This Has To Stop (eBay Scam) 

I've noticed that a lot from them. They even post graded cards with legit 1 picture not even the back. It's weird how such a big auction company can't provide multiple pictures for items they are auctioning off.

Hey Ruxin, even if the seller states no returns, they still have to accept returns. If the seller don't reply, open a case and eBay will step in and force a return themselves.

It's gotta be a lot of anxiety just buying sealed boxes when spending thousands on them... most I've spend was several hundred last year and I was still sketched out until I opened mine lol

Shame that this guy is still in business. I mean he "could have" been tricked, but two strikes on legacy items and ghosting your customers is very scummy.

They clearly know it's resealed and they don't care. Ebay should take them down. If you are going to reseal a box, why not do it with reprint packs. They would probably have more success scamming people that way.

For $4200 USD you better have more than one picture, they’re either completely incompetent or knowingly scamming people

I'll never deal with Probstein as a buyer or a seller. Never. the OpenBoosters scenario was the nail in the coffin for me.

The fact that he wouldn’t bother sending extra pictures of a $4k+ item sounds highly suspicious imo. Whether he’s selling resealed items intentionally or not, that along with the recent issues makes me want to avoid him entirely

Like I said in the previous video on this issue. Probstein needs to be removed from ebay and the hobby of collectibles all together. The man withheld $10,000 from openboosters and did not return it until forced to do the right thing. To many of these scenarios for them to be allowed to continue on with their shady tactics. Hurting the hobby for the sake of milking all the money they can. People rightfully so tip toe on calling them scum. But at this point it all points to them being shady shysters. And they should be treated as such.

That box is resealed, can guarantee it. Never buy boxes from a consignee.

Important video to spread awareness. It's so tough to spot a resealed box without opening it, and the fact that so many keep them sealed makes it all the more difficult to get a refund.

Regardless of who's at fault with the sealed boxes, the lack of communication and few images on auctions screams unprofessional. Then there is the frequent incidences of potential shill bidding. So sad that one of the largest yugioh consignment services puts such little care into their services.

Scams like these can be tricky to avoid. I remember when the Oldschool Expert showed a fake LOB box years ago, the fakes looked convincing to an untrained eye. It's frustrating that you can get scammed even if you find a legitimate DM set due to reseals, these boxes now go for thousands which makes collecting even shakier knowing that you can get duped if you aren't very careful. If I was collecting YGO cards, I'd only buy from a small select of sellers.

Definitely a really good video, it draws important awareness to this type of thing and can save someone a butt load of money on the chance they might unintentionally get a resealed product. I would think that overtime the chances of stumbling across resealed product increases since the supply for these rare products can only go down and within the last year or two many a folk have bought and opened authentic booster boxes. Just be careful out there everyone!

and yeah for every listing they only have 1 picture... I've seen people take photos from psa pokemon cards they were selling and make fake ebay sales off them...

Oh no that totally sucks unbelievable how sellers get away with that crap :( I really do hope people buying these things by accident getting scammed can get help to recover there money they shouldn't be able to sell resealed scam products

In all honesty, you can’t blame the scammer for his shady business. It’s quite obvious that they sell resealed product and people continue to do business with them despite knowing they will potentially get scammed. If you get scammed out of thousands of dollars by not doing research, your loss. Easy money. Any who, great video on a touchy subject.

I am surprised they did not weigh the box right off the bat. With all those crap packets stuck together and everything I would be surprised if it even weighed within the range of a genuine box. I bought two MRL boxes and the second was clearly a fake on arrival and weighed more and was not flat. To be fair the seller refunded me but it’s scary.

claiming to not accept returns means nothing on ebay. ebay always sides with the buyer as long as the item isn't as described

this is one of those issues with collecting things of value like this. I have not spent a whole lot on yugioh but have on other card games and I always would buy from someone I trust. It is unfortunate that there are people like this out here that try to scam collectors. Always be safe out there guys.

Also if you could make a vid on fake BGS slabs. The ones without the “.” I was gonna buy a DDS blue eyes a few weeks ago then realized on the photos the seller sent me there wasn’t a “TM” on the “YuGiOh” logo on the back of the card & it was in a BGS slab

Probstein sounds like they are just buying things and reselling for profit and not vetting anything. It doesn’t appear they are actively scamming because they sell so many different things.

