@MacticsG1 i need some help mactics, im having a hard time with stats in armor for hunter, but its hard because i dont have a lot of armor for mobility. while looking into it i notice that both main dodges actually have a short cooldown and starting to question why most builds that creators make ask for high mobility stat. even more so i messed around with some mods that reduce mob stat (while only having 1 on) and found that i was able to get my dodge back within 15-25 seconds with 30 mob... so i need to know. why is mob important at all if its possible to get short cooldown with 30 mob and mods??
Hey Mactics, did you know you can proc lucky pants simply by pressing tab twice really fast to bring your ghost out and put it away? I'm not sure if lucky pants was intended to work this way or not.
Apart from the blatant and frankly ridiculous clickbait titles they are great. The titles are starting to put me off at this point. "One-shots everything"? Crimson huh, with it's bursts one-shots EVERYTHING? Just stop...
I think that Solar is the better choice for this build. It gives it a higher ceiling and more survivability. That said, I have a VERY similar setup for Strand, from Plunder's video, and I have completely fallen in love with it! Lucky Pants and Hand Cannons are back baby :D
I think I prefer the Strand version to the Solar version due to the higher amount of CC and the relative "Champion Agnostic" nature of how Suspend essentially deals with every Champion type (though Overloads can still be an issue without adequate burst). In easier content, Solar probably wins out because the need for crowd control and survival is lessened significantly, but in harder content, Suspending everything should win out despite slightly less DPS.
I can understand higher dps because of Radiant, but survivability is a wash because Strand can literally turn entire groups of enemies off whereas healing nades aren’t a guarantee to survive incoming fire.
Yeah, Monti is right. Give it time. People will start running this build and it’ll gain popularity. Then it’ll get nerfed. Enjoy it while you can. Soon you too will join those of us who have lost our favorite builds to the almighty nerf gods. Haha
Yes, please no more excessive videos… my drang was killing years ago w/ 2 free range finder mods, my mini bonk, stackable one hit shoulder charge, dual pulse nade then HOIL ⛈️ nade. All my tools to solo the entire game…. Then streamers, and competitive raiders take a build that solo is awesome, but not game breaking in stacks it with 5 players I need immediately get NERFED. My only warlock build is Sun Brazzerz. The day they changed the snap to instantly come back…. Now almost a year later every video in the world because one famous streamer finally did it properly. But now that the super is amazing… This is my hunter build with a redirection 180 doing 75% dmg+boots and surge and radiant. The only thing I would have left is the girl Falcons+ lightning punch+ Amkhara gloves 3 knive trip grenade Come to think of it hunters and warlocks almost never lose their incredibly OP builds. Death star warlock and old top tree, Dawn blade for the best for like three years. Titan gets Nerfed immediately … stasis titan, shoulder charge nerf x3, Laura, helm Nerfed twice. Mini bonk, and finally HOIL that they absolutely annihilated it. Syntho nerf. One eye mask. Citans Rampart Our exotics pretty much suck now. No one can tell me storm grenade was more OP then this Hunter or sun racers or dual nade Dawn blade
Have been running crimson/lucky pants since WQ, and it is really cool to see my favorite D2 content creator cover it! Love the guide! As a sleeper legendary option, seventh seraph revolver with reconstruction/harmony or vorpal is pretty nice.
I've been running Malf with Lucky for a while now aswell, has never let me down. Getting 6 shots off with that 10x boost for 20k damage precision hits (pre hand cannon damage buff) handled majors and minibosses alike with ease. Especially against taken enemies. However, I have been enlightened to Crimsons capabilities; I will try it out.
This build is *insane*- so much fun! Easily one of my fave builds ever. The only thing I’d advise is to think of your hand cannon as your “anti big target” firearm. Run an energy weapon you enjoy using that acts as your main and switch to your hand cannon to nuke big targets after activating radiance with your melee. Great video!
This was the single greatest build video I've ever seen so clear and thorough and we'll put together loved the side by side comparisons of with mods and without just awesome stuff man liked subscribed commented just to let you know ya got a fan in me now boss!
