I love your work man! I have owned a 05 300c for 8 years now! It’s the cool vanilla color. Bought it when I was 16 and didn’t know too much about the car, other than it looked beautiful and it had the hemi engine. It’s been a fantastic reliable car and super fun to drive. I bought it with 91k miles on it and fun fact I found a crack pipe under the little section right beside the shifter 😂😢. I’ve put 22 inch chrome kmc slides on the car, redone the front suspension, changed the fluids, tuned it up, and put a Diablo sport tuner on it (all with the help of RU-vid), and have done other countless maintenance because I myself have believed these are as good as cars get in terms of quality, reliability, and performance. Man I wish I had enough money to get the 6.1 hemi, but at the time but I was 16 working at McDonald’s making 10.50 an hour. I’m 24 now with two little kids running around. I still own this car a 05 ram 1500 with the 5.7 for the work truck in construction, and a 2017 pacifica to haul the kids and our family around. Anyways I love the work you put towards these old Chrysler hemi cars they’re very informative. All of the vehicles I’ve owned are Chryslers and they haven’t let me down. Maintenance is key like you have mentioned in your videos towards any vehicle.

I have an '07' Charger RT AWD that I've put coil overs on as well. Its been treated to Arrington Performance heads, cam and 85mm throttle body, JBA shorties and a ProCharger P1-sc. Presently 508.5hp and 438 torque at the crank. It also has 256500kms on it so it'll soon need some close inspection. It is a blast to drive and handles like a go-kart.

I think something like a full bolt on install video series would be not only entertaining, but helpful to a lot of the Mopar community. Maybe later on down the road when you get passionate about it. Although the two turbo charged hemi super sick , it was a lot out of a lot of people’s abilities. Still loved to watch it though.

I have a 2010 AWD R/T with a 5.7 liter Hemi. It seemed like the Mopar engineers gave the cars to the Jeep division to make them AWD because they were jacked up really high, just about like this 300 is. It was pretty good but had more bump steer than I expected and did not handle that great in spite of beefy roll bars and a firm ride. The best feature was its launch. When you hammer it you get no wheel spin and simply make the jump to light speed. So, I put in some lowering springs to put the ride height back down to normal height and some better shocks and it now handles like it is on rails. I think you could have made this 300 a joy to drive by fixing the shocks and bushings and by lowering about 1-1/2 inches. Chryslers 300s are sprung for highway cruising not for misbehaving.

I actually had planned to install the coil-overs for the AWD vehicles, but I think one thing I was really struggling with is the super tall gearing that can't be changed. But you're absolutely right about them being a 4x4 😄

I'd like to see the 300c instead personally. That being said, this video is extremely helpful. I am by no means mechanic but get behind the idea of checking everything yourself regardless of who worked on ot before. Just bought a vehicle after the previous owner pulled the engine and said everything was "good". You know it wasn't. Also found that he had lied about half the parts he stated he replaced. My 2011 charger 5.7 Hemi needed the cam and lifters. I'm planning on putting that Melling Hellcat oil pump on it. I did find rockauto has an OE timing chain by itself that isn't too expensive. My 06 Daytona Go Mango had a 118k when I traded it and I changed the oil and rotated and replaced wipers every 3k. The only major mechanical issue was a bad injector at 14k. Otherwise it was just normal wear items including the drive shaft at 100k which totally woke her up. That carrier bearing is hidden so I physically yanked on the drive shaft at the dealer and told them to replace it.

@ReignitedAuto
@ReignitedAuto 9 месяцев назад
There's always a chance that the pickup tube o-ring got pinched/cut during installation. But other than that it's going to be hard to narrow it down. There are a series of plugs in the block itself that block off the oil passages, it's possible that one of them is loose/leaking, but unlikely.

Did repairing the cylinder head fix the clacking sound you were getting? Reason I ask is because my 2016 Charger Pursuit had a cam installed right before i bought it. About six months later it developed a clacking sound from around cylinder #1. I'm wondering if "human error" is an issue. Oil pressure is about 26-28psi at idle. I'm a mechanic, and I can tell you the human caused issues I fix at work can lead me down the rabbit right quick.

I did see video, where they did say, if edge of piston is clean. It means oil gets past rings and burn close edge of piston and keeps its clean. Like in cylinder number 6. What you think about that?
@ReignitedAuto
@ReignitedAuto 9 месяцев назад
It's a possibility, but I would attribute it more to a head gasket issue allowing coolant into the cylinders. I did end up changing the head gasket on that side after I pulled the engine out and all apart. Cleaned all the pistons as well, nasty in there!

How hard is it to take the oil pan off the 5.7 in an AWD Commander and check the rod bearings? My son bought one with a "lifter tick." We pulled the valve covers off and found a broken intake spring and bent pushrod. All others looked ok. Put it all back together with some new parts and fired it up again. Still ticking and maybe a very faint knocking. While in there, we found the water pump was totally shot and replaced it as well. Is there a chance we just didn't run the engine long enough to get the lifters all pumped back up (less than a minute) or should I be anticipating a more serious tear down? Thanks!

@ReignitedAuto
@ReignitedAuto 9 месяцев назад
The pistons are not specific, but they are usually pressed on to the rods (the wrist pins don't have circlips that hold the piston in place) and the rods have one shoulder that is thicker than the other. This thicker side goes toward the outer edge of the crank journal. This means that if you are talking about stock piston and rods there will be 4 that work on one side, and 4 that work on others.
