Context: i posted this video for one person to see cause i wanted to show that person that i was no longer struggling on the same boss fights i used to on previous play throughs, I did not ever imagine it would get this many views for it cause of how hard it is to get views on this platform. Im not the best at this game, i played this on hard difficulty which i Don’t believe is even the hardest difficulty. No i am not interested in playing this game at level 1 cause that just isn’t how i like to enjoy the game, i like making Sora stronger but i can see the appeal in it for players that like a challenge but i have other games i wanna play, and yes what is a Cloud

My ten year old self couldn't beat it. I'm over twenty-five and I beat it during a night shift at work, I practically shouted over this over fifteen year old grudge. It was toward the end of the fight and I knew I needed one more good combo to finish him off. When he did that reaction command block I went, "YES! YOU'RE MINE!" Because that was a huge opening.
@@jonathansotelo4877 in the final xemnas fight where you had to mash X and triangle. I would get tired from the mashing so my brother and me had to take a button each to mash
me too! i owed it to my 12 yo to replay the game and try to beat this guy. but as this video suggests, it took me 5 tries. once you know his combos its really managable haha
yeah fighting him when you first meet him is really hard, but tbh i think everyone can agree that once you get all your drive forms maxed out this guy is a joke. now the optional Terra fight lol.....thats another story lol
Nah, he is still easy even in the first time you fight him if you are at decent level. He is the only superboss I defeated on my first try alongside data marluxia (both on critical mode). He is very hard on lv1 crit but that is another story.
@@clownworld1017doesn’t matter. Even in critical mode sephiroth is still a joke. One difference is sora does more in critical mode than any of the other difficulty mode. So it made sephiroth even more redundant as a challenge.

Man, this fight is so much easier when you’re not on Critical Mode. I remember fighting Sephiroth on Critical Mode without Second Chance and it was just pain since 90% of his attacks one-shotted me.
Yeah, but then you realized this isn't KH2FM, but the vanilla version of KH2, which has no other option to get rid of those orbs. Since Risk break isn't in this game version.
I recently beat the game on critical mode, although I haven't done all super bosses I have done sephiroth. And after looking a a guide for like 5 minutes I understood what to do immediately and it was a pushover of a fight. I struggled on roxas for 2 hours and beat sephiroth in like 20 minutes. Critical mode really does make you get good at kingdom hearts instead of mash buttons.
When I was a teen I remember I had a friend over and we just spent the whole afternoon trying to beat Sephiroth and just getting our asses kicked repeatedly, those were some good ass times
KH2 Sephiroth was always like this. He's significantly more demanding than pretty much every other fight in the game since he has high damage output with big attack radiuses, you can't hit him with most magic spells, and he has that HP to 1/MP to 0 Heartless Angel move, but he's a pretty straightforward and easy to learn fight which balances him out pretty well. I just wish he was a repeatable encounter.
He is harder than the average kh2 boss for sure but still easier than the data fights and lingering will by a huge margin. He is the only superboss in the series that I managed to beat on my first try alongside data marluxia (both on critical).
As a child he took me months upon months to beat and i remember screaming upon winning... Nowadays i just casually deatroy him on max difficulty on relatively low level... His patterns have been ingrained in my mind at this point
@@mbrillon765In KH 1 Sephiroth is voiced by Lance Bass (yes THAT Lance Bass) and he says Descend Heartless Angel but he says it so fast and with the music being louder than most KH music it sounded to many players like he was saying Sin Harvest which is honestly a more badass name IMO. But yeah that’s the story there.
at 14 I thought this fight was tough. At 32 I'm regularly making a joke out of him in every single arena in the game with the boss-enemy randomizer mod.
i never played ps2 ver, but on ps4 version(first playthrough, critical) I think he was literally the only late game boss i managed to beat on my first try
This was nostalgic because I had almost everything this guy had beating him the second time, but the first time I've beaten him was when I had less abilities so the victory was more cathartic.
After having not been able to craft ultima weapon or beat sephiroth as a kid, I did both on critical mode recently on the steam release of 2.5FM. It was a very special feeling. Still trying to figure out a strategy for KH1 though...
Not counting the sora only cups (which you have to select to do after going through the cup twice), soras only solo'd two ff characters. Squall (Leon) and sephy here.
