledore said that two babies were born at the end of July. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Though the prophecy fit Neville just the same as Harry because Neville's parents also defied Voldemort three times, it was Harry that Voldemort chose to kill instead of Neville. It is believed that Voldemort chose Harry because Harry's mother was a muggleborn. Neville's parents are purebloods. During the last evening at Hogwarts Harry desperately runs to the ghost of Nearly Headless Nick and tries to talk to him about Sirius possibly coming back as a ghost. But Nick tells Harry that the only reason why Nick is a ghost residing at Hogwarts is because he refused to move on to the beyond. He refused to let go and wanted to remain. Nick explained to Harry that Sirius moved on. 📚🪄🔮
Fun fact: It was Umbrige who sent the Dementors to attack Harry. Despite being the longest book of all, this movie is one of the shortest. And although it eliminates many things, it is one of my favorite movies in the saga and I love it.😁😁😁
Harry was acting the way he was acting with his friend for multiple reasons. But the biggest reason was because he was going through major PTSD. The pain was great for him at that time. Unfortunately, he didn't know yet that he was going to suffer an even greater loss.
Here's an interesting bit of trivia. The actor who plays Kingsley Shacklebot who says, "Dumbledore's got style" is also in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' as Captain Katanga who has the ship that tries to rescue Indiana and Marion.
About flying low in central London at the beginning; book Mad Eye had them flying so high they were absolutely freezing. He even suggested they should fly through clouds, but an angry, and cold stiff, Tonks put a stop to that idea. 😅
Imagine the evil dictator with magic skills matched by near no1 else who reigned terror for years, who “died” a decade ago and people started saying he has returned. The minister is weak and can’t accept the truth bc he doesn’t have the brains to beat him, so he slips into denial and anything to divert blame to whistleblowers
I don't know if you caught the little reveal when Umbridge asked Snape to give her more Veritaserum to use on Harry. Snape says that she has used up all of his supply, the last of which was used on Cho during one of Umbridge's interrogation sessions. So Cho didn't snitch & rat out the D.A. (Dumbledore's Army) on purpose. She had no control over the powerful truth serum that Umbridge had given her.
And even then it's not a canon event. It's just something the movies did. In the book it was Cho's friend Marietta who ratted them all out by going to Umbridge. Cho had nothing to do with it in the book. But of course because Marietta wasn't included in this movie, they had Cho be the one who snitched on them all instead
@@EthanDen Well, it appears like she wanted to explain afterward, but Harry walked past and didn't give her a chance to talk. It played out somewhat differently in the book, with Cho's friend Marietta being the one who snitched on them. Marietta got severely punished for that; Hermione had put a hex on the sign-up sheet so that anyone who told on them was permanently marked. Harry and Cho broke up when Cho defended her friend.
Another thing I'm not sure if you noticed, the man holding Harry and Cho in Dumbledore's office was Ron's older brother Percy, who worked for the Minister.

Fudge refused to believe that V was back because he didn't want it to be true. He was always a coward (like he says in Goblet of fire, "I will NOT be seen as a coward!!") and he knew he couldn't deal with V. Fudge always felt inferior to Dumbledore and he knew that D had been asked to become the Ministry for magic before but had turned it down. Umbridge is a powerhungry psychopath who has a thing for Fudge (many hints during the movie) and does his bidding because it suits her. She was the one who sent the dementors after Harry, to quiet him. The ministry is not on Voldemort's side, just corrupt in general, and slowly being infiltrated by V.
Yes, it's very unfortunate Cedric got mixed up in the Goblet of Fire plot. The movie doesn't really expand on it much, but Harry feels a vast amount of guilt for Cedric's death because Harry was the one who suggested they take the cup together. If he hadn't, Cedric would be alive, and Harry blames himself for it. That's part of the reason he was being so rude to his friends at the beginning. He witnessed Cedric's murder, then spent his summer alone because nobody wrote to him (per Dumbledore's orders). He felt abandoned and resentful and hurt. So yeah, that's part of why he was being kind of a jerk at times. He has survivor's guilt and PTSD. That's a lot to deal with, particularly at the age of 15. Oh, and Neville's parents aren't dead exactly. They were tortured into insanity and are basically catatonic and don't recognize Neville, which is why he lives with his grandmother. My favorite line from this movie is Harry's response to Umbridge when she wanted him to tell the centaurs she meant no harm. "I'm sorry, Professor. I must not tell lies." As to what you say about Voldemort being the most powerful wizard, it's said throughout the books that Dumbledore was the only person Voldemort feared.
