I think one of the growing problems with being expected to pay not to see ads is that tons of content creators load their content down with sponsorships and ad placements aswell. So you are paying to see less ads, not no ads. I had that issue with paying for spotify because i listened to just as many podcasts as i did music and yet most podcasts have a ridiculous number of preloaded ads shoved into them, ontop of having their own ad reads. It makes it feel like you are wasting your money.