This also works really well with Trust when paired with incandescent. Everything will pretty much just blow up. Personally I use a solar build with Trust and Crimson.
Honestly, Ace of Spades is really good with Lucky Pants as well. You can stack Memento Mori w/ the LP damage buff by pulling out your ghost and putting it away to trigger the effect.
Yeah for luckypants/handcannon builds id say malfeasance for void/strand, i pair it with a gnawing hunger with subsistence and demolitionist which makes it crazy with volatile rounds. With solar id say crimson feels better
I had basically the same build during season 17, and to this day I maintain that explosive knife is superior to knife trick. The ridiculous homing these knives have make it very easy to directly hit targets, dealing roughly the same damage as a lightweight knife on impact then exploding soon after, basically guaranteeing kills on weaker trash enemies all the way through Day 1 raids and even GM's, especially if you land a crit. Your melee is now just a slightly weaker, more spammable fusion grenade that will chase enemies like the briefcase from Hitman. Having tried all 3 of your top picks when putting together my own lucky pants build back then, I found Malfeasance to be the superior, all round better pick. While Crimson builds stacks much faster, heals on kills and even full reloads on headshot kills, it doesn't do nearly as well when you're just trying to burst down a beefier enemy or boss as it relies on headshot kills to mitigate its poor magazine size. You will run out of ammo before your buff runs out, and I'd rather save my class ability for gamblers dodge. Malfeasance's innate extra damage burst is still nice in spite of it not getting boosted by Lucky Pants, damage is damage. Also, you're not running out of ammo before the buff runs out, you can polish off the rest of the mag, reload, swap to your energy to pop off a shot or two then switch right back for more Lucky Pants action. For healing, consider using armor mods to spawn orbs from charged melees, and armor mods on your legs to give a bit of health on orb pickup. This frees up a fragment and allows you to run healing grenades for emergencies
One of the funniest builds I’ve used in a while, not really sure if it feels over powered since it doesn’t always have an up time and the damage is from guns not abilities but I hope this doesn’t get touched for a while, makes the gameplay loop feel fresh again and I can be a silly cowboy, great video! c:
Another bonus of malfeasance is if you have a teammate running witherhoard. Enemies effected by Witherhoard are considered taken, so you get the damage bonus towards taken enemies
Bro no lie been quietly rocking Lucky Pants & Crimson for close to a year now - absolutely shreds especially after the mid-season patch. Can’t think of a better champion-killer & the ammo is free!
Care to share how you are dealing with champions? If I have an exotic HC on my kinetic slot, what else am I running for champs? I have been sitting here staring at my list, I guess I could do smg or scout on energy slot, which is fine. But thats just one possible champion.
@@garbagetrash8683 Then your best option Is to use a Solar Subclass, so you can deal with Barrier Champions while being radiant, and you have the Energy slot to deal with Unstops/Overloads
This is great! I was already using a version of this, but now going to add some extras to it. I love using Explosive Personality with Disruption Break for extra kinetic dmg when destroying a shield
Half a year ago i started with Destiny 2. I had few exotics. 2 of those were Crimson and Lucky Pants. 30 power levels under legendary.. I cleared my first solo lost sector with this combo. Team mates called me a liar. Since i had my first Flawless after 5 runs i had proof. Funny enough no exotics dropped though. This build was already really strong back then. Now,, its hilarious. Love seeing u push this build on your channel. Its highly underrated. Keep it going.
just a quick word on handcannon options, if you want your exotic slot open for something else like a heavy-slot DPS weapon (though idk why you would) then a crafted Austringer with Triple Tap and Frenzy is a great alternative to any of the top 3 HCs in the video git does dummy numbers even outside of this build and will do even MORE in it give it a shot, its very smooth and fun
tl;dr, Mactics discovers the very basics of lucky pants. Seventh Seraph Handcannon is the gun of all time for this build Reconstruction/Fourth Times the Charm and Vorpal weapon, with a boss spec. Do not use crimson if you got one of those, hell, even a yee-yee ass 180 HC will be just fine for lucky pants related builds. "But drksteel, why would you not run crimson? that's just less lucky pants damage!" I can run skyburners and heavyweight knife. Mactics will understand the rest of my logic from here. as for my preferred build, I use stasis and lucky pants for that whisper of rending buff. it may only be one shot, but then I throw on duskfield nade, slow dodge, mods for throwing as many duskfield nades as possible, and a salvations grip just in case, i've got one of if not the most solid anti-champ AND anti-tormentor/lucent hive builds for the sheer damage that lucky can just throw downrange with the shatters.
