Since im sure some are curious - I also tested crown of tempests and getaway artists extensively to see how they compared and here is what I found... Crown Of Tempests -> Straight up, Fallen sunstar is better in every way shape and form. Both of these exotics require arc ability kills to proc their exotic perks in one way or another, and an EXTRA 12.5% to grenade and melee and an EXTRA 15% to class ability on every single kill completely eclipses the bonus passive regeneration from conductive tines x3 which only lasts for 6 seconds anyway. Trust me, sunstar is miles better. Getaway Artist -> A lot of people were convinced that the "sentient arc soul" from getaway is better/stronger than the one from the arc soul aspect... I wasnt 100% sure so we tested on the live stream and... well... a getaway artist sentient arc soul does the exact same damage and has the exact same fire-rate as an amplified rift arc soul from the aspect. But getaway artist kind of sucks because to acquire that arc soul you have to sacrifice your grenade instead of being able to use it offensively, AND you can only give the arc soul to yourself whereas with the aspect you can give it to your entire team. Additionally, there is no way to refresh the timer of the grenade arc soul other than to eat another grenade, whereas the arc soul from the rift can last 14 seconds + whatever the duration of the rift is since you can refresh the timer anytime you touch the rift. As always, use what you want, but if you care about my advice, stay away from these 2 exotics and go with sunstar!
Kinda sad to see Tempests just be completely bullied by Sunstar. Sounds like Tempests needs a rework to hit some other part of Arc. And yeah, I feel like they did an update to Arc Souls that basically killed Getaway Artists. It needs a rework too.
If you have the arc soul aspect on then you can refresh the timer of sentient arc soul by going through the rift and the timer is increased to 20 seconds, on top of that kills with the sentient arc soul give grenade energy back. The only drawback is that if you have a normal arc soul up by casting a rift and you eat your grenade it doesn't give you the sentient arc soul and only increases the timer.
If you use Getaway Artist and run the Aspect with the Arcsoul Rift, you can refresh your cooldown to 20 sec. But make sure to eat the Grenade before you place/enter your Rift.
I ran tests, today. Ionic traces grant percentage ability charge based on the base cooldown of an ability, and not of the ability cooldown dictated by the stats. So even with Tier 2 discipline, you'll only need 4 ionic traces and perhaps a rift to get your grenade back - the same applies to discipline Tier 10. With that, you'll only have to focus on two stats: Resilience and recovery. It's really insane how little the requirements are! Additionally, i want to add two possible fragments: Spark of Discharge for an extra ionic trace after killing enemies with an Arc weapon, and Spark of Amplitude to create an Orb of Power after rapidly defeating targets while amplified. Speed Booster is also a 20% damage reduction, so never stop running.
@Mactics and anyone here, a piece of advice from someone who has been maining ArcLock since 3.0 dropped: 1. Swap out Spark of Magnitude for Spark of Amplitude. It's seriously the difference between generating 30 orbs and 80-100. You will always be amplified with this build and almost every kill generates an orb. It's nuts. I have found the additional 1 second of uptime on your pulse is not worth all the orbs you lose. 2. Add Dynamo to your helmet. You will be using your class ability ALL THE TIME. Combine the super cooldown from Dynamo with all the orbs you create and you will be spamming supers right along side your grenades and rifts. 3. I've tried the Arc Surge on the legs and I have found it to be not worth it. Instead of wasting armor slots on Charged up, Elemental Charge, and Arc Surge, try out and extra resistance mod on the chest and Innervation and Absolution on the legs. Again, orb creation will be off the charts so orb mods will have a much higher pay off. 4. If you are crafting your Ikelos, Feeding Frenzy is much better than Threat Detector for this build. If you are crafting your Path of Least Resistance, Subsistence can get in the way of reloading to activate Jolt. I would recommend Adaptive Munitions instead. I know I'm just a nobody but I've been playing this build for a while. Feel free to give these changes a try and see how they feel :)
I’ve been using amplitude instead of ions, but this makes a lot more sense actually. Will definitely try this setup the next time I play. Already with you on the arc weapon surge- it just doesn’t seem that important.
Weapons are always my biggest stumbling block when it comes to builds. I missed a bunch of seasons and never seem to have/be able to get what is recommended. What weapons would you suggest that are available now?
