This is a powerful scene. You have two dads one had another family but is successful Sergent. But he may not of been there for his daughter. But they are going to continue to work through this and put the past behind them and work on the now. Then you have the other father. That has 35-year-olds at the age of 60. Who the hell does that and was afraid of a lady leaving him. So right away he scared to be alone he’s not a man.When my dad hit 70 in a couple years we’re moving him in he can stay with us until he passes we enjoy his time. This dad always hitting up for money which is unfortunate because he got his own self put in a pinch with those three kids it’s not cheap. Powerful part we can learn from it

Listen, this movie exaggerates a little to make its point but in general every single scene or scenario is based on some level of truth. To me it was not the marriage part that led to this, it was then also having kids. Kids literally change you, sometimes dramatically. And you end up not being the person you once were. And those two people (you and your significant other) who once saw eye to eye on most everything are not at all the same any longer. That to me is what people need to realize before having kids.

Isn't there a saying that when you marry someone, you also marry their family? Well, if your significant other's family is a mess, guess what, YOU inherit that mess. You better vet your spouse's family before you decide to marry. If you sense that they're crazy people, then run, run far away!
@bitchslap3873
@bitchslap3873 3 года назад
It certainly will which is why the dual income no kids movement is gaining such momentum, a lot of people have kids because they think that their next logical step in life when it really doesn’t have to be like that and which is why we are overpopulated with a massive divorce rate

She's not a Karen for asking her husband to stop enabling his dad, who can't provide for his 3 half brothers that he chose to have.
@kuanged
@kuanged 2 года назад
@@chrisdorsett3148 I'm commenting on her general frustration with her husband which eventually leads to resentment, anger, disillusionment, and divorce. I mean for sure, the husband should not be bailing dad out, but she definitely did not handle that conversation with compassion or gracefulness. Karens are just deeply entitled people who thought life would turn out to be a fairy tale for them, and they become more and more disillusioned as they get older and realize things aren't getting any better. Instead of taking responsibility and working on themselves, they blame others for their dissatisfaction and malaise. They are immature children trapped in adult bodies, who are out of touch and arrogant enough to believe the world really owes them a fulfilling life. When they don't get what they want they become bitter and take it out on others. Her character is going down that exact road.
@chrisdorsett3148
@chrisdorsett3148 2 года назад
@@kuangedYou make a lot of good points. I guess everyone has a different definition of "Karen". I feel like Pete's birthday was definitely the worst place to talk about this but Pete didn't need to bring up problems with her own dad since their main worry is financial and her dad isn't draining any dough from them. But I could definitely see her as a Karen with they way she treated Joseph and the gluten deal.

Funny how things work out, but when this movie was released in 2012, the Cubs had not won a World Series for 104 years, nor played in one for 57. I grew up as an Atlanta Braves fan in the 1970s and 1980s, and the Cubs were a byword for futility in sports, along with the Northwestern college football team. Inept most years, and tragically close in a few rare seasons.

The Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann characters were fun to watch in "Knocked Up," as they provided outside commentary and comic relief. That said, watching the outtakes from "This is 40" is just painful. I need a film comedy to make me laugh and bring a little humor to my own existence, not make me feel sorry for how wrong and miserable these characters are (the Leslie Mann character in particular). I will probably never watch this complete movie, but I'm sure it serves a purpose . . . like illustrating how married couples and other persons in relationships should never behave and how they should never speak to each other. Perhaps it could be used to great effect in marriage counseling.

Don't say that around some of members of the more progressive sects of Judaism that were raised in the faith (seriously, the will bite your friggin head off, lol). My father is Jewish, but my mother is not, so I've always been comfortable with the term "person of Jewish heritage" & while traditional sects absolutely believe it's something that's passed only from mother to child, progressive sects recognize it can come from either parent as long as the child was raised in the faith (observed Jewish traditions, etc).