Watching the intro clip all in 3rd person was a nice change. We all shit on D2 from time to time, but we can't deny its a great looking looter shooter game.
I'm surprised just how few Hunters use Lucky Pants. As a warlock main I look to do something different on my other classes. And yeah I can throw infinite grenades with Sunbracers, but melting GM mini bosses and champs with a hand cannon is so satisfying. Something a lot of people might not know is that if enemies are tethered, one hit in a single target will count as multiple hits depending on how many enemies are tethered. This works really well in the Lake of Shadows strike. Get the bosses health down a bit, when ads spawn, pop a tether, then use Malfeasance to lay into the boss, and depending on how many ads get tethered, you could be at x10 in 2 or 3 shots.
I’ve been running this since they made the lucky pants changes… 1.Sturm overloaded (260% dmg x8+15% surge +radiant/weaken/chill 2.Malfeasancex10=2 explosion Crimson, Ace with momentox6, Lumina 3.180 reconstruction redirection or hi impact reserves+ambit or vorpal 4. Fatebringer+explo+frenzy/ a junkie do yourself a favor and get a seven Sareph revolver with ambit assassin or an overflow perk and hi impact reserves or harmony. I get my magazine to about 24 shots with Ambit. Basically, you waste 14 shots and now have 10 shots starting at 15% dmg going to 25% at clips end. It averages 20% damage but does not need a kill to activate and works on every target. Not just bosses and champs so in higher level content it’s actually great. You’d be surprised how many red bar enemies you notice once you only have vorpal. The vex chickens, Minotaur’s, ogres and things like shields and tanks and Turrets etc. Also, if you ever need the extra ammo, there’s always 24 ready. Also, vorpal is very strange about how the boss is coded. Many times I was not getting near 20%. I think it has to do with the crit multiplier. But high impact reserve stacks every time with major spec. So your 22.5% avg gets multiplied by 7.7% and the boots and it’s insane. But the real god roll if you’re willing to do a little bit of prep work in the build, is redirection four times a charm…. Reconstruction +Redirection \ ambit \ 4 times does 100% damage increase for 4 rounds then 80,60,40,20 so an avg of 75% dmg for 8 bullets and 2 normal….it’s insane… stack radiant and mix chill clip or weaken from hunter and it’s to good. I think 180s are best pure damage. Dealers, malfeasance is just incredible. Especially with void Were you weak in the target. Crimson is awesome because it heals you and every shot is three shots. But I think the best 140 is fate bringer with explosive rounds and adrenaline junkie or frenzy. Explosive rounds get 10% to the head but also Stun lock and Frenzy is 15% if you time it right or throw a grenade and get 35% for seven bullets with adrenaline. But if you wanna go for the absolute funniest, deletion machine you overload Sturm, with 10 special bullets, doing 250% -270% dmg each. At three shots you’ve done as much damage as 10 bullets for 180 and you can get 8 off. It’s the equivalent of shooting 22 120 rounds before you take the boots, radiant, or weakening. Also, since exotics, get 40% more damage… oh my God. You seriously can use this tactic with three men to one phase dungeon, bosses. But you have to be using Drang to set it up. Also, I forgot about surge mods. All of it stacks up.
People suggesting Seraph revolver - on paper it is amazing, but in reality the 40% bonus from exotics against red bars helps a lot in difficult content and the range is an issue also. Because of range I prefer malfeasance, the explosion can take care of some pesky turrets from safe distance. I like also strand for suspension grenades, they make weakspots easy to reach and deal with the most difficult mobs easily (wyverns, tormentors). However, I will definitely be trying this solar version this week for sure.