Here's my own personal variation on this build --Coldheart as Energy Weapon Not only does this weapon output some nasty damage (third only to Witherhoard and Ager's Scepter), the amount of ionic traces it creates just from damaging targets while in its high damage state is lovely. The amount of grenades we're chucking out already doesn't really warrant a voltshot energy weapon when coldheart just feels so much more useful. The only problem I've run into is that sometimes I run out of ammo for coldheart if no ammo decides to drop for an eternity, so be sure to have a good kinetic weapon to back it up --Replace Spark of Ions with Spark of Beacons Spark of Ions feels a little too redundant to use when you're already generating so many ionic traces, an additional one every ten seconds doesn't feel like it's worth the fragment slot Spark of Beacons, however. Oh my goodness. Every arc special weapon kill will blind nearby enemies. Blinding is one of the most valuable keywords in GM's (for arc, at least), since you can handle crowds easily. It comes in handy much more times than Spark of Ions, since it has no cool down, and can save your skin in a pinch PLUS Blinded targets create ionic traces on death, so you'll end up creating many many more ionic traces than you would with Spark of Ions --Replace Spark of Resistance with Spark of Amplitude (Maybe) This one is up to preference, but if you like orbs of power, then this fragment is for you. I understand the value of damage resistance, however, so this one is just up to personal preference For mods, make sure you have arc reserves and scavenger, as well as a special ammo finder for the cold heart EXTRA VARIATION - SUPPORT FOCUS Switch out Fallen Sunstar for Cenotaph mask and Coldheart for Divinity You may not be feeding your teammates ability energy anymore, but you'll be feeding them heavy ammo instead.
Hi just did his build but read your comment and I want to say thank you because my arc build is crack. The cold heart is like chef kiss. I hope you have a blessed year thank you 🙏🏽
what would you run as a kinetic in this situation? mainly for gms or master sectors, feel like cold heart isn’t enough clear vs runner or something else
I finally grabbed a Fallen Sunstar yesterday from the lost sector and I'm immediately hooked. This is instantly one of my favorite setups, especially during season 21. If anyone doesn't have this exotic yet, use Verity's Brow. It's good for any warlock subclass and situation.
For Master and Grandmaster content Id highly recomend switching from Sunstar to The Stag. Yeah your not spamming your abilities nearly as frequently but you become an absolute tank in your healing rift with your Arc Soul, Spark of Resistance and exotic perk.
additionally, running any grenade launcher with disorienting grenade is amazing for survivability. The blind from the grenade launcher temporarily stops most enemies in the game from shooting for a few seconds, which is insanely strong since if they aren't shooting, then you aren't taking damage. I run this in GMs and can reliably cover two of the three champion mobs, sometimes all three. It's a good time to be a Stormcaller that's for sure!
no you will not. rifts are too slow at recovering health, even in well you can die, next it only boosts resistance like 3x for 4s after calling rift. its same like osmiomancy when you go invisible. to help you not die when you run away. but if you shoot or attack all that resistance is gone
Amazing vid as always! One thing I'd HIGHLY recommend is to run a dynamo mod on your helmet. (I run 2) From what I've tested 1x gets you about 8~10% and 2x is for sure 12.5%. We get so many Ionic Traces that allow rift spam which can net you your super in about a minute
@@austin842 in terms of path of least resistance. 1.) no shoot to loot doesn’t proc voltshot. 2.) demo doesn’t work on voltshot. 3.) in path’s perk pool, shoot to loot is the best one. In the perk pool. Also in order to proc voltshot, u gotta manually reload.
Arc warlock was the first thing I ever used when I got into destiny. The feeling of slaying everything and becoming some god of lightning is probably why I continued playing the game. 3000 hours later, I'm so happy arc warlock is finally back
Honestly I'm hesitant to use builds from huge names with huge views because I find a lot of clickbait happens in most games but your channel has proved that mindset wrong repeatedly, your builds are phenomenal and bring so much fun to the game for me. Thank you
I haven’t even finished watching vid yet so idk if u mention it, but coldheart is incredible for generating ionic traces and does really good damage even when 20-30 light under
The only reason why I choose Chain Lightning melee over Ball Lightning is that while amplified that extra chain damage triggers Impact Induction more and even with the change to BL, enemies still either move or stagger out of it. If you’re in the thick of things it’s just better overall AoE damage and even easier cleanup for Arc Souls.
