This game is a whole mood! Hope it puts you in a good head space today. The Last of Us Part II & Final Fantasy VII Remake are being streamed on my Twitch channel first (www.twitch.tv/TheStrangeRebel) , then uploaded in full here on RU-vid. Thanks for your patience! Enjoy
Awesome! I remember when you played Gris and canceled other plans to complete it all in one go! Which was an excellent choice because it was such an emotional journey of colors. And I'm so happy to be able to watch again and escape into this world for a little while. Thank you!
I just finished this game also, and wanted to see people's reactions when playing the game. This is one of those games that people should just 'experience'.
Just so you know the reason you kept falling on the red level, is because you weren't staying inside that shelter during the storm. They were showing you propellers moving to indicate the storm is coming but the one inside stays still to show you it's safe inside.
This is quite odd. I've never seen any gameplay or even heard of this game before, but from the moment she feel from the hand I had a strange connection to it. I've felt that exact way in my life, and seeing a game portray it was, in a sense, quite comforting. Thanks for this awesome vid, and keep making them!
So I have never heard of this game before and I started watching your video. Literally 2 mins into it I stopped the video, looked up the game and bought it. I'm playing it now on my big screen and sound. This is an experience. Thanks Bri!
From this game and your reaction, it makes me imagine what it would be like for a Bob Ross Walkthrough/Playthrough. Very relaxed, tranquil, and peaceful. "There's no falling, only happy gliding" :)
You will always be my fav content creator. Like you show real emotion in all your games. That speaks to me on so many levels. I also feel emotional in art, and as a 3D artist, I try and portray the same feeling in all my work. To see it made so simply, speaks so many volumes to me, and to see you get so emotional reminds me why I do art. To touch one person with the idea that people notice me or my work and can find ways to look at it on so many levels. There is no one way to handle grief or love or anything, and that is what this game shows. Anyways, love your content as always, Bri.
An incredible and beautiful game with fun game play and amazing music. I'm very glad you played this, easily one of my favourites. And i cried so much at the end my god. Big fan all the way from Sweden!
As a Spaniard working in the industry, thank you so much for playing this, Briana! I'm so glad our video game industry is finally starting to touch hearts worldwide. 😊
I'm 15 minutes in and I'm sure of two things; 1. I'm immediately buying this game. 2. There's no one more perfect to voice Aerith on the planet, than you! Keep being you, Briana!
I've played this game two years ago. I was in a really dark place and to me was therapeutic. Seems like there's a link between the adding of colours to the game and the emotions that you are confronting after a trauma or depression. First, shock everything is black and white. Then comes the red and the anger and hate, ups and downs and when you get the green you began to be calm and peaceful and start to accept ....and like this kind of process is complete when you obtained all the colours.
A couple of things: Gris and grief...was that intended to rhyme? Also after you got to the part where it turns red and you keep getting hit by the winds, I saw how the game references grief. The beginning of it, where everything is foggy...kind of like when you're just in shock over what happened, over the loss. Then that part, where the wind hits hard for brief periods, with also brief periods of calm between them. Yeah, that's pretty accurate...
I would never watch anyone else play a game like this except for Bri. I just love her facial expressions and commentary it makes it enjoyable to watch.
This game is art on a level you don't see often. I've seen people weep at it's end, and i understand why. Take it all in and enjoy it, art style, music and feeling. You will never be the same.
I do not get it why she keep comparing this game to "Life is Strange" I mean those games are nowhere near similar. PS Elementary colors are blue, red and yellow all other colors can be made with them. (white is not considered a color) for example to get green you mix blue and yellow.
I finished this game for like 5mins ago, and went to RU-vid to watch this video, i wanted to see her reaction even though i know whats comming next in the game. Love to see her reaction. :)
God I love how you feel things so raw and intensely. If you like games with symbolism, there’s another game called rime with similar themes and a magical/whimsical aura
You are playing GRIS 😍 i never knew that it was a Spanish Title but that it's called translated Grey makes so much Sense about the Game in general i'm so excited to see you play it 😊 i've seen it a Year ago on a German Let's Play Channel (during December and it was so perfect for this Time) and i just love this Game in general how artistic it is visually and with the Music (soooo gooood) and the way of Storytelling 😊
I love that slight smile when you noticed the sound being affected by being in the water or outside it. really shows how much you are paying attention the the beautiful art
NO WAY 10 minutes ago I talked to my friend that I played this beautiful game a long time ago and that so few people know it. Now I am here. Hope you guys enjoy this game :) Love from Gemany!! EDIT: This day was very shitty day but this made up for all of it
Not my kind of game but it's kinda calming watching you after i've had an anxiety attack earlier this evening. You've a very cute expression in the preview pic too. Hope you are doing ok.
Today I did two things: start playing the final fantasy 7 remake for the first time, and watch a video (this one) from you the first time. And it was a great video - your commentary is fantastic and it's awesome to see someone enjoying this amazing game. Imagine my surprise when i find out you also voice aerith... Incredible! You have earned a subscriber :)
33:47: It really feels so. Like paintings of art in museums which does not show any specific pictures, just randomly illustrated lines and mixes of drawings. Artists of such visuals wants the viewer to make their own definitions of what they see in such mazes and works of un-specific images. While being among those who finds modern art of that kind cheap and effort-less, compared to nice and skillfull paintings, that kind still has a purpose.....to train our imagination and viewpoints.