I love your videos man, I'm really new to the game but my buddies and I have started to attempt the higher level content and I hit a wall making builds myself. Your build videos do a better job of explaining why you pick each aspect/fragment/etc and as someone who literally started this season, I appreciate that a ton! Still got some exotics to collect but whenever I get one that I know youve covered for a recent build I jump on it and its a blast to play. I cant wait to try this one out especially, I really havent built anything around a gun yet. Gonna try to catch a stream soon, you're the man, keep it up!
Only tier 7 res, 5 dis, 4 rec, 1 chest resist mod and no ammo scouts/finders (will switch for team play) and this setup STILL fricking ROCKS. You indedd have a subscriber, ty!
don't overlook Last Word for your Lucky Pants builds! with its high rate of fire, smaller mag, and kinetic loader mod you can get in TWO full mags before the cool down hits to really take advantage of that fully stacked damage boost.
Lucky Pants were always amazing. I ran Crimson and a Blinding GL to solo the Legendary Campaign of Lightfall with little effort. With the mid season patch, Lucky Pants have gotten even better.
Great Video. I have always been a massive fan of the Lucky Pants but didn't realise that they offered so much to a Hunter Solar Loadout. Keep up the great work mate.
Lucky Pants Use: Ariana's vow, crimson, or malfeasance Abilities: Knife trick, Healing Grenades, Gamblers dodge Aspects: On your mark, Knock em down Fragments: Ember of Solace, Ember of searing, Ember of torches, Ember of singeing, Ember of Benevolence
Been using Lucky Pants + HC for years with excellent results. I typically run the last word or a dire promise with a bow for that quick hit and swap blinting play style. It's great both PvE and PvE but where this combo shines is Gambit.
Bro I keep on saying......you are going to surpass the rest of those guys soon enough. You are truly what a content creator represents. Thanks and keep up the excellent work.
"An exotic Armour piece you never thought you'd see featured in a build video, but please hold your scepticisms to the end" lol no Mactics your the only one who some how didn't know about the lucky pants. Don't put that on us!
I was just in my Vault yesterday and realised my lucky pants were a 67 base, so I equipped them for a try. I then randomly came across this video I must have had them for years without using them. what a trip lol
I feel like this could work really well with strand. That reload on grenade fragment with grenade energy on damage fragment is pretty rad and probably next to nerf unless they decide to go after grapple some more
Fact as I just did GM glassway with a crimson + Lucky pants strand build and dear God the damage is ridiculous. Even wyverns get melted in 1 clip after using suspend on them.
What the… I’ve recently just made a built using Eyasluna with Headstone Lucky pants on stasis. It is fire, crap tons of super energy, still loads of damage. You get utility, ability uptime, great neural, incredible synergy outside your weapon and when I get an Unrelenting + Headstone Luna, I will be soaring. It is so much fun
I can’t believe how close I was to already having this build. I just slapped a few kinetic surges on my lucky pants with last word bc I thought “its rootin tootin time” but I didn’t think it could be made actually good
I Tried the Crimson after much time, paired with lucky pants just yesterday and. Can say is impressive, a real game changer, you feel almost unkillable. The damage is even more than I expected, without make attention for mods or everything else. I will try again with this build. 👌🏻
I've been running variations of this build since I started playing in season of plunder because it reminds me of borderlands. I came to d2 after playing borderlands games for years.
I tried this out when i first saw it a couple weeks ago, and I use Eriana's for it at first. But while doing a bit of Titaning (I'm a Titan main) on the Nightfall last night, I got Crimson from a random Arc Minotaur kill. My god, does it tear through everything.
