Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RU-vid channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I’m a 7 handicap golfer, but could never improve my chipping, this is an absolute eye opener. Can’t believe how simple the corrections are; soft grip pressure, narrow stance, slow motion longer backswing and checkpoint on the follow through. UNBELIEVABLE!! Thank you so very much!

Probably helped you to focus on process too and not outcome. Focus on outcome creates fear and either yips or a tentative stroke. Confidence is everything, however that is achieved; new wedge, new putter, new method ... whatever. Keeping it going is the challenge! 🤣

This is one of the best and most important lessons I’ve seen anywhere. Total game changer for me. I got so much out of this video I bought Dan’s book. Last weekend I had my lowest competitive round ever, winning first flight with a 75 net 70, and got up and down 6 times with 29 putts. The most up and downs and fewest putts I’ve ever had on my home course. Let’s just call Dan the “Wedge Whisperer.”

I’m the same way - the weirdest part is when my short game is good, I score the best. But there’s days when my driver and irons are on and my score will get ruined with bad play around the greens. I shot a PR the other day, and I hit 4 fairways, 7 GIR, but I was getting up and down and no 3 putts. And it felt like a bad round before I added up my score

Just from personal experience, but when I have a few sessions focusing on going slower and lighter that when I start working on my full swing again, I can really crank up the speed and I have way more awareness with my hands and body, and it feels so effortless and relaxed.

I have Bobby jones on dvd from 1931 instructional video for all clubs, his most lofted club was a niblick basically a 9 iron, he could spin it on a dime or make it run out, in a bunker he could hit low and run or high and stop in the place it hit. They walked on the ball buried and he hit 9 to couple feet. Those days they chipped with several clubs. Some of this looks very similar to how bobby pitched in certain situations. In a match play the stymie rule was in and he chipped over another ball into the cup. Those days you couldn't lift clean and place a ball anywhere even on the green.

When I was a kid I was great at chipping and now have absolutely NO IDEA what I'm doing and have lost total confidence. In fact, my mind goes blank!! A mixture of fear and total embarrassment. Bunkers? Happy as a clam. Anywhere near the green? Double bogie! This is stunning game changer for me. Dan Grieves is an amazing teacher and seeing Rick go through all the same thoughts I do as a single figure golfer. It really does work so this is saved at the top of my watch later list. Thank you guys.

For me, Andy Carter and Matt Fryer's videos on chipping have helped me tremendously. Those guys are really really good with the short game.

The long awaited and coveted long form video of Dan Grieve on RU-vid... Bravo team for pulling this off. Having bought his book, this is the visual representation needed to back up the concepts and take them out to the practice ground. Awesome video 🥳

Love Dan, been a follower for years , his explanation of short game is second to none, he's changed my game , like Rick my short game was the weakest part of my game costing me shots every round

What an outstanding video! Rick, one of your best skills is your authenticity. You allow us to see where you need to improve and you let us watch you struggle through a swing change just as we do when we are learning from you. Thank you! Dan is an amazing instructor and Rick, you were an humble and appreciative student. !

I enjoyed the fact Rick is taking lessons to improve his own game and then will pass along the knowledge to other golfers. That's the spirit and what should golf be about. Thanks for your channel mate 🤌

This is great advice for high softer shots ONLY, do not let it creep into your long game or you will hit it everywhere, I play off a 6 and shot a 92 on a short golf course