Woow I loved it, thanks for creating this video. It somehow reminded me of Journey at the start, if you haven´t played it I recommed it ! it would be amazing to see your reactions.
this game looks fun . and i also got the platinum trophy for final fantasy 7 remake gotta say it never felt so good before to complete any game and i also have the gotterdammerung the best accessory in the game and i equipped it to airith cuz she's the soul of the game and cloud's the heart . absolute joy to play that game music is sending shivers down my spine 😍
Just finished it yesterday. It is a short game but I really enjoyed the puzzles. I won’t spoil the ending however I believe the ending had a spiritual symbolism. Thanks again for your video.
thank you strange rebel gaming for the video it really help me to forget what i was angry about u help me thank you cya on the next video we all love you stay safe and have a beautiful day
It reminds me quite a lot of Journey, which is the metagame I'd always recommend anyone to play. Plus, Briana, I usually don't watch people playing vg's on RU-vid, but your walkthroughs are blissful somehow. Thank you! 🙂
I played this game when it first released in 2018, but I really appreciated the new perspective you brought to it. You analysed everything thoroughly, and it has given me a better understanding of this beautiful game.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid or annoying question, but are you going to play The Last of Us Part II? I haven't caught any of your recent Twitch Streams for a while so I don't know if you already said anything about it there.
I'm commenting this right after you first mentioned it so things may change, but the first stage of grief is denial which fits the grey really well I think with just an absence of and refusal to see things in colour The second stage is anger and what is this second red area if not anger with the sudden bursts of rage that make you unable to do anything Edit: Ok so rainy blue is obviously depression, but I can't work out how green was bargaining... Were we bargaining with the screamy shadow bird somehow? What did the bells mean? Was there some kind of "for whom the bell tolls" mixed symbolism in there? Did the bird being made up of lots of smaller birds/butterflies/bats mean something?
There's the little creature you feed apples to. You build up your relationship with it slowly. At first it runs away. When you feed it a bit, it starts to warm up to you. After you feed it more, it contributes to your puzzles, and then after that it gives you something you need to progress. If you actually play the game and aim for all the achievements, there are achievements named after each of the five stages which are pretty indicative of what the developer thinks are the 5 stages. And if you consider the interpretation from another comment, the birds/butterflies could be a metaphor for discomfort and nervousness. So it gains strength the closer you get to confronting your loss/trauma, and the question is whether or not you can figure out how to get through it.
Speical intro. :) Kind of feels philosophic; we know about the saying "bite the hand that feeds you", and here we could say "fall off the hand that holds you", just like you mentioned. ^^
I knew the moment i started playing it, it's about mental health problems, like depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. Really lovely game though. "there's nothing i can do during those storms, nothing" Yah, that's literally it 😬 I get the feeling the landscape and ruins, is the inner sanctuary, or what broken pieces of it that still remains. All you can do during those storms, is hide away in your broken little world, and weather it out; move forward a little bit, just to get pushed back again. The birds you mention are more like butterflies=anxiety.
It's amazing how they nailed every little detail, and everything has meaning. It says so much, but without using any words, just art. It's also interesting how different people will interpret it differently. But as someone who has depression, anxiety, panic attacks and all that, it feels like I can relate to every detail on a personal level. For me, that big bird, is like an anxiety attack, and all you can do is just ride along with it, and "turn into a block of stone" to be firm, and remind yourself it will pass. Even as you rise above it, it's still there by your side, threatening, but when you get out of it, it dissipates. Not sure about the Bell though :p Afterwards you kind of fall down into the "blues" and wonder, will it ever stop? We associate the colors with emotions, so i guess it's about bring them together, and life isn't just one color/feeling, but all of them. It's really funny how you make all these off-hand remarks, but it's so spot on ☺️ "now i have to go all the way back, and do it all over again" Mm ya :p oh here we go again, hey anxiety attack 😑 long time no see 😒
And I think the commentary is even etched into the player input. The reason why she kept failing at the start and kept falling was because she wanted to rush it. She wanted to push past the wind before she knew how to. She wanted to force her way through the blinding anger and rage that sometimes consumes us while we're going through grief. And the clockwork theme kind of hints at that too. The ticking in the background, giving a sense of rhythm, time. Sometimes you need to know when you can't keep pushing, and just wait it out, until you learn how to deal with it.

lets be honest.. the character is as small as a laser pointer on screen. You need a good big TV to enjoy it really good. Hate it when games are wayy too zoomed out
Video title is on point, so relaxing and the animation is lovely! From vibrant colors to black, white, grey haha. Btw, you look somewhat different haha, more mature.
Just love listening to this girl's voice. I don't know if it was because she played Aerith, or what. Just enjoy playing her videos in the background while playing FFXIV.