I like the fight Dumbledore vs Voldi but they made so many things different and made Dumbledore seem like he would struggle to fight voldi but in the books it was clearly Dumbledore who had the upperhand. But ye thats a big critic point for all the movies I guess they didnt really do a great job of adapting Dumbledore in the movies he sometimes was getting angry and physical but in the books he was aaaaaalways calm and collected and you couldnt really tell what he was thinking but he was always in power of the Situation. Also in the books when they wanted to arrest dumbledore he didnt jjust flee, he easily 1v5 ,or idk how many they were, them and then had a talk with harry while they were uncunscios. But ye im hoping the HP series is gonna make a better adaption since they have way mroe time than 2 hours per book
Fred and George had no reason to stay at Hogwarts. They were 17, so the restriction was off as far as performing magic. Harry had won all that money in the Tri-Wizard championship. He tried to give it to Cedric's dad and he wouldn't take. So, Harry invested it into the Weasley's joke shop. Harry is a bit of a rich kid. His dad was from a wealthy wizarding family. When they were killed Harry inherited that. Then Sirius left the Black family fortune to him as his God son.
@@EthanDen Yeah, there is so much left out of the movies. The audio books are really good for this. There are some narrators out there, but the best one is the reading by Jim Dale. We used to play those on long trips for the kids. Kept them busy for hours.

Luna is one of the most sane characters in the series, being different doesn’t make you insane. She is a beautiful example of that. At 15:39 she purposely asks that question in the book, she knows the answer and knows that he is superb at it. She also knows that she has to help convince the room. That simple question, in her tiny voice- does just that.
The minister is like most people in the magic world. You don’t speak Voldemort’s name because doing so legitimizes his existence. But the fact is, regardless of if people say his name or not, doesn’t mean he can’t return or is any less real. Not speaking his name is a false sense of security. For V to stand in front of the minister, he could no longer deny reality. Serious’s death feels very abrupt and kinda glossed over, in the way where you can’t process what just happened. But I’ve always felt this is how Harry must feel. He doesn’t really have time to process the things that are happening because he’s too busy preparing for Voldemort and having to jump into the next thing. Plus he’s already experienced so much trauma, so he’s still trying to process previous things or shut it out. It’s a lot of noise for such a young person to bear, anyone really. He’s doing the best he can while simultaneously not wanting anyone to get hurt. I feel like, he’s in a constant push pull. He knows he needs help but doesn’t want to ask out of fear of what could happen. He doesn’t want to lose anyone else nor does he want anyone else to experience loss like he has. I’m sure this creates a lot of internal conflict. I’ve not read the books, but this is just my perception based on the films.

Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying. When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman. Also.... Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back.... Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*
Here's a Fun Fact to tuck away for now. It'll become informational at a later time. Death Eaters cannot manifest a Patronus. To be able to manifest a Patronus, or even just do a simple Patronus Charm shielding, you have to have some bit of extreme happiness in your life, which does not seem the case for Death Eaters. The reason the Weasley Twins are popping around out of thin air (when you appear it's called apparating; when you disappear it's called disapparating) is because they are now 17 years old. In the Wizarding World, 17 is the age of adulthood, when you take on your adult duties and are held accountable for your actions and choices. The Trace is no longer on you, so you can perform magic wherever you like (and suffer the consequences if there are any). At 17, you are in your final year of school and can choose to quit at any time, but nearly every wizard/witch completes their schooling. Minister Fudge does not want to believe Voldemort has returned for the simple reason that Voldemort is a grave danger to the entire Wizarding World. Voldemort nearly took over when Harry was a baby; that was the First Wizarding War ('First' was added after Voldemort returned and began the Second Wizarding War). It was a horrific time for the Wizarding World, affecting the daily lives of every wizard and witch and resulting in many deaths. For instance, Molly Weasley had an extensive family who were all wiped out, leaving her the sole survivor, and Neville's parents were tortured into incurable madness. Harry's fame is due to his resistance to Voldemort's Death Curse neutralizing Voldemort and ending the threat. But Dumbledore recognized Voldemort