I definitely like Malfeasance and Crimson with Lucky Pants, but I've also found an appreciation for Ace of Spades recently. Not quite "meta", but a fun gun to play with :D
Retraced path with genesis + disruption break. A usually worthless 2nd column perk i feel pairs perfect as trace rifles have an excellent ammo efficiency and fulfills the swapping weapon playstyle without feeling like a sweaty hot swap. I'd recommend giving it a try
YO I Started running this build literally two days ago! Hawk moon w/ surplus is my build and recommendation but can’t wait to try these other ones out too!
I actually have a similar build to this and I've been loving it! The only difference is that I only have 3 fragment due to having On Your Mark and Gunpowder Gamble, which is so good for ad clearing!
I like using lucky pants with the last word you can get the stack up to 10 really fast and then reload really fast just to hit 10 stacks with at least six out of the eight rounds before the buff is finished
I've been using this type of build for a few weeks now , but with Trust x Vorpal and Tractor to get some immaculate damage. vorpal X tractor X boss spec X radiant X surge X lucky pants 1.15 x 1.3 x 1.0777 x 1.25 x 1.22 x 7(at max stacks) = 17.2x damage per shot at max stacks of lucky pants. or, 1720% buff lol
Ever since I picked up a hunter, I've been running sunshot/lucky pants just for the fun of it! I'll have to try your recommended picks to see if it'll be more fun for me
Damn im really enjoying this build! One thing I like to do is throwing knife for radiant while making sure tht I already have crimson in hand then activate marksman super. Once that finishes it triggers lucky and unload crimson does a shit ton of dmg.
Video is nice and detailed, great presentation visually, just a little slow in the delivery. I had to turn the speed to 1.5 (1.25 realistically) to keep my interest. Very fun build, lovely video!
So for a solo player, this build doesn't really deliver... With this build, much HAS to go right to REALLY get the damage you want. So you first need to get radiant, which means you NEED to get melee final blows, then whip out your hand cannon and get off as many shots as you can while lucky holster is active. Which also means if your going up against yellow bars you have to whittle their health down first, WITHOUT using a hand cannon, so that you can take full advantage of lucky holster, which only lasts 5.5 seconds. If you fail to get that melee kill, you won't be radient, then have to sit there and wait for 10 second per the 'out of luck' debuff to try this all again. Am I missing anything?
bro. This build was MADE for me. Not only do I have Crimson and Lucky Pants and Blade Barrage, but I love using them, and I’m good at it too. Thank you for making my dream build Mactics!
Highly Recommend Young Ahamkara Spine for both PVP and PVE. This build will be cool whenever handcannons get a seasonal champion mod. But, YAS is just.. It’s just so 👌🏻
love the video and the presentation is amazing, one quick question tho, did you use kinetic surge with golden gun, cuz i’ve heard that kinetic surge increases golden gun damage
I’m curious about this as well. My guess is the slow fire rate of Sturm hampers it’s ability to stack the bonus-damage HC shots quickly enough to make good use of its alive-time. But like you said Sturm will have increased damage already thanks to its own mechanics…hmmm might need to give this a try myself.
I’ve always loved lucky pants. I used a similar build with erianas vow Wen LFR did crazy damage I actually managed to be best dps against oryx. This was a while ago too so it surprises me that now it’s becoming as popular as it is. Also in case u r gonna go healing grenade DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO FOR EMBER OF MERCY!!! Currently it’s bugged where it will reset the restoration timer if u do healing grenade into fire sprite. Got killed way to many times cause I thought I had restoration till I realized it myelf. Top of that it’s kinda overkill imo so instead go for ember of singing which can give ur dodge back. Just my take tho hope this helps. And Another suggestion btw which is wut I go back and forth between is this and strand. Being able to suspend an enemy so u can get ur headshots could not be anymore fun!
I started using a build like this but was waiting on a big content creator to perfect it or at least optimize it more. It's very fun since hand cannons are my favorite gun type and who doesn't like being a space cowboy?
As a solar hunter main, i just hope Bungie fixes the Firesprite bug, which after picking up Firesprite, drops down Restoration timer back to 2 seconds, if u already had it working even at 12 seconds. Bungie wrote about this as a known issue, and it is still not fixed, and they do not write about it for almost a month
