Yeah he really brought home the "tone is in the fingers" theory to me, pick a guitar that feels comfortable in your hands, inspires you to play, and get to playing it, a lot, feel what your playing, and let your fingers make the sound.
He is very much known in the guitar world. The problem he and other guitarists of this era in time are having is that they are not on enormous/hit songs. It is impossible in this current state of how music is consumed to be as vital as guitarists of the past have been. Truth be told, when radio became the dinosaur that it is, it killed mass exposure of artists. As much as it sucked that there were gatekeepers in the record/radio industry, it produced stars.
What a weapon!!! Looks and sounds superb! Let’s face it, any guitar would look cool in CB’s hands! What a Maestro! Would love to see CRDL BLK down under! 👏👏👏
I had the pleasure to visit Mickael's shop almost ten years ago. A true artist and passionate craftsman! Hope to get my hands on one of his guitars one day!
i remember you showing me the spring at the Luxembourg date, the firehawk ticks even more boxes, looks and sounds absolutely incredible, great to see all the success you're getting with the band as well, kudos 🙌
It is Friday and just found this one that I missed a couple weeks ago! Beautiful guitar that I am fortunately to have seen & heard up close at the show in Nashville. ❤
@@tiki_trash I have a 2011 in TS with Steinberger tuners, which are fantastic. It came stock with the Firebird pups, great sounding guitar IMO. Some people don't like them. I keep it cased and it still has that sweet lacquer smell!
Ya know that thing they say about the Welsh, they all have magnificent singing voices. Well, Chris’s voice is obvs though a guitar & oh man, does he make them sing!!! Amazing
“Black Bird,” “Here, There and Everywhere.” Now I have to go back and see if these just a couple of words that just happened to go together in an accidental Beatles reference, or actual Easter eggs haha. Love the guitar, love the knowledge you drop, and of course, YOUR PLAYING BLOWS MY MIND lolz.
I love the fact Chris loves Rival Sons and Scott Holiday. Holiday is absolutely one of the most innovative guitarists around. Rival Sons is general are one of the most innovative and original rock bands around today.
Hi Chris! Great vid and playing as always. Perhaps in a future vid you could discuss playing solos with a capo. My experience is that big bends tend to pull the strings out of tune. Any suggestions?
You are right up there with Gary Moore. Not even kidding. You don't do that 'bash' at the beginning of an intense phrase like he did, and the sliding to the exact note you want and then bending it is a lot harder than it sounds.
The Reverend Reeves Gabrel Dirtbike in the two pickup version is the best non Firebird /Firebird I’ve played . Must have a look at The Warhawk ! Shame that PRS has dibs on bird inlays 🤣
Great sounding bird /hawk /sparrow 🤣Love a Firebird but rolling about at the other end of the spectrum fancied the Epiphone inspired by Gibson one but the neck pickup is great but the bridge is too bright and ice -picky . Guy in a store said “ Great guitar desperate for a good set of pickups .” If the numbers come up the French Fancy will be on the hit list 🔥🦅
ESP Phoenix custom from the 80s with the "lawsuit" headstock. Very cool in a turquoise blue, but heavy. How about Vic Zino's Sgt Doom Superbird? Seems like millions of cool, obscure guitar companies out there. Killer guitars from Japan. Hufschmid from Switzerland. Vigier Marilyn guitar from France, etc.
Yes, the sunburst one was wired with 3 independant volumes. When the middle pickup is engaged via its own volume pot, the slide switch enables to put it in the circuit either in parallel to any other position (so you'd get the 2 and 4 of a strat for example), or in series (Fire position :-) ), which sounds massive, but works only with bright sounding pickups like firebirds. With 3 PAFs or even 3P90s, it'd be too muddy and barely useable.
Looks cool, but the upper and lower horn aesthetics aren't quite right, IMO. I imagine they're doing that to get around any trademark issues from Gibson.
U are a badass on the neck…. Don’t matter if you’re playing a log! Don’t talk shit! If it stAys in tune you’ve got it covered and coveted… let’s not pretend
This is an awesome guitar...but not something I would buy as I got the guitars I was after and the sounds I need for all my recording...and gigging purposes....
They’re so heavy tho, and they have these giant necks on them. U need to be a lumber jack to be able to play one of them 🤷♀️ it’s like strings on a baseball bat.
Chris! You talk too fast and are barely audible at times. Your sentences run together so often that it's difficult to understand the topic you just spoke about before you're onto another topic! Slow your roll, Big Guy!