would return and things had to be put into place to deal with Voldemort's return. Did you notice in the dream Harry had on the train, Voldemort on the train platform was dressed just like Draco? The first meeting of the student group calling itself 'Dumbledore's Army' takes place at the Hog's Head Inn in Hogsmeade, which is owned and run by a kilted fellow named Aberforth, a no-frills man who has an affinity for goats. Tuck this Fun Fact away for later. Are you paying attention to Ginny Weasley in this film? Did you see her face fall when Hermione tells Harry that Cho couldn't take her eyes off him? Did you see Ginny wait at the Room of Requirement door in hopes of walking out with Harry, only to see him staying behind with Cho? There's a story going on there. Nagini is a venomous snake; her venom shuts down the body's ability to clot blood, leaving the one bitten to bleed to death very quickly. It's also very difficult to treat; Arthur Weasley was in St Mungo's for a full month, his health touch and go, before he recovered enough to be discharged to home care. When he says he wouldn't be here if not for Harry, he's not joking; it was a nearly fatal attack. Harry's vision of Arthur's attack crosses a threshold that Dumbledore and the Order of the Phoenix were aware of; Voldemort and Harry sharing thoughts and visuals. They were putting off teaching Harry how to shield his mind because of his immaturity; it's a complex ability to teach, requiring a lot of discipline, but they ran out of time. There was a reason the Order wasn't including Harry in discussions and plans; he was an open mic for Voldemort once Voldy became aware of it. It was less about him being a child and more about him being untrained and needing a little more age to be trainable. Until then, it's dangerous to tell or show Harry anything. Any secret shared with Harry would be available to Voldemort. Arthur Weasley was attacked while he was guarding the Dept of Mysteries, where Harry's Prophesy was stored. Voldemort wanted it because it might tell Voldemort what threat Harry poses to Voldemort and his plans and how to eliminate Harry.
The whole Cho ratting the D.A out to Umbridge under the influence of Veritaserum(Truth telling potion) is only something the movie did. I want you to understand this because the movie made Cho look like a traitor which is simply not accurate at all. 40:15 Fun Fact: Daniel Radcliffe's (Harry's actor) Grandma passed away the morning the same day before shooting this scene. The muted scream was a genuine reaction to hearing the news. Dan was in soo much pain from losing his grandma, and he was soo emotional during that scene. He started crying for real, and he had to take a break before continuing to shoot. And it was also so painful for everyone to hear that scream. Everyone started to cry, but the actors who played Hermione and Bellatrix were crying the most. In the end, they decide to keep the scene but mute the audio due to how gut wretching the scream was

Perhaps you just glossed past it, but the scene where Serius Black gets killed.... There was no music, no sound at all. You just saw Harry screaming. There was audio, however the scream was too realistic to leave in, it was so visceral! P.S. The Twins shop was funded by Harry.. he won a cash prize with the Tri-Wizard championship. I still don't understand why everyone calls Voldemort "the Great." What greatness is there in murder? Great in power? Now if he could destroy cities with one spell... like Lina Inverse with her "Dragon Slave" (if you know what I mean). But he is not that powerfull...
Sirius had 3 cousins - the daughters of his dad’s brother. The eldest is Bellatrix, who married pureblood wizard Rodolphus Lestrange. They became Death Eaters & Bellatrix is Voldemort’s most loyal follower. The middle sister is Andromeda & she was supposed to marry Rabastan Lestrange, the younger brother of Rodolphus but she refused. She was disowned from the Black family after she married a muggleborn wizard, Ted Tonks. They are the parents of Nymphadora Tonks, the witch who changed her hair color & facial features in this movie. The youngest sister is Narcissa, who married pureblood wizard Lucius Malfoy & is the mother of Draco.
If u knew the books, you‘d know that dumbledore is far more powerful and experienced than voldemort. In this battle he just played defense. You will see in the next movies why he holds back here. If he wanted to he could have killed voldemort but he would have returned everytime, the timing for his death is specific so dumbledore didnt feel like its time to go all out and demolish him
Harry is more powerful than Voldemort. By this point Harry potter overpowered Voldemort in the graveyard. Albus Dumbledore is the most powerful in the films. Merlin is supposed to be the most powerful overall
Dunno if you noticed but when they go to arrest Dumbledore - it's Percy Weasley who has Harry and Cho by the arms. On the subject of whether Dumbledore or Tom were the better wizard, I will say when you get to the Deathly Hallows, otherwise it would be spoilers