I've pretty much been running this since arc 3.0 (even in GMs) with various weapons... ikelos, brigands, tripwire, tarnished mettle, forbearance... the exotic fusion that gives ionic traces is phenomenal as well. I gotta say though. As much as this build SLAPS, Mac, you always have the best insight on what mods to run to make it even better. ❤❤❤
LFG/Voltshot Prodigal Return with Queenbreaker and another special weapon in my kinetic slot has been my main loadout with my variation of this build when running solo. Voltshot special grenade launchers are IMO the best overall weapon for the perk as the combatant damage scaling for the weapon type beats out fusion rifles for every enemy type except bosses, and it only loses there by a minuscule amount. You’re also always reloading with a special grenade launcher so you get the most value out of Voltshot with it. As for Queenbreaker, the Lightfall sandbox update treated it really well in that it can chain to other targets by default and it now applies Arc blind status effects, which pairs beautifully with Electrostatic Mind. This loadout is weak when it comes to boss DPS, but it’s incredibly strong for add clear and ionic trace generation.
Been using Spark of Beacons instead of Ions, paired with Coldheart and whatever Kinetic slot special (usually Heritage). Coldheart gens Ionic Traces (replaces Spark of Ions), and Beacons makes things 'splode...
Yea, I don't have the cat yet. on the second part. the 200 part. But I will get there. I was wondering how that Centrifuse would work out. I have been using it a lot. Just to get through the catalyst. I don't have the sunstar yet. So using the Getaway. Its a hell of a force though.
The number of people suggesting delicate tomb is an L, coldheart has more range, more single target damage, and more trace generation. I guess DT is more fun, but it’s not as if a giant blue ramping laser is boring either.
Similar to what I run on Warlock apart from a couple of mods. I use grenade kickstart and not elemental charge or the one that picks up orbs. I create enough orbs to fill the 4 charges just moving around the map. I also use Delicate Tomb and the whole thing is ridiculous. I can fire up 3 rifts in about the normal time it takes to do 2 plus grenade, melee and rifts are pretty much constantly up. Throw a grenade, spank something with the melee, pop a rift and immediately have full grenade charge to throw another. Rinse, repeat. It just never stops. A big bonus is survivability and the sparkling light show.
I play this except cutting primary weapons. I haven't ran a primary in PvE in at least a week, and it's been great. There's a dude that has a vid dedicated to how D2's ammo economy works - unfortunately I can't remember his name. Builds that can lean heavily into abilities benefit greatly from D2's ammo drop rates via running double special. I have heavy everywhere in the final dungeon boss of Ghosts of the Deep. The only exception has been Lucky Pants + Crimson/Malf.
my current arc warlock build is pretty much identical, however i haven't tried leveraging it this season even with the new chaos reach buff and new artifact mods. thanks for the reminder that arc warlock is still good!
Coldheart with the Fragment that gives Arc Special Weapons a blind explosion on kill is much more worth running than Voltshot. Sunstar is so good by itself you dont really need the mods for extra ability energy BUT I highly recommend using Dynamo on your Helmet for rhe Super Energy. You get your rift back so fast the Super Energy really adds up fast.
Absolutely hands down the best Stormcaller exotic and it’s not even close! Unless the supers get some crazy buff (which it doesn’t seem like they will anytime soon) nothing gets close!
I run this build since I aquired the Fallen Sunstar when it was introduced the first time the lost sector came up for helmet rotation I grinded it for 7+ hours to get this helmet and it completed my arc build. I've used trace rifles since before they've been buffed and I have always loved them voltshot it by far one of the most beautiful perks I've seen but I just can't get away from Divinity watching my Soul buddy hit high crit numbers on that bubble is just soooo satisfying 😂😂 especially on higher targets but for red bar mobs I use anything with Osmosis perk mostly Timelost Fatebringer with Osmosis and Firefly or I'll swith to frenzy. So I'm still ability spamming and still using an arc weapon.
I would recommand coldhard combined with the fragment which blinds target on special weapon kills. Blinded targets will also create an ionic trace on kills.
Crazy Build! Was using this in Gambit and just realized Powerful Attraction also works for motes! Straight up mote vacuum in Gambit LoL. Keep up the awesome builds!
Ive been pretty much running this exact build since last season. Only difference is a prefer using trinity ghoul since everything will proc lightning rod.
@Mactics - Been using this for a few seasons, but I'm using Spark of Discharge instead of Ions. Using with Dark Decider or Ikelos produces more Ionic Traces than the grenade. It's also a steady drip, so no wasted traces. Give it a try.
Something I'll be keeping a close eye on moving forward is the Collective Action perk. It's a 20% damage buff for 6 seconds whenever you pick up an Elemental Pickup (ie. Ionic Trace). Right now, only Nation of Beasts and Techeun Force are Arc weapons that can roll with it. A Distant Pull in the kinetic slot can roll with it as a nice alternative to Witherhorde though.
