I think Boruit is the manufacturer. There are a few V20s, CIWIC, Hosonic, and Boruit. The only difference I could find is Boruit says 110db for the alarm and CIWIC says 80db. Its cheaper to buy on AE. Prices on there can vary. I saw CIWIC for about $15 US each. Cheapest was about $23 US for 2 CIWIC. I saw a vid where a guy dropped it about 10 times, turned it on and threw it in a bucket of water...still worked. Did you mention it glows in the dark and has a magnet on the bottom?
I love everything about these lights, to the point I started giving them out as gifts and then maybe a couple weeks later bump into them, and hear their great story of crisis, now that they had it handy plus I always tether it with wrist length landyard, knowing itll be lost in short time if not attached. Now for the unknown factor - has anyone every had one finally die, not able to charge it? And if they were able to replace the battery w/o destroying the case. Could be Tricky I bet. Vs a 1954 Raovac dual D cell. Cheers
@DarrenYeoYT The best story was gal that runs the shop in the village, and I was always a bit concerned about the late hours shes there. The same day I gave her one, the power went out 3 times that night, trapping her in total darkness in the basement while getting supplies. This would scare even me.
@@DarrenYeoYT LOL given since the release of the boruit v20 around 2-3 weeks later at least 4 rebranded version appeared I suspect they are Boruits under licence etc... but thats ok as long as they are actual Boruit v20 and not even cheaper copies ;-)
The biggest flaw of the V20 is that only the lowest level is regulated. I can understand that a flashlight like this has little dissipation, especially at high levels. But the 130 lumens level which after 1 minute of stepdown reaches 20 lumens makes the flashlight useless in my opinion. That was the only level that was truly usable for walking or short excursions, unfortunately the torch is very limited to temporary use. The V15 on the other hand is really more usable, it has the first 3 levels adjusted.
Thanks@@DarrenYeoYT , that makes this superior for my needs than the v15 that I already own. I like the emitters on the v15 better, but it disables the light when charging which makes it pretty useless for a camping trip were I want to be able to charge it while lighting a tent or something. I also wish they would do away with the lanyard hole and replace with a larger battery, move the charge port to the front or sides, the port on the back makes it hard to plug in and use while clipped to a pack or something else. Def like the 180 degree freedom of head movement, much better than the split 890 of the v15.
