Talented work, DP! I agree that the gen2 Mazda steering wheel was a miss. The buttons aren’t placed well and are uncomfortable to press and the switch is an awful feeling. I need to upgrade the head unit soon, but first I was wondering what I could do about about the small info-gps display in Mazda. It’s cracked and impossible to read during the day. Any solutions?
Thanks! Glad you like it! Unfortunately mine doesn't have the GPS at the top, so I'm not sure what it would intel to fix that, have you looked for used replacement parts? like on eBay?
@@DrivingProduction I have checked on eBay, but the pictures of it don’t give me a clear picture of the screen and if they’re damaged or not. Some people post them saying they have either been through high mileage cars or are slightly scratched up. Haha all I want it is a clean working screen
Hello, have you think of upgrading the steering wheel to one that has paddle shifters? For example, the rx8,the 2gen axela(Japan model), the 3gen mazda 3 and 4th gen mazda 3 steering wheels, among others has paddles. It would be great to see that!!
You pointing out the horn difference made me think if thats the issue im having with my gen 2 i sport, sometimes the horn works, sometimes it doesnt. Ive tried changing out the fuse and the relay, neither of those changes fixed the problem, recently i swapped out my headlight housings so while the bumper was off i unplugged the horn, cleaned the connectors some and replugged. I also looked at the wires which l couldnt see anything visibly wrong, so my thinking was well maybe it's the clock spring, i didnt even consider it maybe being the button itself.
I have Mazda 3 2011 can I use 2009 steering wheel and my Mazda my don't have buttons on the steering wheel I want to know if I still able to pour 2009 without the buttons
Dang, I should have done that with my 2nd gen Speed3 when I still had it. As much as I love the 2nd gen's overall feel more than the 1st gen, the interior was a visual let down. I Got used to it after my first year with that car though
Yeah at that time the overall design at Mazda was going through weird stuff, so when I saw the 1st gen wheel I figured it couldn't be that hard to make it work haha
All the buttons on the steering wheel work, but my car didn't have the extra screen at the top, I don't think it would since there's no buttons for it on the Bk wheel