I just found your channel like a month ago but I've tried a few builds and damn are they fun. I took a break from d2 so I don't have some armor yet but this one looks fun as well. Keep up the good work!
Yea. I had to bring this build back out when Rick khakis played with me on strikes with his void titan. Now, I just rock a solar warlock to heal my team and ignite and take down bosses with my sword and restoration. I don’t get as many kills but I feel it makes the strikes run smoother. Don’t make sense for 1 per to have 3 times as many kills and make it less fun for others.
Welp, I'm gonna say it. This music slaps HARDER than Datto's raid guide music. I missed alot of the build details but totes worth cause i can rewatch it. Lmao another banger build video my guy! ❤
I have a build from season of the seraph, albeit only the subclass now because of lightfall. Just put whatever mods and its juicy. Did master Vow with this build because I was messing around and bored yet I survived better than those who were trying. I recommend using blinding nades because I personally like to do higher content and having everything blinded and jolted is so nice. Special arc weapon of your choice (forebearance for me) with the fragment that causes special kills to blind the area. You generate weapon from killing debuffed targest. Now you cause 2 Ionic traces at once; killing enemy with arc weapon + killing blinded enemy. Trace rifles are literally a "special" primary so if you want a primary you can use the arc trace from season of the seraph or cold heart. This build of mine is not reliant on the artifact in any shape or form but the artifact increases it's potency
I’ve been running this build for about a year now. Something that I’ve found that really tips this over the edge is any weapon with voltshot. Traces for days.
Double special is great for arclocks right now. I use a Riptide fusion with autoloading holster/chill clip and a voltshot trace rifle. This opens up the heavy slot for exotics and i find that Grand overture is the beast you want to have. Great for add clear and special ammo generation due to its high ammo capacity and also amazing for burst dps. Personally, i am addicted to vesper of radius. High ability uptime because of the ionic traces and the slide melee pairs insanely well for a wombo combo, allowing you to use your rift very aggresively.
Am I missing something when I see that having Electrostatic Mind equipped means you don’t need to use Spark of Ions? Electro Mind already does what Spark of Ions does. Wouldn’t it be better to equip something else like Spark of Beacons for arc special builds or spark of recharge for better ability regen?
Have been using this build since lightfall’s release and it slaps (even harder with this season’s artifact). Would recommend stats for all on path of least resistance and feeding frenzy on ikelos to increase reload speed for more consistent volt shot procs.
I have a challange. As a person that likes to work in a team, I'm curious to see a build that consists of 3 or more people. What I mean is, each of them is part of the whole build. And if everyone is doing their job, the whole team is benefiting in some way, like a titan that gives everyone an overshield or a warlock giving restoration or a hunter making everyone radiant. Like a mashine and each member is a diiffrent part of it. Imagine what this will do in a nightfall. I'm sure it posible, but it's very complicated. I would be intrested to see some opinions on this.
Hmm whats that site called where you can look what your best armor combo is? Not DIM but…. I cant recall… if anyone knows. Yell please. Appreciate it. Awesome build Mac❤ love it
Arclock was okay before. When 3.0 hit it became a beast! I wish we had a new exotic that made the other aspect usable though. There's literally no reason to...
@@imcarolean Awful take lol, all the arc subclasses (including warlock) were total shit before 3.0, now they’re all quite good. And I’ve been using arclock 3.0 since it got that big buff in season 19.
Been using this exotic paired with delicate tomb since they launched. Its my favorite arc spam build. A lot of the time i never shoot my gun i get my abilities back so fast
Another epic build by far my favorite build videos so simple to understand load up into dim and use and they are always so fun and simple and super powerful please don't stop bro maybe a pvp build video might be an awesome idea
if you guys dont have neither the two guns with voltshot(my case), i rock delicate tomb with catalyst and everything is going great(not as great as ikelos), but it is very good
This build is so much fun...but ngl..since I found out about button binding on console on your solar titan video....I haven't stopped playing solar titan lol
Also, a very very good weapon to pair with this is the *Delicate Tomb* exotic fusion rifle that when u get kills with it, it had a chance to spawn an *Ionic Trace* not only that when collecting said trace it overcharges the next couple of shots to also *Jolt* targets, it isn't required for the build but if u wanna take things to the next level, Try It
Sorry for beeing so late. But in case u still wonder what the song was called: Neon World - new electric waves. The other dude who commented was a complete waste of time
