Hearing all the big 1000 or more donations during this run reminds me of that talk Oats had about "how many people in chat have a PhD" I guess all of Oat's viewers are stacked somehow, is crazy

i'm always in awe of oatsandgoats skill in this game... actually every super metroid runners skill in this game. like they make all of the complicated movements look SO EASY. it's NUTS. like how do they do perfect wall jumps then into ball curl to fit into the wall. like jesus man. it's like watching sc brood war players perfectly micro their army to make it look like starcraft broodwar had really good pathing. hahahah.

Not only can Oats play the hell out of Metroid, he’s also an amazing speaker/commentator. Love this guy.

I'm seriously impressed with Oats both running this.. insane technical game, as well as being like.. a really good GDQ runner. He was being personable, chatty, explaining the run, and giving a ton of room for donations. Most other runs don't even bother to give room for any donations. It's like.. really impressive.

Enjoying the run, just gotta give a shout-out to the host. @12:02 She dutifully read the donation, totally read the room, and HANDLED that negative air in the room, so sick. Damn and then @57:00 you dunked on her goat impression and she turned it around to focus on the donations. That's just a skilled host.

Power Bombs and Lava Maze first try is mindblowing watching you run over Varia was fun though, glad you didn't choke after that moment, showing everybody what Metroid runners are made of

Running SMI at GDQ was impressive but this was another level. An incredible run with some great clutch moments, and first-timing both the space jump spikes and acid dive sections was pure baller.

This is awesome. I remember being so proud of myself back in like 2001 when I 100% speedran this game. Can't even remember my time, but I know it was sub 3 hours (lol). But watching Oats slay this: he is the GOAT of SM.

GG! Gonna miss watching the Kaizo runs. They're awesome. Highlights of the run for me were: 24:10 - I randomly thought of Yeahlight's crazy donation pyramid a few days ago, and hearing the amount just made me go, "The madlad did it again." 37:14 - Backup strat for the Kihunter room before Screw Attack 1:48:40 - Spike maze for first power bombs 2:04:27 - Acid maze And the various donations with rhymes and execute puns; they're a lot better than previous years' donos IMO I think it would've been funny if Oats kept the explanation for skipping Mother Brain phase 3 until the escape started. Was hoping to see what the crowd's reaction would be from finding out that you can skip the fight in Kaizo lol. Really awesome run. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I’m kind of new to the speed running community and it seemed wholesome. Also my first speedrun community to join. I had a question, why does the commentator ask if they have “time” for some donations? Is it like to respect some of the game’s sections or just so she’s not constantly saying donations? Just curious. Also bro Oats and Goats is definitely a goat

There are so many rooms that would take me a week to get through alone. Forget speed running. Just doing a few of these rooms at all is insane. I’ve beaten super Metroid at least 4 times, but just the regular game is challenging enough for me lol

Nice stream but its too bad they used some sort of bilinear upscale instead of next neighbor causing the pixels/colors to look less crisp in the gameplay screen even on 1080p

I've watched your SMI run from AGDQ 2020 multiple times, and this Kaizo run seems much harder when it comes to precise execution. Even so, you absolutely killed it. Congratulations, your work towards this run has paid out hugely. Egg is cute btw.