Hey rux tell the person who bought that box to go through their bank for a refund i recently had an issue on eBay and when taking to them they pretty much told me the buyer is 1000% protected and the sellers have pretty much 0 protection and that a buyer can open a case with their bank to get a refund and eBay has no control over that,figured might be a helpful tip for anyone who gets scammed on eBay cuz that’s totally messed up and people like that should be banner from eBay immediately!!

Go to eBay and open a case. They will refund you, it'll take time and wrangling. Chances are, this seller got a batch of resealed rubbish and he's just selling them off. Worst case is, he's the one doing these fake boxes. Either way, I think the seller should be avoided.

Fun fact. VISA has a way to dispute counterfeit items. Your credit card company can be contacted and request to file a dispute as long as you can prove it's counterfeit

They can't just go and "I'm too busy to do this properly". It's a huge red flag showing that they either don't know, don't care, or they DO know and are doing shady stuff. I've seen a couple comments here trying to help Jose's situation so if you can mark them so more people can know what to do, would be amazing. Scammers are the worst shit ever and I'm hoping they will get what they deserve soon and stop this.

Seems that someone is using their shop for scamming and SOMEHOW are not being aware. It may sound ridiculous, but it makes no sense of how a shop like them has a f*ton of feedback, yet not replying anyone and/or selling suspicious items anyway. We have to be extremely careful now.

It's one thing for a seller to know something is a scam and sell it. It's another thing for a seller that accepts consignment sells fake goods. Glad I avoid sellers like this one.

Its crazy that ebay doesn't takes down a seller like that. I recently started to get into ebay and even i saw this seller and thought, this looks weird to me. Not much scans of single cards and those weird discriptions. I think this Probstein has no idea of ygo but knows what he's doing in terms of selling on ebay. And it's a line between super sketchy and not up to date selling service. This should not be allowed.

I'd get a lawyer involved, thats between $2,000-$5,000 scammed purchased product from a crooked seller on Ebay that's posing as legit. Plus you have video evidence!! Find the person, send a court order. Get sum hundreds back instead of 0.

People say "1996" because they look at the copyright licensing that's written on the bottom of the cards. It say 1996 Kazuki Takahashi and people who don't know anything think it is the release date

Probstein has been called out before for selling fake BGS slabs as well. Avoid that seller. Not worth the headache.

FYI it's considered fraud. Ebay will 100% back you. If not your bank (esp. if you're using credit) will also back you. Don't just get scammed and do nothing about it. Honestly surprised this guy's account is still up.

There is also buyers who scam seller on ebay. I recently sold a pair of cartier glasses to someone in atlanta in the usa and he said the glasses were not inside the parcel and that he only got the case and outer box and that the parcel was not damaged nor tampered with and he told ebay i scammed him and send him an empty glasses case. I made the parcel myself and the glasses were inside the case and the case was inside a red cartier box and this box was inside a parcel with air filled plastic bags on all sides and the parcel was completely taped on every inch. So hes clearly lying because if he got the case he got the glasses too because they were inside the case, he also has not got the 4 spare screws and the cartier dustcloth he says who were also inside the case. And now he wants to return only the case and cartier box and ger his money back and i contacted ebay about this scammer but they choose his side and want me to accept his return or they will force me and refund him on my behalf. So now this idiot is going to ship me an empty case and box back and i will have to refund him and he stole my 900 euro glasses. Im so angry at this piece of shit person.

Just avoid buying boxes in general unless going through you or a legit seller. Otherwise this happens and you have a battle to do. Ultimately you’ll get your money but how long it takes is the problem. One headache I wouldn’t want to deal with.

Always do your homework when buying vintage boxes, 50% of the time it’s resealed. After two months it’s kinda sketchy so check that day and make sure especially when you’re spending +$3000

Unfortunately eBay probably won't do anything, simply because eBay makes money regardless. It's similar as to why scalping is a issue. eBay doesn't care, they still make money. Unfortunately, I think unless something is done federally, or at least people need to email and contact eBay extensively about this. Especially about scalping. Scalpers should be allowed to exist.

eBay is supposed to hold the funds on a high value item like that till customer gives them the green light on the transaction incase of issue such as this so deff if I was him I would talk to the bank about it :)

This is really sad. Such a big seller scamming, either intentionally or unintentionally. And even if you give a bad review his overall rating isn't going to be affected much

they should add extra info instead of bidding an item with one picture, regardless this show a lack of appreciation towards the people who are buying the product whether its them or the person who gave it to them and just ruin the yugioh experience
