@@ariathyf144, the fact that the have TOTALLY ignored your comment, as well as the multiple messages I sent via their website, indicates that I ought to avoid this store at all costs! The Performer 5 is currently the equivalent of USD$153 in my country.
The good budget iems are the reason I'm here spending money on this that I wouldn't have otherwise. Thanks 7hz Zero and Truthear Zero for introducing me to the hobby.
Owner of a B2:Dusk here. Judging by the FR alone, the Aful looks even better tonality-wise tbh. That ~8KHz peak on the Dusk can be agressive at times, I usually EQ it down.
that 8kHz is probably the coupler's resonance, most likely. I think it's the "compressed" quality of the BA used, which evidently they are high in distortion, especially when played at a high loudness level. but when you play at a moderate loudness level, it's not even peaky but smooth. it also sounds better with wide bore ear tips like Azla Sedna Earfit Light
@@barbasour it is, but it also resonates inside ear cannals, mine is actually around 7,6KHz with the Dusk, but same peak. I do use it with Spring tips for a deeper insertion.
@@VitorMach yes but it's how they implemented it. there are other factors like crossover design (frequency divider), tubing, damping, etc. there are some measurements I've seen out there. I think it was audiosciencereview
It's nice to get some competition with more appropriate price brackets. Hopefully in the upcoming months, we will get Variations level sounding IEMs at $200 below. I'm one to be hopeful considering how much the IEM market has evolved in the past months alone wherein an IEM with poor/meh tuning gets obsolete right there and then.
100% man, I have just been listening to these today myself, wow, they are friken killers.. Exceptionally good detail retrieval and imaging.. Feel like I've rediscovered music again with these things
My endgame IEM’s ♥️ I loooove these soo much from the fit, comfort, design, and of course the sound. Honestly, half of the reason I bought it was for the name😂 it’s an Aful IEM😏
With all due respect, the Performer5 only looks good on the graph. I was not able to connect with the sound however hard I tried. The Hiby Lasya is significantly better than this. Better controlled bass, much more open and transparent midrange, much better separation and imaging, a wider and more airy presentation with very good treble. The Lasya is a significant contender under $200 being just a single DD, but sadly it is totally flying under the radar.
I agree mostly with this review. I've had the Performer 5 for a couple weeks now and can say the sub bass is addictive. I got this IEM for $162 and it's pretty spectacular for under $200. This is a sub bass IEM, period. Still somewhat neutral sounding but a little laid back and not as airy in the treble region. If you are a treble person, explore the blessing options. You can listen to this iem all day without fatigue. Still great vocals and details though. Especially for the price. If you want more, just as Timmy says, go up to the $500+ IEM's.
Timmy, How difficult are these to drive? Does the sound quality you talk about come through on the iPhone with an Apple dongle or do the need something stronger? Thanks in advance!!!
okay, I'm loving my Kato, but I'm kind of craving the next step up.. Would this be enough of a jump or do I save up and head for a higher tier?? Decisions, decisions...
Very nice review! Unfortunately I can't decide between the Performer 5 and the Hidizs MP145. It would be important to me that the vocals are very close to the ear and that the whole thing has an intimate sound and everything sounds detailed. It should be operated with my Qudelix 5K, can you perhaps help me with the choice?
OMG... I need to resist the hyped temptation!!!! but as a detail lover I'm already married to the Timeless... at least until I earn enough for the SA6 ultra :D or until I sell one lung and a kidney to get the Anole VX... :DD
@@kurincc I know, but it has been so succesfull that I'm pretty sure they are gonna launch a new batch in 2023. everybody involved wins with the business... why not do it?
@@kurincc I know, but it'd be no surprising at all if a new batch is launched in 2023. Everybody involved wins. In fact, it has already done with the LetShuoer Z12 and the LetShuoer S12 Pro, so...
hey Timmy, how would you treat these IEMs? can it be use for some monitoring? been watching your reviews of IEMs lately and I do love how you give people some idea about one product..
I recieved the Sa6 ultra n°156, very happy of the way it sounds. I was hesitating with the performer 5 that was just anounced but not available. So i choosed the ultra before all be sold. Is there a big difference between them ?
Would you personally say that these are a better "all rounder" than the Moondrop Blessing 2 Dusk? You and many others talk highly of this IEM but I would love to know which one would you'd choose if the Performer 5 and Dusk BOTH had a $220 price tag? Yes.... the P5 has more bass but with all things aside which one are you putting in a small bag for both electronic music and gaming?
Do you think that it is worth to pay more for Dusk if I looove japanese female vocals like Ado, Lisa, Aimer etc? Or are these good enough for female vocals and it's not worth to pay more?
Hey Timmy, I bought these based on your recommendation and I absolutely LOVE them. I even prefer these over my Monarch MKII and Kinera Nanna 2.0. What would be the “endgame” version of the Aful Performer 5? The 64 Audio Nio or something like that?
How do these compare to the Focus EDM? I dont buy IEM's often and my last ones I used daily before the focus EDM were the Sony XBA A2 (so comparisons to all these other weird name IEM's means literally nothing to me). I currently use the Focus EDM's and my sennheiser 58x Jubilee's. Would buying these offer me anything im not getting from either the Senns or the Focus?
I would like to ask would these perform well for competitive gaming? Im vurrently playing valorant, apex and the likes. If not, what would be your recommendations?
Here after the explorer unboxing because I love love love my P5. Recently I got back into iem reviews and have been working through a collection including the DUSK 2, Monarch MKii, DUNU Talos and others. The P5 blew me away immediately and made a lasting impression on me. I haven't found an iem under $300 that i feel are better than the p5. Nearly every thing you said about them matches my experience, so it's good to have confirmation. I'm working on my DUSK 2 review now, and love it, but I'm very curious how I'll like it vs the P5. From memory, the P5 is better in treble, sounds a bit richer, and a bit smoother through the upper mids. I'll be doing a comparison soon to see how my memory holds up. Anyway, thanks for the review. Great stuff.
should i get this or the hifiman deva pro? (i like hiphop a LOT, its my fav genre, heard the deva pro aint great for that), but i really wanna try huge soundstage. so im torn rn between bass/matching the genre and fun soundstage and great mids and treble. thoughts, anyone?
Currently I'm using olina se and I get wide soundstage and holographic imaging on olina se. Now I want to upgrade to aful p5. Is it also give holographic imaging and soundstage please tell me.
Hi bro, i love your reviews. But there is this thing here in China that is named Aful Band5 pro. I wonder if its the same or not, but looks identical. 😅😅
Hows performer 5 compared vs Raptgo Hook X planar? They about $32 more for Performer 5. I have 7hz timeless already. But i need another less fatiguing iems.
Great video! I am considering this IEM. Also by Aful, I am toying with spending an extra $160.00 for the P8. Any thoughts? Oh and if it helps answer my question, I am 95% planning on using them for live performance. I am a singer and guitar player in bands and using backing tracks, mostly classic rock. I would be using these instead of my JBL PRX612m wedge monitor.
Also, I don't see a Blessing 2 Dusk available from Moondrop. Is that the same as Blessing 2? I was also looking at the Moondrop Blessing 3. How does the Blessing 2 and 3 stack up against the P5? Again, I don't see any "Dusk" model.
Hi! I need help... There is an offer in themaketplace for an IER M7 for around $280 ... Would you recommed me get the ier m7 over the aful m5 brandnew? Thank you much! Love your channel btw
220? I thought 999!!! Where did this misinformation come from? I think people are a bit angry or sad at this iem because it makes them feel like this iem devalues what they have, as if they have wasted their money. But keep in mind, something like the Kato, or timeless are still very good
