You've got this Chris you can do anything if you put your mind to it, my advice to you is take it slow at first don't push yourself too hard so you over do it and become exhausted, you want to gradually get into it bit by bit and warm up before you exercise and warm down afterwards that is the only way you will successfully get back into shape. I’m in the same situation, my inspiration for walking came from a lady with dementia that walks 5 miles a day. I’m trying to do the same with the Lords help 🙏🏽

You're more likely to hurt yourself and burn out going straight to running. In fact, you should work up to running by walking longer and longer distances for at least a year before you start running. Start by walking 1 mile every day for a week. If nothing hurts and your heart rate is not creeping up. Rest the 7th day and start week 2 walking 2 miles. And repeat. The most important thing you can do for your health is actually not exercise but diet. Your liver is full of fat. Not a judgement but you need to know that because it's a clear sign of insulin resistance. The problem with that is not your waist size. It increases your risk of heart disease and cancer. And diabetes as well. You need to focus on eliminating all but leafy green carbs. Not as a diet but as a for the rest of your life, lifestyle. Focus on eating fats and moderate amounts of protein. And weight training with compound movements is more important for you than running. All running is gonna do right now is make you hungry and possibly waste your lean muscle mass. After you get your carbs down, focus on getting rid of snacks. And then going from 3 meals a day to two or even one. You will not burn fat until your insulin levels go down because insulin is a fat storing hormone. That's why you have to get rid of the things that require insulin spikes to deal with glucose spikes and raise it less often because anything you eat will cause an insulin response. Be careful with aerobic exercise for right now. With you starting at this level it could work more against you than for you. I hope that doesn't sound negative. I know it's important for you to be as healthy as possible and not die on your family prematurely so even though I know it doesnt sounds uplifting, I'm telling you anyway to try to help.
