i dont see how this game competes with smite 2 at all, not saying this game is bad but its seems wildly different.

I thinknthere are similarities It's a moba, it has items, it has lanes and a jungle. Like LoL, HoN, DoTA. It has the feel of smite in over the shoulder but that is where it stops. I think there will be overlap, but I don't think it will make people stop playing Smite(2), this game feels more like OW, with MoBa aspects. I would say this competes more with Paragon or whatever it got renamed to than Smite. With that said this game looks fun as hell and I can't wait to play it. I just don't see this gane taking Smite players away to the degree smite isn't played. I think the overlap will play both games rather than just one of the games. Now if you want to talk about new game overload, there will be that, but once time passes, everyone will settle into both games equally. Like I said, this game does feel like smite out side of the perspective. So I don't see it hurting smite anymore than Marvel Rivals, or any newer game coming out at the same time that shares player base. But I am also the one to say that Marvel Rivals shares a player base with Smite, LoL,DoTA, CoD, this game ecct. It is the competitive player base. And if you need an example of the overlap Weak3n is the perfect example. But I promise you Weak3n isn't going to give up Smite 2 for this game or Rivals. I think because of the feel of the game it isn't a direct competitor to Smite 2. BUT that isn't how Smite 2 head is going to see it and that is a good thing. If he feels this game is a threat innovation and consumer friendly practices will follow, when he decides this game doesn't pose a threat the opposite happens. Look to Playstation pre Xbox and post

Smite is too small of a game to have anything be called a smite killer, especially a game released by valve, hirez is an indie dev compared to valve

Not necessarily a smite killer if I'm honest. I think this fulfils a niche that is more akin to overwatch (since that shooter feel is not really something smite goes for), that overwatch 2 ironically failed to do. To me this feels more like an Overwatch killer, it might affect smite a bit but Overwatch has been out for years so think on that what you will.

As someone who has been playing smite for 10+ years i am addicted to this game and i have barely touched smite 2

Honestly i think this looks really interesting! I don't really keep track of other mobas than smite so it's cool to see what these other games are like

people should stop comparing deadlock to any game except dota in third person shooter setting. Because almost every thing is inspired from it except special mechanics like stamina, parrying a melee attack, dash/double jumps. Complex in terms of knowledge-check, also a room for micro and macro decisions.

I feel that Smite is slower and more methodical/tactical. This one seems just more FPSy where reaction time is much more important than other things. Not to mention you need to think in 3D

ill be playing both games. loving deadlock. very origonal feel and game design. really enjoying it. so many multiplayer games feel similar. really like deadlock alot. is why i have always liked smite also. they are fun first and then competitive IMO. games are just something for spare time so needs to be fun or i would rather do something else

I mean smite 2 already killed itself by splitting the playerbase, I doubt smite 2 gonna even reach the peak playerbase of smite. Deadlock just needs to step up their designs cause the game and characters look like they're competing with concord

This game has been fun the last couple weeks of playing it, it really just needs more objective playing and not every1 should be able to just split push. Also that wraith build must not be good cuz mine insta kills pretty much every1😂

Honestly this game and SMITE seem to be vastly different type of games I don't see them bleeding into each other much. Also not much of a fan of the art style and character deigns. Valve is better than that.

this looks like team fortress 2 with fortnite animations. like literally. your character looks like a tf2 skin and your shooting running moving the healing sprite. everything looks like it was ripped right out of fortnite. was the guys who made fortnite create this cause i actually don't know.

This game ain’t for you. You play slow sens in apex and think a 180 turn in smite is quick. Weird video tbh.

the end game needs balance there needs to be a chance to defend. Defense minions should heal more and be more powerful and their minions should be disabled or weakend and healing removed IMHO.

I despise third person shooters with a passion so definitely not replacing smite for me. If you're gonna put a gun in my hands then let me look down the damn sights in first person.

The Overwatch part of this game the the MOBA part of this game seem entirely disjointed. It doesn't look like "Overwatch as a MOBA" it looks like "Overwatch just so happens to be on a MOBA map" if that makes sense. It doesn't seem like the seamless merging of two ideas, it seem like two separate ideas were slapped together and they're praying it works. This game could be good, but it needs a more coherent identity. Right now it just looks boring and doesn't seem like it offers anything new. A lot of the fighting looks like chaos for the sake of chaos. Fights and poke are constantly going on, but nothing is actually happening