The first time I ever came so close to winning this fight, I was in my teens. The _one_ thing that kept me from winning was the KH2 required you to hit with a Combo finisher, and I had "Berserk Charge" active and was killed mid-charge.
this used to be hard, S was challenging fr fr. I beat him when i was 17. Now im 28! damn time flies via KH4, KH5, and KH6 I am excited for. if the studio decide to create 5 and 6 though but 4 for sure I am in anticipation for.
Everyone probably already knows this but if you think your over leveled for a fight or just in general and want stuff to last a little longer turn off Combo Boost and Air Combo Boost, alternatively if your trying to grind turn that shit back on
Yeah they made This fight easier since the final Mix version of Kingdom hearts came out 🤷🏾♂️ Before it was much harder & you never had a drive form to turn into back in the day either so you were handicapped on this matter but it made it challenging 🔥.
You can beat him on level 70 on Critical dificulty, I don't really count level 1 runs cause it unlocks certain things that make Sora op. But yeah, try doing this on critical, with almost nothing, fight will be extremely hard.
@@csto6804 yeah but that's false info he tried to imply. The critical mode in KH 2 only has scale damage, anything more such as defense or magic defense will still be at a point where boss attack will one shot you unless you wear armors.
Lv1 critical sephiroth is very hard, you have to be almost perfect since you don't have last chance. Lv99 critical sephiroth was so easy to the point that he was the only superboss I defeated first try.
This is what years of practice do to you :P Same deal happened with me and the secret man boss fight in KH1FM, I beat him in one try lol…. Then again, I beat Sephhy before him lol (though that took 5 tries)
I’m completing my first Kh2 fm Critical run and I run into this fight without any elixir nor the Ultima and I almost defeated him first try, imo he is easier than the KH1 fight
He is one the easiest superbosses, he always has been (except for lv1 crit but that is another story) A lot of people considered him hard because they fought him when they were kids or just years ago when players weren't used to this kind of gameplay.
PS2 Sephiroth: The Hardest Optional boss causally, even on harder difficulties, Reflectaga can't save you even with Decisive Pumpkin PS3/PS4 Sephiroth: Show me your strength. *Limit form, Reflectaga being massively OP, Dodge roll and Decisive Pumpkin walk approaching Menacingly* In all seriousness though, during my PS2 runs of KH2 back as a teen, when I first fought good ol Sephy, I was confident after beating Xemnas, and seeing Sephiroth I thought, *Okay, optional boss easy* Literally days of grinding up to LV99, getting all the Orichalcum+ to make Ultima Weapon, and getting more mats to get more strength and defense, and I still lost. After I beat him, I felt drained and accomplished. Now as I replay KH2: FM for videos and gag runs and I see him, I remember how much respect I have for him, and now he can be considered a sort of Joke Boss. I don't mean that in a bad way, he's still fearsome for lots of new players, but the tech has evolved so greatly that he has nothing on LW or Yozora, but still have that burning image in your mind that you have fought him before all of this, and you had a bad time. And the victory was well deserved. Tl:Dr, Sephy was a force back then, and he's a pushover now. But he's still fun to fight even with restrictions.
I think that everytime I fight against him. ofc when I havent played in a long time i might need a few trys. But it mostly doesnt take longer than a couple of minutes
At that level of difficulty it's going to be practically impossible to call this fight "hard", try it at lvl 1 cm and you will never say the same about it, and pretty much of the entire game, it almost makes dark souls feel ashamed, either way GG's
This doesn't look like level 1 critical to me- That being said I still died on this fight endlessly when I was a kid in vanilla KH 2 on normal, no such thing as critical mode or level 1 back then.
@@joelquintanilla917 Oh, I get it now! Sorry 😅 It's because the game selects which finisher you'll use first based on some conditions. One of those conditions is how many "enemies" are around Sora. If there's only a single enemy, Sora will always use Guard Break first when on the ground. If there are many enemies, Sora will use Explosion instead. At that time, Explosion went out first because the dark balls are considered enemies, and they were too close to Sora. Guard Break went out after because the game doesn't let you use the same finisher two times in a row. Hope I helped :^]
Depends on your difficulty dude. You're using trash like Dodge slash, and doing just fine. Missing timed blocks dodges, etc. try this shit at low level on critical. Not saying you haven't grown, but post a proper success, not a mediocre one
My lowest level victory facing him was lv 36 on proud mode. (I don't count critical lv 1 since it's somehow feels easier since there's a damage scaling if you're level 1 and of course i've done it as well.)
