Just so everyone knows, no, you can't watch an episode like this. No, there are no streaming platforms that _have_ episodes like this. This is heavily upscaled and the frames have been smoothed to 60fps, which is 3-10 times the framerate of a normal anime. A full anime upscaled and smoothed like this would feel incredibly unnatural, and would probably cost way too much for any studio to produce. Edit: Seeing as I've had so many replies saying that anime is 24fps, I'll just put a general response here. Yes, most anime nowadays is 24fps in active scenes. There are also a lot of single frames which can last seconds at a time for comedic pauses, or long dialogue scenes which require little animation. The actual average is probably closer to 10-15 fps, if not less.

It doesn’t even truly look good, games can be boosted because every frame is rendered properly. If you pause during the animations you can see that the computer is just filling in the blanks between frames and it’s terrible…
Animators often draw in 2s and 4s, where one drawing will hang for 2 or 4 frames, so in terms of what they're "drawing" it's more like 12 or 6fps, but the overall show is put together and broadcast in 24fps.
This is less of a picture quality upscale and more of a fps upscale with added frames in-between the actual frames drawn. Modern tv's actually have a feature that do this. However, the algorithm the TV uses to create computer generated frames isn't as butter smooth as this is. That's not to say that the picture quality did not go up. It definitely did. However, it wouldn't look near as good without the fluid framerate.
it's not really an 'fps upscale' in anime they only move the scene or character after 2 or 3 frames most of the time, so the secret is to cut out those still frames until every frame is moving then to precompose it and add twixtor. it's called twixtoring and a lot of editors do it.
it's always better to use 4k instead of 1080p even though you have a 1080 minitor cause yt compresses the videos so the 1080 that it offers you its not real. anyway if you go for 4k boom then you got a real 1080p.
Please everyone. This is not just 4k 60fps this is and edit so of course it looks good (I love it too). If you have any sense of taste you would realize 4k 60fps on any hand drawn animation is stupid and completely unrealistic for a studio to make
oh absolutely. not to mention that upscaling and interpolating completely ruins the flow of the animation the animators designed i think it looks cool *Sometimes* but more often than not, the frames are too blurred together to look coherent
@@koomsik2578 This is the first time I've ever recommended one of my video to somebody. I simply upload random stuff for fun. However since I'm not sure what you meant by "upscaling [...] completely ruins the flow of the animation", could you give a look to one of my last two videos? I upscaled a scene from Naruto Shippuden to 4K using some convulated techniques on top of Real-ESRGAN (waifu2x but better) and I don't think it affected the flow of the animation at all. Note that the framerate is identical to the source video I used (23.976 FPS). Oh, and I also uploaded a 4K upscale of the opening of Avatar: The Last Airbender two months ago, which looks great and "flows" as well as the original in my opinion.

Modern anime is usually 720p so you should indeed see a difference, and while the "4K" version isn't all that great it should still look better with a 1080p monitor as 4K allows for higher bitrates on youtube.
