LA was a world class city in terms of public transit. It had over 1200 miles of track in its prime, that was all bulldozed by car lobbies to make La the car infested hellhole it is today. But there is hope, LA has this program called 28 by 28, building tons of new public transit for the 2028 Olympics. Measure HLA was passed earlier this year to give hundreds of miles of pedestrian/bike safe roads. LA is the fastest growing public transit in north america, in 1990 we had 0 miles of trains, today we are 3rd in the nation, and will soon have more than chicago.
LA is indeed improving but from visiting it from time to time just kills me inside. It could’ve been the perfect city with its climate, landscape, diverse culture and capability to grow its own food BUT the car-centric infrastructure just takes that shit all away. I’ve been to third world countries that has significantly better public transportation than the whole of CA (yes even including SF). This is the perfect city to have a healthy amount of its commuters in bikes, but you’d be crazy to do that now because sooner or later, you’ll be killed by a soccer mom, on her Ford F-150, texting the soccer coach to bang her after her kid’s soccer practice.
Look at the stats on cities moving. They had 383 US cities in the study, only 2 of those had over 10% of people commuting to work by walking/cycling (Ithaca, Corvallis). Only 2 cities had less than 85% of people commuting by car (Ithaca and New York).
@@NotASummoner that doesn't seem right at all. While the US is wildly behind we have cities like SF, Chicago, Philly, Boston, Seattle etc. where the transit mode share is over 20%

I was in LA recently, and it was definitely worse than I thought. Crazy amounts of homeless, traffic, tourist areas are super trashy, near 0 public transport, LAX was mid, and everything was super expensive. It made me appreciate living in Chicago lol

My great grandfather is Canadian and became a representative for Washington State. His friend had to inform him that he is Canadian and he should become a US citizen xd So I guess, you can be Canadian and not realize you are Canadian when you live so close to the border.
I lived in Alaska, where there are no people, and things are expensive because it costs so much to ship stuff up there. LA is a major port, founded on an oil reserve, and in the best agricultural state in the US. It should be so cheap, it's frustrating to think the reason it's expensive is airport logic. (There stuck in here, so they have to pay my prices)

Rn glarketing Mondays are always late, why? because Big A has to be camera ready which can take days, sometimes even weeks. If he no longer has to brush his teeth that will shave off at least a day in the grand scheme of things, which will mean marketing Mondays are not too late. I'm sure there are other things to address but this is a clear easy win as even big a is for it. I leave the ball in your court but know that you have my support should you find a way to action this.
