You have already discovered Border Model's big problem ... Really badly designed instructions. Plus they lack color painting guides for mist interiors... and just wait until you get to the colour options and discover the dichotomy between the decals and the options! ALWAYS triple check references and follow a good paint guide like Eduard's 1/48 109 kit or Revell's 1/32 kit instructions which cover that very well indeed.

Was watching you put the 3d cockpit on, thinking to myself I bet VMS slow acting CA would be perfect here, wonder if the black comes in slow acting too. Saw you use the PVA glue there, and few seconds later the .. taadaa! Slow acting black VMS CA glue. Answered that question, created another. Not confident that you could set the 3d cockpit on before the CA would begin to set? Or just more comfortable all around with the PVA? Either way, well done and wtf first step focke up??!!??

I’m building this now and I’m about to glue the two halves together. Like you, hoping the end result is worth it. Really weird kit with wonky instructions and no color callouts. All that said, I bought the border Stuka, and I’ll probably buy any 1/35 scale WW2 aircraft any company puts out. :)
