Emanuel b I can’t comment on squire, I’ve never owned one, but I have a gretsch streamliner, and it has the bigsby. Even though I never use trems, it looks awesome. I really recommend anything from that line. Mine had a lot of trouble staying in tune at first, but now that I’ve changed strings and played it, it’s perfect. The neck feels so good, and I’m in love with everything about it. But that’s just my opinion, hope this helps you out man
@hideawayblues6878
@hideawayblues6878 4 года назад
@@emanuelb1154 The quality of squier has come a long way. I just picked up a thinline tele and they now have solid shaft pots with set screw knobs. The switch feels nicer also and isn't the circuit board style that most overseas guitars come with. All I did was replace the pickguard with a tortoise shell for a unique look. I haven't played the gretsch so I can't compare but I think the tele would serve you well.

Documenting a creative process like this is so important. But it's rare. There are millions of guitarists who never get past just learning their favourite songs. Some think that you have to be a great technical player to come up with guitar parts. Amongst those that do try to create, there's too much tired old stuff that's been done a million times before. Give young players some simple approaches, and we might see something new. I hope you do more of these.

At this point in my life I can only justify owning one electric guitar. I chose a Gretch Electromatic hollow body because all the cool kids were doing it. I’ve had it for 4 years now. It’s been really frustrating being backed into that tight of a tonal corner. It’s been really amazing being backed into that tight of a tonal corner. I’m still discovering new things that I didn’t know my guitar can do. Great video. I loved the song!

Single pickup guitars are alot more interesting that people usually think, guitars such as the Malcom Young signature and Gibson JRs are a product of how many guitar players have believed that the reduced magnetic pull on the strings created by removing a pickup lets the strings resonate more giving a fuller and more sustained sound. It might only be a slight difference but it makes sense for the magnets of the pickups to effect the resonance of the strings.

You are blessed and gifted. I and my band are simple song writers with a very modest studio in the basement of an ancient textile mill. I live vicariously through you as I am very limited in the instruments I try to play, mostly guitar, lap steel, piano, synth, bass, Mando, etc...I cannot read music and feel crippled when I play. But you give me hope. And yes maybe an old dog can learn new tricks. I love playing music it is really healing. I recently got a hand pan drum in Dm and we jam for hours extemporaneously and to us it becomes a symphony, who knows maybe closer to a train wreck, but all in all there is no one thing on the planet better than the creative process. Where it comes from I do not know but it is very rewarding regardless of the fact that we rarely are allowed to play in a night club. Peace, Namaste and be well. Edward William Case

The perceived limitations of a single pickup guitar are what makes them so appealing. There are a lot of tones to be found depending on your approach to the instrument. One of my favorites is a Rick Kelly Bowery Pine Esquire with a simple volume and tone control set up; no switches, no push pull pots; just a really great guitar with a bunch of useable sounds. As always, Rhett does a great job here demonstrating this concept.

I just picked up a Gibson Les Paul Junior DC, with the single P90, 2 days ago with the main reason being to learn to expand my playing ability by limiting my options with a single guitar. So far, I think it’s really helped me out and has given me a better understanding on things like where you pick at in relation to the bridge and utilizing the tone and volume knobs more. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to expand their abilities.

Reminds me of a LP Jr. where you can get so much out of one pickup. You're correct. Thanks for the idea of limitations. I’ve been stuck in a musical rut for a long time now, and I’ve been struggling to find a tone that I actually feel inspired by. I miss simply feeling every single note and letting that drive me into a groove. I’ve realized that through out the years the more gear and the more possibilities I obtain the less I actually create. Back in the day I barely had anything but I used what I had to the max but now I get so caught up in the possibilities that I forget to just let go and let what I’m hearing carry me. I definitely need to try limiting myself and working with what I have , physically, but also to my skill level.

One of your best formats, but so far my favorite among all the favorites... so far. Thanks for letting us watch the creative angle of things moving from your head and heart to the web and our ears. Bravo sir! P.S. You need your dog (if you have one) on camera sometimes.

Hi Rhett Looked you up after watching Rick Beato "All Things Music" You guys are awesome thanks for doing what you do. Your channels are very educationsl as well as entertaining!!! I often thought that group dynamics is what makes many songs so great. Many artist fall short when they go solo. Any input by anyone else reading this? Would love to hear what other people think and why this is. Tia

You have found the edge of the U2 zone soaked in delay and reverb 🤣👍🎸

One pickup is all you need, any change of tone can come from your tone knob (if you have one) or amp.

Cool vid. There's a reason that Jimmy Page used a Tele on the early Led Zep albums. He loved the punch of the bridge pickup and knew how to manipulate it to get any sound he wanted out of it. Awesome!

That was awesome! Love that spacey, dreamy slide stuff you do. Tweak that drum track a little and you would have something really great.
