About the game:
Instruments of Destruction features an advanced physics-based destruction system. You can demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. In addition, every object you see in the game world--save for small decorative plants and rocks--is part of the physics system. Each element of the world interacts with each other and together they create a physical, visceral world to play with.
Build Your Vehicle
Build a vehicle your way, with an ever-expanding array of parts and pieces. Using an intuitive vehicle construction system that also lets you customize your vehicles' appearance and controls, you'll always have fun creating your next awesome invention.
From simple splitters to advanced joints, a variety of parts slowly unlock as you play through the game, and each unlocks countless new possibilities.
While some vehicles will perform better than others in accomplishing your objectives, it's always a bit more fun to get creative and go a little off script. Optional bonus challenges and objectives will reward more creative builders and add more replayability.

please do not have this like a main assembly situation where you hit 1.0, release a patch for some bugs and then stop. games like these are always better as a game thats continually updated as time goes on.

@@landsquid9509 I would agree with you if it was multiplayer, especially if you could fight against your friends, but there's not much you can do with your creations... Updates can keep this game alive but once you are done building your creation with your new parts, what are you doing with it? Destroying the same building over and over?

Instruments of destruction managed to be thought of, the demo made, the early access made, and now it's about to leave early access before Scrap Mechanic got it's biggest update yet. The last two days have yielded a 216 mb update, and a 1.7 something GB update, so it's promising, despite radio silence from Axolot games. my hopes are so up I've started playing it again.

I don't usually like it when these games are on early access for that long because when v1.0 gets released the majority of players already completed the campaign and they uninstalled the game a long time ago... But it's not too bad here because they revamped the campaign, in fact I see a lot of new stuff like vehicles, maps, weather, etc... So I'm pretty sure a lot of people will enjoy to play it again, including myself!

It's because SM is an excellent example how not to do an early access game. Promise release on particular date, go silent for a year or more, say you're sorry, promise next release date, repeat - that's how SM development works unfortunately.

Hear me out, DIY spleef cars. You have a bunch of materials and build zones spread out on each edge of the map, and then when the round starts, everybody runs from the centre to their build zone and start making their spleef cars. Or maybe you could try an evolution style game. Plus a big map for more content. Seems like a cool way to keep milking the scrap mechanic spleef vids.

about the haymaker. ppl used to lay hay on the ground and hit it with a stick that has a little chain connection in the middle like a nonchuck but way bigger. I don't know history well enough to tell what hitting the hay actually does. but this is a real haymaker 😂😂😂

Hitting the hay knocks the grain off the straw, and is called threshing. It's pretty important if you don't eat straw.

This game is a gem on the channel. I love these unexpected hits, like Hot Wheels, Cosmoteer, Volcanoids, Card Life etc. I love seeing him progress through all the different genres. It's been great all these years!

Honestly: the progress of this game is so much more satisfying than any thing the aaa-industry has to offer. Im not even an active Player but still this seems more creative than an titles of Blizzard, ea, and Bethesda combined.

28:26 Wyrm is based on a boss from Terraria, The Destroyer: a big mechanical worm that spawns in drones that shoot lasers at you. I believe ScrapMan featured a similar creation a few months ago from the workshop, but that one was much bigger.

@@SolarCinematicBasically a sea serpent without the "sea". Then there's Tatzelwyrms(snakes with arms/front legs) and Lindwyrms(snakes with back legs, like T-Rex without arms). Add both back and front legs to a wyrm and you get a drake. Add wings to the back of a drake and you get a dragon, or add wings to the front arms of a drake to get a wyvern.

I made the 130+ vehicles in the game, but many were inspired by community creations. It is a lot of content, but a number of the vehicles were based on others. For example, the one vehicle he didn't show, Optimech Alpha, has two other variants, Optimech Core and Optimech Prime. Not every vehicle has variants, and some are pretty tame/simple, but that helped reduce the amount of work a bit.
