A dislocated finger- I had exactly the same experience! I felt calm as I pulled at the finger as I just didn't want to have to go to the hospital with it. I even let my friend have a go, but she didn't have the strength to do it. I'm still amazed that I managed to get it relocated... It's permanently got a bend in it now, though.. :D

Congratulations to the both of you!! Completing this floor has been a massive project (really multiple projects) and it has been a joy to follow along for the whole thing. What an incredible accomplishment! I look forward to following along for many more, thank you for sharing with us!

I'm continually impressed with your work ethic and dedication to getting this right. Just a side comment on Portugese medicine: I went to the clinic in Evora with food poisoning and a bad reaction to an antibiotic a couple of years ago while on a Bike tour. They had me all straightened out and on my way to recovery very efficiently despite the fact that I don't speak Portugese. I was very impressed.

Martijn is from the Netherlands and is renovating stone cabins on a mountain top in Italy. Like you he lives in a tent, has an outdoor kitchen, solar panels and works like a dog renovating. It's been interesting to watch both projects on RU-vid. I'd like to see more of how you fair living in a tent. Is it scary during the night or during storms? Do the cats sleep with you? Do you have critters or creepy crawlies invading your space?

Related to the extensive work for the cellar floor was the perimeter drainage that you did - by hand - around the outside of the building. When it's all complete you will have a dry, snug place, warm in winter and cool in summer, for comfortable living. Your hard labor will have paid off!

You don't just work hard, you work smart and you do your research, think things through, plan them out, so that when you execute them, most of the time what you do turns out to be a very effective use of your energy and time, with great results. This inspires me. What an incredible amount of work!! I know there are reasons you had to do the floor this way... something about moisture control. I vaguely remember an explanation in a previous video, but it would have been nice to get a refresher. Looks like it turned out great! I can't wait to see how this is all going to turn out. I liked the very last image of the video labeling the separate layers of the floor. To see this video documenting the collective labor on the floors in time lapse was dramatic and epic. I’ve wondered watching previous videos if you two had to deal with work-related injuries and was relieved to see that Guy only sustained a dislocated ( not broken) finger!

Just a thought (and one you've may have already had) but giving your chickens access to the dirt you dug out of the house will turn it into soil (GOLD) with the chickens natural scratching, the addition of garden cast offs and the girls "natural" additions in a fairly short amount of time. I use my girls yard to collect all the trimmings from the property and they give me wonderful compost for my garden by the barrow full.

Great video and a huge accomplishment, well done! If a person just keeps after it one part at a time it eventually gets done without being too overwhelming. Side note; I had to go the the hospital in the Azores for an angle grinder finger accident. Most of the medical staff spoke some English and the wounds speak for themselves so it was pretty easy and only 6€.
