there was this guy i was in jail with the police caught him with 120 pounds of marijuana. When he showed up in court they were only charging him with 88 pounds. makes you think who took those 32 pounds

Drugs going missing happens more often than you think, there was a case in Austin NM where the drug dealer was released and the case thrown out because so much of the police haul was missing by the time it got to Cort

In my country the procedures have been changed years ago to prevent misuse. Only samples are kept until the court case, the rest gets weighed and destroyed ASAP.

I used to work for public housing there was a faction of coworkers in maintenance who had shady side hustles they would take possessions from apartments and sell them on the side but it’s the drugs that really bugged me there was so much drugs going through those homes a large portion of tenants used these guys simply reported what was needed to get Them evicted the rest they skimmed off the top and then resold back to other tenants

My father was a police sergeant for 27 yrs.. never once did drugs. I can say that with absolute certainty. But can attest to the addiction tendencies, with alcohol.

I used to read our city newspaper thoroughly every day back in the 1960's and 70's, and every so often, usually yearly, towards the back, a very short article would appear stating that the police departments drug confiscation storage room was discovered to be empty. This occurrence would never be reported on the local tv news however.

I always thought that the cops always kept back a portion of it, for things like Evidence, using it as Bait for criminals that they are trying to catch, maybe for public display (P.R.) and maybe even for their own consumption and sales! I've heard of them even directly competing with the drug gangs themselves; not that its happening today!
