Love the building series, That unvented LP range needs to be vented (240 cfm) to exterior. It is an unvented combustion appliance , it generates Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Particulate Matter (PM) and Water Vapor all of which are a serious heath hazard. Indoor cooking is now considered a Pollution Event. Your new apartment is a small tight and air sealed space. You need a range hood and bath fan (110 cfm ) I would also consider an HRV or ERV. Lastly install a CO/Smoke Detector and an Explosive Gas Detector. It would be a good idea to purchase an indoor air quality meter such as a IQAIR. That should about cover it :)
@dustyboard2247

Put some jugs of water in the freezer, don't over-fill, only 3/4 of the way. Utilizes thermal mass to run your compressor less often once frozen. Long run times are better than frequent run times. It'll make your fridge WAY more efficient.

tbh nearly everyone fills up all of their freezer space pretty quickly, even if it's just with ice-cream, then they just eat what's in the fridge. I've barely managed to squeeze in two gel blocks that I use for work sandwiches

This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. ru-vid.comUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.

You two goof balls drag them up a mountain, hoist them with jankie ropes and tackle through a hole in the wall and all good. Not even a scratch!!!!! Just don’t get it. You guys rock. Congratulations. FWIW- I've had to move a 700# milling machine and other tools/appliances in and out of basements at my homes.... I built a sled that I would load up and slide up/down the stairs using a small hand winch. Since you've got a straight stair run down to ground level I would think something similar might work for you guys. A bit less sketchy (albeit only a bit). Still a win's a win- you got them in, and no blood was shed :)

Tip for your propane tank - you dont need to wind the valve fully out, a half to one turn is all thats needed and then in an emergency it takes only one turn to shut it off
@DavidWieder216951
@DavidWieder216951 2 года назад
Not true: A propane valve should be either full closed or full open. There is a seat/seal on the full open that prevents gas from leaking out around the valve stem.

Never store a propane tank next to a BBQ, inside your house, under your bedroom... I know you shut the gas off before going to bed, but pop a hole through the siding and get that tank out of your house! Preferably several feet away. Congrats on the appliances, enjoy the convenience!

I used to be a paramedic - please make sure to get a vent for that range and make sure it is running every time you cook with it. This is crucial. You don't want you or your doggos to risk intoxication. Also, get a CO detector for the kitchen and another one for the bedroom. And lastly, no propane cylinders inside a structure!

We're running our house off two 40lb cylinders harnessed together. I have four, so when two go empty, I swap out the harness and fill the empty ones. If you're not heating much with it, your kitchen stove will run forever on a 40lb cylinder, so I wouldn't worry about getting a bigger tank...

I know this was over a year ago, but for anyone else a pully is a great way of doing lifts, years ago we use to do super long carpet runs "Customers didn't want any glued together seems" so how to get a run of 300 to 400 lbs of carpet up to a second floor we did this but after the first few times someone gave us a wench "game changer" we would use a pully and the wench with the flick of a switch we were able to get heavy things to a second floor. if you don't have a wench you could use a car or something like a 4 wheeler and pull with that too. You two have done such an amazing job.

Don't need scissor lift just good old forklift forks, basically you can make it as a project, you can take some off of old junk, there are even some very old that can be hand driven with chains. You will just need a stable platform underneath, and then wheels to move it away if not in use. I think Captain Kleeman had hydrolic one taken apart on his channel. P.S. BTW those pullies you got are great !

Be aware that you may have to change the jet size on the stove burners because the stove is so far above the tank (2nd floor stove and tank at ground level). It will still work as is (obviously) but may not get as hot as you’d like for hot oil frying and such. My mom had the same issue.

I hope when you were making your apartment loft you made a pair of burned doors at the top so you can get your appliances or stuff in and out making an extra set of doors for deliveries will probably be the best interest for you to look into

Now you need 2 things, fresh air supply to stove and you Jotul burner, and kitchen exhaust, I used Vilpe kitchen extractor that has exhaust fan located on the roof (installed all myself), just that it requires some particular hood for "driving" it. But likely you have something similar in the US ... BTW you don't necessarily need forced induction/exhaust, if you search around you may find some ideas on using natural draft air for gas stove exhaust, on old apartment houses we had those a lot. P.S. that is safety feature required here in Latvia.

Plow truck cones through again! Your door wench looks like it could use a leg bolted to the sill (or just staked to the ground). Seven to one is great for a block and tackle. The real problem with 7 to one block sets, as you found out, is you have to pull seven times the rope for every foot you get off the block. I've always liked come-alongs for winching. I bridge I was lucky enough to reconstruct, Folsom Truss, was done with mules, chains, block and tackle. (you always need the mule) The nice thing about the refrigerator is it cools your food and heat's your house. Thanks for the ecoflo info. I'm going to look into that.

Please get a water monitor. Samsung internal temps are known for fluctuating dramatically causing the water filter to freeze and bust. Also find someone to service now rather than later as many companies in remote locations won't service Samsung appliances.

I didn't expect the Delta Pro to be that powerful. That is an awesome power station.

The battery system you use to give power to the refrigerator, reminds me about my solution when apartments in my area went out of electricity for some 36 hours. It was really long time considering the area is not a remote place. I saved my food in fridge by using the electricity stored in UPS meant for computers. Just keep the fridge doors closed and use the backup power when the temperature inside fridge is about to go above freezing point. You want to run it until you have again some -20 celsius, then shut it off and keep fridge doors closed. My UPS was able to run some 30-40 minutes before batteries empty, but it was just enough to carry the food in freeze temperature over that 36 hours. Just for numbers information, it was 1000 VA UPS (which doesnt necessarily start without existing AC power....had to help it with other UPS), and it was basically enough to return the good freezing temperatures to fridge at least once from about 0 celsius. Your battery unit carries probably longer time, and it is better designed for that job.

To field test gas joints, I have used washing up liquid. If it bubbles you have a gas leak. So either tighten or remake the joint and restest. Gas jointing compound also helps. (Like putty.)

I hope you let that fridge set for 24 hours before you plugged it in. The reason is to let what debris is left in the system settle to the bottom of the compressor, so it lessens the possibility of the debris blocking the capillary tube.

Dinner of champions - I put in butter before I roll them up and I add jelly after they are done. Not as good as Norwegian Lefse but your choice is pretty good. (I live near Seattle, not in Norway)
