Knew it was a HEMTT from the thumbnail. Those are absolute monsters! The wreckers and the PLS are awesome. Some have the big De-troit Diesels that have a turbo feeding into the blower. They turn like a 50 foot long 2x4 but that's no problem, they can just run over whatever is in the way lol. On a sad note, knew a guy that was in a convoy going to Ft. Drum in one. Some teens were driving recklessly and cutting hin off. He ended up running the car over and killing all of them because they drove in front of him too close. He would never drive the big stuff again and really messed him up. GOVE LARGE VEHICLES ROOM AND STAY AWAY FROM THEM! DO NOT FLOOW THEM, RIDE ALONG SIDE THEM OR CUT THEN OFF! Vehicles like this are designed to run over whatever is in their way and will drive over your car or truck like its a speed bump and it will kill you. Same with large commercial vehicles. They aren't designed to run over anything but because of their large size, they have no problem running over and flattening a car or truck. They can't stop as fast as your little car either. It's sad this needs to be said over and over and over. Anyone who cuts off or messes with a big truck on the road deserves to be flattened.

“Deserves to be flattened” is a little extreme don’t ya think? I agree, the big vehicles on the road need to be respected for what they are and the clueless people need to be educated about them. The jackasses that drive erratically need a couple nights in jail to think about what they are doing.

Good for you, in 3/9 during the early 90's we were calling them that. As far as this being a different configuration IDGAF. That's like arguing about a hi-top HUMVEE and a shell-back HUMVEE or a HUMVEE with an ambulance shell on the back. They are all HUMVEE, just built in different configurations.

Interesting that you mentioned Cero Gordo. They're having problems getting materials to work on the next stage of the build, maybe you could test the HEMTT by filling it with timber for Cero Gordo. By the way have you heard about the issue with K2 wanting to create a huge open cast mine next to Cero Gordo?
@HAunderscoreVE
@HAunderscoreVE 2 года назад
the whole K2 thing is really upsetting. A soulless corportaion wants to open-pit mine next to a historic site. Part of me gets it, materials are needed for society to continue, but like.. damn, they will straight up destroy the entire area, and make cero gordo basically unhabitable thanks to the huge amounts of noise from the mining.

A4? With the CAT? No sir, you needed to run the E1 converted to A1 series. Nothing easier to work on if needed and would out pull any other variant. Ran a A1 for 12 years in the service, 3 years of those were in Iraq. Would pull a HET with trailer and load down the road at highway speeds. Nothing beats that 8V92TA man, all they have to do is remove the throttle delay and adjust the jakes a little tighter and it'll perform smoother but because the injector racks are air over mechanically controlled they have to make sure they don't flatline the racks and cause the engine to run away.

@@williamsrebecca3558 being in the military is what you make it. If you tell yourself you are miserable you will be. The military is like being in any sport, just the stakes are higher. There are rules. You play by the rules you get to play. If you don't you won't. If you go in with an open mind and forget the "I'm going to do it my way!" attitude you will be fine. Go in while you are young. I went in at 25 and suffered late on as my body aged. After 13 years arthritis along with a bad knee got me separated. Also as you get older your weight is harder to control. I had a blast and miss it every day. Terry from South Carolina

I had the wonderful opportunity to drive a HEMMT Wrecker in Afghanistan in 2009. It had an armored cab, air ride seats, Allison push button transmission, and a caddy style suicide knob on the wheel. That thing was unstoppable it was a BEAST!!!!

See there are 7 different models of the HEMITT with several other configurations. LHS, PLS, wrecker, fueler, fire truck, Patriot missile transport, bob tail, Cargo. So every model has its own purpose. This particular model was designed to haul MLRS rocket pods.

Hey Heavy! 👋 something I thought of is you could possibly stick. Camper ac unit on the roof easy enough if you didn't want to just keep it stock. That thing should be able to generate enough wattage to run it easy.
